fw, how long does your DH have to stay in the hospital? Hope you can relax tonight.

SD, we used to picnic a lot too, I don't know why we quit doing it either?

pinetree, don't you make your soy sauce?

TDN, I read that book too. I had the same thoughts about it that you did. A little over the top for me.

Took Bomba to the vet and scheduled a dental for him for next Wednesday, so I'll be back next week too and I have to get the other two in for heartworm tests. I don't know what to do about Gobie. I guess I'll have to ask the vet his opinion. Off to watch some tv and have a dish of ice cream.
I'm too busy working on my own grass to notice if yours is greener.

Him being back may be huge amts of work again and well this time I'm 11 yrs. older and sporting a hefty case of Bronchitis. We got those mini ice creams for $1.49 yesterday-coffee for me and of course Choc. for DH. Then he says they said no dairy! dude.

Too exhausted. Love ya ll though, danged if i dont. i am so grateful for all the support.

Good morning! Today we need to take some cardboard over to the recycling place. There is a truck that comes around every other Monday and picks up recycling at the end of the drive but we got the dates mixed up and missed it again. I told DH I'm tired of the boxes so we are going to break them down and haul some over there today ourselves. It's not that far from us. I have craft night tonight. I've also got to pop into the pharmacy and pick up DHs meds. I'm going to try making baked beans in the Instant Pot today. I've tried homemade baked beans three times since we've been married (30 years) and each time has been a total disaster. DH loves homemade baked beans though so I'll give it one more try. It's been like 20 years since I last tried. I was so disgusted I told him the last time that I was done trying. LOL. But the Instant Pot gives me hope. hahaha

    Bernice, how's your Mom?

EB here it's our state parks that charge a fee. They are typically (but not always) on the water, there's a beach, outdoor play equipment, picnic tables and grills etc. There's usually hiking trails too. Some here having camping and some are day use only. Our state park pass (70.00 for the year) covers the state parks, state historic sites and some reserved lands. We have a lot of forts too in Maine and those fall under the state park umbrella also. They are well worth the price to get in for sure but if you go a lot it's worth it to get the season pass. We have a small tailgating grill and we often will throw that in the car with the cooler and head over to one of the parks at supper time and cook dinner, enjoy the view while we eat and walk the beach afterwards etc. There are free parks around but they are small and not as scenic. But they usually are more for sports, there's playground equipment for kids etc. I love the idea of a puzzle exchange at the library. What a great idea. I like puzzles too.

Pinetree wow you did a lot of cleaning at the store. That's awesome! I can't imagine cleaning that much glass. Are you all rested up now? That sounds exhausting but so satisfying to get it done. I hope you're not coming down with something Try to see if you can get some extra rest (if that diuretic will let you!). I have started coughing yesterday and fear that cold I had a couple of weeks ago is coming back. Our weather has been back and forth between winter and spring and the temperature fluctuations are making it tough. I'm so sorry about the loss of the fruit trees.

GB you've come a long way a year post stroke. I agree with ILC, I know it's been rough but let's hope this next year is awesome.

FW so glad to hear DHs surgery went well. I hope the antibiotic beads they used work their magic. And I hope the next few weeks ago easy on you guys and his recovery goes well. Keeping the prayers coming.

TDN the book you mentioned is exactly the one my friend at church mentioned. She brought it in for me Sunday so I have it now. I haven't had a chance to start reading it yet. She said some ideas she did implement but others just weren't her style.

SD I remember you talking about how awesome it was to see the baby bison. That would be a fun trip! I always do up a menu for us when we camp too. That way we have a plan vs just flinging food into the cooler and winging it. Our old house had white floors in the kitchen and bathrooms. And yeah, I ask myself now what was I thinking. They are beautiful with small designs on them but the cleaning!! We have a dirt driveway and mud season, snow season etc. And people come into the kitchen as the first room you enter in which means it all piles up by the door there even though we had folks take their shoes off there. So this place we requested Congoleum vinyl type flooring but it looks like a hardwood floor. It doesn't show every speck like the white does and it cleans easily. I cracked up at your next floor being so colorful you can hide a ham sandwich on it!!

Rabbit so glad Gobie is doing well!! And glad to see you're back!

Hi Niko, Ayanka and anyone else I missed.

    Default Floors

For all of you who hate your floors, I just wanted to show you what I put in my kitchen when I remodeled a few years ago. I like it so much, I put the same thing in my master bath.
Everybody who sees it thinks it ceramic tile. It's Mannington Sobello sheet vinyl. It's easy on the feet and back and super easy to clean. No grout lines, even though it looks like it.

Yesterday I did what I call "scatter cleaning."
I start straightening up the living room, find something that belongs in the bedroom. While I'm in there, I change the sheets. Then I see something that need to go in the bathroom. When I get in there, I see that the vanity need to be wiped off, so I do that.
Eventually I get back to the living room to sit down for a minute and end up dusting bookshelves, etc. etc. etc.
Parts of my house are clean, but it still looks like a mess.

Good morning. Sounds like everyone is movin' and groovin.' I weeded in my veggie garden and I planted black-eyed Susans and gladiolas in my flower bed. It was almost 90 here yesterday. That is unheard of in March. More rain coming Thursday and Friday. I also washed and cleaned my car. Working on getting the house cleaned. DH and his siblings and I are going to the casino for a few days. I have two free nights and free breakfasts, so we are taking advantage. DH and I will be heading to Oklahoma city on Thursday to meet my DB and pick up DMom so they can have a family break. DMom lives with them, so she comes to visit when they go on long trips. She is 94 and more active than I ever will be. It will be fun having her around, but I have to get everything done here before I leave. My neighbor banged on our door around 8:30 last night and told her she was having a pajama party under her big tree. It is kind of like a huge umbrella complete with light and a fire pit, so many of our neighbors sat out in our robes and pajamas and visited. It was so much fun.

It seems that everyone is feeling better and God's hand is at work. I would love to be able to see the wildlife that you mentioned. I love being outdoors. I am going to Rhode Island in late June to keep my granddaughter. I am excited about that trip. DH and I are going to make a trip to Louisiana, Tennessee, and the Carolinas this summer. We were suppose to go last year before my stroke. I just hope I can make it. Have a great day!

yesterday and the day before were not my day. Yesterday I had to go to the cardiologist. You wait in this huge line to check in and out. I just cannot stand upright fr many minutes without my BP plummeting. Well, it did while I was in line and I fell. Good place to be to do that because he got to see firsthand what happens. My pulse was flying, so that med was doubled.

I had so many errands to do but I just had zero energy to do them. I had to go to Talbot's to return the dress I bought for the wedding as they only have a 90 day return policy so I rebought it online to get another 90 days and saved 35 bucks to boot. I'm just not 100% sure on it. I managed the return but that was it.

I had my sleep study and don't have enough apnea to warrant cpap, yay. But my oxygen level went down and stayed down the entire time I was sleeping. Enough to warrant oxygen. So I have to go in and have a more in depth one done. I really do not want a new pulmonary problem and oxygen so I'm hoping this test is better.

I am falling behind in everything but until the cardiac med kicks in and I don't feel so just totally off, I am not pushing myself.

love it! I put something similar in my BRs but then I moved, but the floors were great. You really had to look to not know it was tile. Our main baths here have tile and our half bath has this. I'd rather have the vinyl in all the BRs, I hate tile.

Spirit Deer......we have a 1993 ( yikes, is it that old!) terry resort. It is called a 19' but is barely 17' inside. It has a rear entry door and when you walk in to the right there is a very small all in one shower toilet sink bath then a table with padded benches on each side. On the left a small closet then kitchen area. The kitchen is very small but very functional since I do the food prep at home. Then a walk around bed in the back. It has an accordion door to close of bed but we never use that since it is just us. Built ins all around the bed. There is much more storage than we use for our weekend trips. We do not travel in it, bought it for close to home getaways. We have taken the rose/blue colors of the 90's out of it and decorated it cabin/lodge like. Hubby has added a few handy built ins. We bought it used 7 years ago and it still is in very good condition.

Wjcaldeton.......those floors are really pretty! I like your name for scatter cleaning..........that is one of my biggest problems. I do it all the time then nothing seems finished.

    Have a great day everyone!

WJ-I just want you kitchen. 1970's dk cabinets over here. I have a white store cement tile from vestibule down the hallways into the 1/2 bath thru the kitchen. So easy to clean, very functional, hard on you back.

Dh is feeling good enough to be pesky.lol His pain level is down and he's bored. He's called me 2x already. i guess his foot has good color and the hard cast goes on later today. I may not go over as he may come home Wed? If I felt better I would but I need to clear space in the LR and shop for a few pershables. Not to mention more sleep and a few wash loads.

FW, Good to her he is doing so well. Hopefully it keeps going. get some rest and worry about stuff later.

RABBIT,yea, I did make the soy sauce, but DH figured out of the bottle is alot easier! Its getting kinda old having to fix everything from scratch. Now I have a bottle of Braggs I can't use!. Take care of your back!

WJ. I love that floor! Thats what I want to replace my floors with. Maybe not so dark color tho, my kitchen is really little. I put in White counters, cabinets, appliances, so when it got dirty I could see it, lol, what a mistake, cause its always dirty! Thats why I am always wiping down something in the kitchen!

Gbug, Your travel plans sound good! I hope you get to go.

TDN, I Love the terry"s especially that age, we almost bought a terry with a front and rear bedroom, 2 door, bet you love yours! That would be perfect for us now, with just the 2 of us.

Hikr, LOL you would have been proud of me cleaning all that glass! I sat on my rear end to do the bottom shelves, well as far up as I could reach, then got a chair, and sat my rear end in that until I couldn't reach, then stood up for a minute to pull the stuff off the next shelf, then removed the glass shelf so I could clean it on my lap!!
I can't stand for very long, but I do think I got more done this way than I would have standing up. DIL said the landlord came in and couldn't believe how bright and shiney it was.
Hey, whats the difference between your hot pot and my electric pressure cooker? They look the same to me. I have a recipe that makes baked beans from canned pork and beans, want it? If you come up with a good one let me know!

Bernice, DO you know how low your oxygen gets? I have found if I run my ceiling fan in the bedroom, My will stay around 90-94. without it I will drop to 84 easy. I HAVE to wear my oxygen to bed. Hope you get things figured out soon.

    ILC, Where are you?

    SD, Thinking about you.

I'm restless even though I don't feel great so I cleaned out under the large BR sink area. I had pretty much just shoved stuff under there when we moved in and then DD threw her stuff in. All nice and tidy, got rid of a baggage worth of stuff. I had the pics I had hanging in my old BR in there and a cute, but broken wall clock. Think it's time to trash the clock. I'm not sure if I want to look at the same pics for another 12 yrs in a house so I might offer them to DD first, she likes B+W pictures.

does anybody have a dog that eats toilet paper? Buddy can actually slide it off the holder and by the time I caught him, he had eaten 1/2 a roll. My dad says spray it with bitter apple. I said, "Would you like to try TP sprayed with bitter apple???" lol. I put it up high. This dog will eat anything he can get his hands on paper wise. He'll pluck tissues from the box. Junk mail that missed the recycle bin and landed on the floor. I guess I should start spraying him with a water bottle when he does it or he's gonna get sick.

I have so much shower gel that I got real cheap at BJs before we moved. 6 giant bottles of Dove, I had BJs and regular coupons. What was I thinking? It will take years to use that. Forgot I had it and leaped on some amazing Target deal for a case of Lever soap thinking my whole family would use it, it was super cheap. Well, I'm the only one who will use it. I will have soap left when I die, lol. My kids' inheritance!

but that was a good job done, tons of space under there now

high 70s, low 80s which may be a partial explanation for what happened to my memory but that occurred literally overnight so they still think some sort of event happened. But if you're not getting good oxygen all night long, that could definitely contribute to memory being an ongoing problem

Bernice, My Dr Cardio told me to not let mine get below 90, its really bad on your heart. So, I'm wondering if you get oxygen if you will feel alot better? Does that sound right to you? Mine would have a fit if I told him I got that low.
Take it easy if you don't feel well, those new pills might be affecting you, Hugs.

Happy Happy Birthday Tomorrow Bernice, Incase I forget!!
