Today I attempted to clean up the screened porch but DH has most of the floor space cluttered with tools. The problem is he had NO system for storing them. I've offered to help him deal with the mess in the basement so he can have a nice work/storage area but he hasn't done anything. Which means I'll have to start the project myself and then he'll join in. But I can't do it yet because he's not through replacing the Hardie board on the back of the garage, which is 2 stories tall and he's doing it by himself so it's slow. Actually this summer will probably be a better time to do the basement since it's much cooler down there and it'll be a good respite from the heat.
1) Start working on end-of-month finances
2) Set up some online accounts/order some stuff online/etc.
4) Clean our bathroom really well
5) Continue going through some stuff to sell/donate

we just had 3 big storm cells move thru and only got a tinge of rain. I feel so blessed. ID need no power all this week w/ DH gone. Spoke too soon the dogs are barking and the storm is booming. Making me super dizzy. Took some migraine meds for sure.
Got zero done and am so irritated. I want to clean the main bedroom theres still L.O. stuff from kids days like extra kids blankets and clothes I need to let go of.
02-24-2017, 07:33 PM
ILC-I'll tell ya Ds trashed our and I threw out 2 huge garbage bags of stuff, about 50 cans of paint wenet ot recycle and then I quit. DH went in there and cluttered up the bench top by taking everything off the floor when it flooded. I just want to brain him because thats where it will stay. I need to grab him etween trip and just Want this, want that. But he keep way too much. Years ago I had painted it and gotten rubbermaid drawers and smart bits drawers all organized but everyone blew that up too. DH "made a new stand out of wood for the fan I was going to toss. I mean frugal and monster inventions are diff. $20. for a new fan,so toss it. Use your time to clean it. IK it will come down to me,as always.

Well, DH went and did the shopping this evening, with no prompting from me and no complaining! He bought a HUGE bag of puffed rice cereal and two giant bags of marshmallows. LOL, never seen one that big before. He bought all the vegetables I asked for, I promised him soup tomorrow and he loves soup.
ILC, we had a tool storage problem here too. 3 of everything and can't find 1 in the mess. So one year for Valentine's or Father's Day I went down to Sears and got one of those big rolling tool chests on sale. And the following year I got the chest that sits on top of it.
Dlrcpa, thanks, I have a recipe. My problem was we were out of cocoa powder and chocolate, and I had asked DH to buy a mix and he forgot. I like to stock up on the mixes when they are 88c. But tonight he bought two tins of cocoa, so I see brownies in my future.
Had clouds move through but still dry here. Below freezing tonight. I don't think they have a clue what is going on tomorrow.
02-25-2017, 08:27 AM
CH-wow we never go that low~!I can get $1. on cake and brownies but thats about it. So nice he shopped. Hope things are still progressing well.
So IDK if anyone is interested but Discountmags.com is having a 48hr. sale for $4.90 on many magazine subscriptions. I got weight watchers for $4.90/6 and waived $4.30/6 2nd year. I figure It couldnt hurt. Trying to eat healthy and lose 40# this year(to start). Down 8#,went up 1# and now back to 8# off.
Gotta make a quick groc. run for meds and Kroger has green grapes for .99# and I find they suit me better than pop and I'm working to move away from processed sugar. Also FYI DD is right. Pineapple juice worked so well to flush a lot of the congestion out of my body. Feeling much better that way.
try out my new vaccumn
play w/ stamps and read a bit
quick groc. stop
maybe get a sub for lunch-no sauce/eat 1/2 w/ water. (Arbys)

Good morning. It is sunny, but 36. Taking the morning easy as I will be spending the afternoon well into the night helping with a huge dinner/auction fundraiser for the soup kitchen. I probably won't need to be rocked to sleep tonight.
02-25-2017, 01:32 PM
Hello all, seems everyone is busy. I have not gotten any big projects done, but taking care of daily & weekly chores pretty well.
Today I have DD1's little girl who is 2. The ex son in law called & asked me if I would keep her today &
overnight. When he dropped her off, the new wife came to the door too & I met her for the first time. I know she is very nice, but it is still hard to believe he is married already ( 4 months after the divorce). So having fun with the little one. She helped put laundry in washer & dryer, played with dolls, then lunch & she is down for a nap. I think we will make cookies when she wakes up.
Went to a quarter auction last night with DD1 & 6 of her previous in-laws. It was fun, but I did not come home with anything. It was a benefit for Relay for Life, so a good cause.
Yesterday it was 70 degrees & today it is snowing...
02-25-2017, 05:33 PM
I got my 4 things done although I want to spend more time on the paid work this evening. I made corn muffins and buttermilk bread w/ cinnamon chips instead of regular bread. Making chili for supper so the corn muffins for that. I hope for cheap bread at Safeway tomorrow. I just informed hubby he needs to deal w/ all the dirty pots & pans. Sunday:
2. paid work at home
3 ???? would like to spend more time at garden, depends on the weather.
02-25-2017, 07:39 PM

02-25-2017, 08:14 PM
I think I have perfected the art of doing nothing this week. Some of the dizzyness went away so i did a small Kroger shop and got my meds. Tried to nap 2x but Mackey had other ideas. IDK where the day went except I was only computer a lot.
Gotta grab something to eat and maybe go to bed. Can this whatever itis be over please. Starting to wear on my self worth.
Hope everyones doing well
02-26-2017, 01:40 PM
The gala for the soup kitchen was a huge success, but I was really tired when I got home last night. DH let me sleep in this morning. I am doing laundry and that is about it today along with cutting coupons.
02-26-2017, 04:52 PM
My visit with GD went well. We made cookies, she got to crack an egg & pour stuff in the mixer ( with help). She requested spaghetti for supper & ate like a champ. She really speaks plainly for a 2yo and knows what she is talking about.
She slept all night & was an angel in church. she needed a nap, but I wanted her to eat lunch first. Her dad came early & she was happy to see him, but then had a little melt down as they were leaving. He is not good about making sure she has her nap, so I hope they were going straight home, or she will not hold up.
We had baked steak & mashed potatoes for lunch. It was yummy & have enough for two more meals. May put one in the freezer.
Coming week will be busy. DH's birthday is Wednesday, so we will do something small, Then Sunday we are having all the kids & grands over for dinner.
This week I need to get my menu together & get cleaning & shopping scheduled. I can't do everything in one day so will need to parse it out.
We had snow on the ground this AM, but it is mostly melted. It was 27 degrees when we went to church.
Everyone have a relaxing Sunday afternoon!
02-26-2017, 05:09 PM

02-26-2017, 05:54 PM
Had a quiet peaceful day and vaccumned a few areas w/ more to go. Did 1/2 the litter boxes and got a barrel out for tomorrow. Looked at coupons but nothing. Trying to eat better and plan days in advance. I weigh again tomorrow.
02-26-2017, 06:39 PM
Church, breakfast, made cookies, then took special-needs nephew to see Singin' in the Rain on the big screen. For the rest of the day I have to go through coupons, look at calendar for next week, and straighten up the den.
02-26-2017, 06:53 PM
ILC, how sweet of you to take your nephew. I have two special needs relatives & I know it is quite a challenge in unfamiliar surroundings. Hope you both enjoyed the show.
02-27-2017, 08:52 AM
Still cloudy and maybe rain. Unless the weather changes, guess I will put off gardening until tomorrow. Working at the soup kitchen this morning and I have some ironing to do, but DH has to fix the cord on my iron first.
02-27-2017, 09:17 AM

02-27-2017, 01:16 PM
Winkie, thanks. My nephew (actually my best friend's son) was born at 24 weeks and has had many issues due to that. Can't do math at all but he reads/comprehends at about 7th grade level. Good verbal skills but poor muscle tone and many other physical problems. I got him interested in old classic movies and now we go see them whenever they're playing close by. He's a real joy, delightful and lovable. He has a heart for God and is a great little prayer warrior. He'll be 27 next month and his family and mine will celebrate by going to see the new Beauty and the Beast movie. He has a big-time crush on Emma Watson who plays Belle. :)
fw, how's the dizziness? It's not fun, I know. Vertigo hit me Saturday morning and I was able to knock it out by sleeping for a couple of hours.

I cut up the Christmas tree for yard waste pick-up on Wednesday. I'll go change & wash the sheets now. I have more paid work to do this evening. Don't know where hubby is so I'll eat salad for supper without him.
02-27-2017, 08:00 PM
Got ironing done, plants watered, some repotted, and half of my flower bed done. Now time for me to watch tv.
02-27-2017, 08:37 PM
I want to make prime rib for DH's party with the family, but I don't know where to find it. I have checked Sam's, Krogers & today I checked @ GFS- no luck. I am going to call Krogers tomorrow & see if they will get it for me. If not, there is a butcher shop in the next town, but I have never been there. After GFS, I stopped by Big Lots, thinking I would get Birthday napkins & dessert plates- they had nothing. Then I went to the party store & napkins were $1.60 for 16 napkins, but I needed more than one pack & they only had one pack of the ones I picked. 10 cents per napkin seems expensive to me, so I passed. The dessert plates were 20 cents each...
Tomorrow I have to find a roast, or choose something else- maybe turkey...
02-28-2017, 07:39 AM
ILC-much better. I actually got 2 loads of laundry in process and cleared a strip in my dumping ground and apparently even one elses-my room. It has a far way to go but I got the ceiling fan vaccumned and that was great.Course now i have a stiff neck.lol
See sawing back and forth on 1# of weight. Maybe now I can move more and lose it.And the popcorn is all gone-ooof. Starting to cut back more, off the pop and eating better so a start in the right direction. Heading back to bed for more rest then laundry today, lots.
02-28-2017, 08:28 AM
Suppose to be warm and cloudy today. Working at the clothing room this morning and then paying bills. Hope to get the rest of the flower bed cleaned today. Been watching the giraffe in New York on You Tube. She still hasn't had that baby.
02-28-2017, 05:14 PM
Aw, giraffe baby sounds cute. Tonight: exercise class (I was bad and skipped last week), do surveys, start donation bag for clothing and misc. stuff. Also trim the fur on dog's feet. We see the vet Saturday, need to look sharp.
02-28-2017, 05:26 PM
Sam's will have my roast ready Friday afternoon! Woo Hoo!
I will be on the other side of town when I go to the dentist, so there are three stores I want to go to. Krogers, ollies & a veggie market.
02-28-2017, 06:35 PM

02-28-2017, 07:23 PM
Bought DH 4 pairs of shoes online from Kmart on their BOGO 1/2 off plus I had surprise points?? So I paid $76. shipped
Then i put thru a stamp order, got a groc. and, insulin shop in,paid the garbage for 6 mo. yesterday and had bought a new sump pump. The fraud prevention shut down the card for unusual activity.lol No it was me. Kinda a testament to the frugality I ususally use but you have to buy stuff sometimes. I just been sick and not doing anything much. Mays as well run it thru the CC and get the points.
Ermadunk-these good. DH works from home when hes here and I got it from $195. to $155. now because he is traveling.I also do less laundry, cooking etc.
So winkie-anything good at Ollies??
03-01-2017, 07:25 AM
Good morning. Doing laundry and going to the post office. That's about it for me.
03-01-2017, 11:41 AM
I'm through paying March's bills so for the rest of the day I need to organize some paperwork, vacuum downstairs, go through a box of my parents' stuff, and stay current on my Bible study homework. For supper we're having grilled burgers and I'll make a dessert and some sides.
03-01-2017, 12:47 PM
I need to go through the current stack of bills, myself.
So Monday as I was trying to wrangle dinner -- by myself-- I took a tumble. Tripped over something, maybe a cat and the scooter went sideways and I ended up putting my bad foot down hard and then knocking myself hard on the cabinets on the way down. Nothing broken, but the foot swelled up again. Woke up yesterday feeling sore and crappy.
Swelling is down today and I feel much better.
I looked over the grocery ads this morning. Not a lot of great deals but everybody has canned tuna for .49 for Lent. It's asparagus season, too. We love it. One store has butter for 1.49, yay! Still mostly living off the stockpile I put up in January.
We had about 15 minutes of rain last night before storms moved off east. Hope no one got hit by those tornadoes.
I think dinner tonight is going to be chili and leftovers, despite what the menu plan says. It's cold and the fridge is full of containers.
03-01-2017, 03:23 PM
Haven't got much done here today went into town.Sun is shining and wind is blowing and it is cold today after a stormy night.Hope everyone is having a good day.
03-01-2017, 07:37 PM
CH sorry you fell. Can you sit down on the scooter and still reach the counter? Upper body strength comes in handy.
Another crappy night of just 2 hours sleep. The lunatic new bosses really are getting to me. So not much energy to go around. Raisin bread in the bread machine for breakfast. I took surveys on Surveymonkey Contribute and earned a few $ for my charity of choice. Close to $10 so far. My co-worker does crossword puzzles online at lunch, why not earn something for charity instead?
03-01-2017, 10:28 PM
FW- no, nothing exciting @ Ollies. I had to take back a set of curtains. I looked around & spent $10.00, mostly on junk for a goodie bag for DH's birthday today.
CH - sorry to hear you took a spill, glad the swelling is going down.
Our area has the tuna on sale too & I am all stocked up. No sales on butter though.
We had bad wind last night that woke me up & I had a fleeting thought that maybe we should go to the basement, but I fell back asleep, so I guess it didn't worry me too much... More wind advisories tonight.
Busy day today
Worked 8 hours- took a shower during my lunch break
Went to dentist & the three stores I wanted, then got home & put stuff away just in time for DH to get home. We went to the steak house down the road & got half price appetizers & drank a beer. That was his birthday "dinner". Yes I am a tightwad! He will have a nice party with the family on Sunday.
Tomorrow is cleaning day! Will try to do all the floors, see what needs dusted.
Hope everyone has a great evening!
03-02-2017, 07:27 AM
Took a day off and had my casino day. I was about ready to leave when I sat down and won $815 on a penny machine. Needless to say I paid bills. I left immediately. Didn't spend buy $20 of my own. Woo!Hoo! DH is leaving today for San Antonio for a few days for the state basketball tournament. I have a theatre meeting this afternoon. Not going to do much today.
03-02-2017, 11:49 AM
That is TERRIFIC!
Congrats on the win
03-02-2017, 06:53 PM
GB big smile for your win. We know how to stretch those dollars. :vs_closedeyes:
Worked at home today for the sake of my sanity. Back to the office Friday. I cooked the last pumpkin from the garage. It was still good. Pumpkin pie this weekend. Hubby discussed next week's schedule at dinner. Sounds like I don't need to cook Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. Yay! Friday I need to brush the dog and clean his ears again. Vet visit Saturday morning.
03-02-2017, 10:57 PM
Quiet in the house tonight and no cooking for a couple of days. DH is gone. Did get some sewing done today. Trying to use up scraps.
03-03-2017, 01:44 AM
GB wow know who to take IF I ever go.
CH-ooh so sorry. Dh has been getting on a ladder all week and I have been Pissed at him. He got this amazing break that he healed and can walk. I mean no one else there has "ladder skill" and which cabke to pull is rocket science.
Everyone else HEY!! I didn laundry yesterday and day before and got a good handle on clothes. now towels and bedding-not so much. Cleaning the dresser/tv/vcr/blue ray stack up DH has set up in my room. screwed up the tv but got it back and reset the settings. Thats big for me. I should know how to work all this cable/computer crap including the setup down stairs for WIFI. And the water systems. This house has quirks. because we are using stuff past its prime. I ordered and got a new sump. I asked DH to let me install it but I want him home in case something odd fall apart. We cannot go 12 hrs. w/o one.
Got the 4 pairs of shoes I ordered for DH and they got the pairs right w/ right and a left shoe too.wow. I figure staying out of the store saved temptation and time.
Much less dizzyness. I hope I start to gain momentum again. I had hoped to catch up on some of the dishes before DH get back tomorrow late.
So Alica Keys is my new OMG entertainer since she belted out the ABC"S in Jimmy Kimmels game of copying singers. She did the most awe inspiring copy of Adelles style.I need to check out her music more..
