Pine - hope you feel better soon.
I'm making large batch of mashed potatoes (actually I peeled and hubby will cook and mix them). Going to freeze much of these.
After supper - sewing and read the library book that must be returned. I should also work on the club newsletter.

wholly cow FW, wow, that's a lot of meds! I am on a bpm, but only take 1/2 tablet, they are really tiny, then my 1/2 heart pills, well plus all the other junk, I'm down to 7 now, that's including my aspirin. I don't want anymore!
I have mine in a weekly pill box, then in the morning, my computer reminds me to take them, I have a habit of not eating in the morning, and some of those need taken kinda early, and I have to eat first. I have been having breakfast at around 1 pm, lately, yeah ,I know..... My calcium, I take one a week, but cannot have anything to eat, and cannot eat or drink for 30 min. after taking the pill.. what a pain!! Guess I not taking much and should just be thankful!! Hope your meds work out soon!
Wow you have a new house!! This was built in 1902, really...Sewer came in late here to but not sure when , ours is the old clay tile sewer, costs too much to run pipe nowdays.
dircpa, are you making any hashbrowns? They are really easy to make too. Thanks for the well wiishes.
01-03-2017, 06:39 PM
Pine tree all perspective. My last house was 1948. So yeah. But so many new subs here-no. We are at the stage that SO many things need sprucing and replacing. Oh I take folic acid 2x a day and a gummy vitamin 2x,and another BP and lipitor,B-12. I should be taking calcium but when? Oh also 2 insulins-one rescue and one long lasting. Like I said-a mess.
It isnt funny but we are city folk used to sewer and city water. So i kept telling DH the pump sounded funny-its fine, water pressures down-its fine. OK DEAR then why is there sand in the upstair bathroom drain. We had a holes and it was sucking dirt. He's blowing out the door for England and I got 2 young kids and no water. The guy comes out and says he cant get down the road and even if he could there is too much ice build up because its January. What a trip. Luckily we got it back a week later. About $2600. but the grossest part was that the cap wasnt sealed on and he said we were prob. having tons of bugs get in there!.
01-03-2017, 07:36 PM
Pinetree, sorry you are sick. My shingle blisters are starting to dry up, but they are still kind of sensitive. I am on the taper off stage of the serious. FW, you sure do have a lot of meds. It is scary that you get dizzy from them.
I got my list done. Putting the shelves together prompted a closet cleaning. Did the first sweep anyway. Have a box of books to pass on, and got DH to go through a box of papers that are now on their way to the shredder. Found DD#1's scrapbook I made when she graduated & it brought tears to my eyes.
I washed my Christmas table cloth & thought I ruined it, I carelessly added the holiday towel in the same load. I rewashed it & I think it is ok. I put beans to soak & will try my luck at crock pot bean soup tomorrow.
Work on packing bathroom
01-03-2017, 08:30 PM
I got my list done
Go pay some bills
Go walMart get light bulbs and furance filters probably few groceries
clean utility room
01-04-2017, 06:42 AM
Morning! We didn't get Christmas put away entirely so will finish that today. We need to go to the gym and I need to change sheets and do a load of laundry.
CH I'm sorry for your loss. As for the brown and white kitty I hope he comes back. A few years ago my sister had a feral cat that came and went in her yard. She put out food for him and left him alone. When winter came she worried and put a wooden box under the deck with a light bulb in it covered with a can. She tucked blankets or something in there too. She snapped on the light at night so it warmed the box and he would sneak into it at night and sleep there. Eventually he got so he'd come up on the deck but would run if she came out. They progressed slowly and now he's an indoor cat :) He goes out in the summer but in the winter he's 100% indoors, uses the litter box and is quite happy to be a family member. So brown and white kitty may get to that stage too. Once he's used to seeing you move around he might settle down and appear more often.
Pinetree how are you feeling today?
Winkie so sorry to hear you've been dealing with the shingles. I had a bout of that several years back and it was brutal. Just miserable.
01-04-2017, 09:14 AM
These Christmas decorations just don't want to be gone! I got them all packed away, now I just need to move them out to the storeroom.
I got my new electric lawnmower yesterday. Of course, I had to take it out and see how it worked. There's no grass to mow and the leaves are too wet to mulch, but it ran beautifully! So simple to start - hold down a button and pull back the handle. It's not self-propelled, but it's very light and easy to push. Hopefully, that will still be the case when there is actually grass to cut.
Pinetree, once I'm able to actually use it to cut grass or mulch leaves, I'll let you know how it works. I was able to use my Discover cashback bonus and got it from Amazon for $93.82. Then I spent another $40 for a heavy duty extension cord.
I cooked a roast in the crockpot overnight. Just put it in the fridge to get cold so it will be easy to slice. Also put the juices in there so I can remove the fat easily and thicken it for gravy.
Move those decorations to the storeroom!
Slice up that roast, make the gravy and cook some vegetables to go with it. I'm thinking cabbage and carrots.
Start sorting thru my closet for items to donate. There will be a lot
01-04-2017, 09:27 AM
Good morning. So sorry to hear that many of you are sick and on so many meds. I am down to only my blood thinner and I'm going to make an appointment with my neurologist to see if I can get off it or get a milder one.
Walked 1.68 miles yesterday as the front was blowing in. The sun is out but it is really cold. Going to bundle up and do it again today. Have to wonder if it is better to die from stroke/heart attack or freeze to death. Today:
vacuum and mop floors
01-04-2017, 12:44 PM
CHAOS. Ds got married yesterday and texted Dad in an oh by the way text. He deploys today. She started a FB acct so we can "get to know" her. I am devistated. I now have to take off to get DD. She is staying a few days to clean out the room. What could go wrong. Everyone in my life acts like they are nuts.??
01-04-2017, 12:47 PM
winkie, ugh, glad to hear you are doing ok, BF, had them she had to get a shot so many weeks after having them.. I feel so bad for people getting them, it looks just horrible. I hope yours are gone very fast!
erma, You are really doing good with your lists!! WTG!
Hikr,, hi!!, I'm here, does that sound positive, cause thats all I got! Thanks for asking!
wj, wow that's a nice looking lawnmower! Yes, let me know how she does! um I never thought about the extension cord, that might be a problem.. I have a hedge trimmer that's electric, and I always cut thru the big orange extension cords, it has now been taken away from me, hahaha... wonder if I would mow over this one. lol
Gbug, you need my electric throw to take with you on your walks to keep you warm, wtg on that distance!! lol, and the extension cord.
They took me off thinners after 6 months, now all I have is the little aspirin I take everyday. I am on my heart pills for the rest of my life.
CH, Keep it up with the kittens, all of mine were that way, even my old ones. they need to come out of their survival mode and learn to trust you, It takes time, but is so worth it. Sweet Pea, was like that, now she the one that wont leave my side..
We have heat lamps outside for the ones we cant get in, every once in awhile another stray is seen out there warming up.. I would hate to see someone freeze or starve when I can help..
Tine, thinking about you,, hope your doing great on your tests..
ILC , ok now I am starting to worry.. Hope all is well...
Well we are ready for the next storm, should be here this afternoon, yippee a foot of snow... foothills are looking at 2 feet! ugh.. the kids are suppose to fly out Sat, the airport is already canceling flights.. so wlll see what happens.. they really don't want to miss the convention, but may have no choice. When this new airport was built, they said it would never have weather problems, hahaha, for one they built it in the middle of tornado alley, and the weather out there is horrible... this is suppose to last for a few days.. ugh.. I sure am not a fan of cold weather anymore...
I wanted to be all better , but,, my throat is worse than yesterday, so I'm just doing nothing and staying warm... at least I am not getting the flu, so far.. so I'm lucky there...
Stay warm and have a great day everyone!
01-04-2017, 02:26 PM
Was 11 this morning when I got up and went to yoga. Not bad now in the sun, it is 20 out.
FW, I hope your DS stays safe and you and your new DiL get along well. GB, hope your walk is not too cold!
Have not seen the porch cats today, the grey one has not been around for a couple days. I think she has a home, though. I hope so, it is too cold for pets outside, even furry ones. I can't put food out for them because we have a raccoon problem in this area, and I can't prevent them from getting at it. If I open the door to put food out while the cats are here, they just bolt and don't come back.
Yesterday started out well, and then while I was organizing some hobby stuff the blankity-blank earring fell out again. The stud fell on my foot. No idea where the back is, I will probably not find it this time. Just as well, I can't wear them if they keep falling out.
Stopped at the grocery this morning, they had a few good deals. Bacon wrapped beef tenders for 1.99, canned mandarins for .88 and .78, Lean Cuisine entrees 1.66, and Gorton's fish 2.99. Not fancy, but stuff DH can prepare. The .78 can of mandarins is on sale all month so I will get more of those (they were limit 1) later. I love them on spinach salad.
Going to make a big batch of oatmeal raisin cookies this afternoon. Then broccoli soup for dinner.
We are supposed to get snow tonight, they are saying 4-6", but I don't think it will be that much, personally.
Take care, everyone.
01-04-2017, 03:55 PM
pinetree, I'm fine, I went to the library yesterday and have finished one book and started another. So don't worry about me! You just rest and get well. Call the doctor---strep throat is going around here and other places, and you sure don't need that.
I didn't watch all the Sugar Bowl. It was just too frustrating. Oh well. I still love my team.
Your kitties really have it good. :)
I've been checking your location on the weather channel website. Gracious, it's cold out there.
fw, wow. Just...wow. Well, here's hoping that your DS's wife is a nice person that you'll end up loving.
Did DD show up? You mentioned going to get her?? Our DD sent us a long and sappy text about how much she loves us, blah blah blah, and she promises to spend more time with us, blah, blah, blah. She was supposed to come over yesterday but of course she didn't show up and of course we haven't heard from her. I keep telling DH we need to put the monetary Christmas gift back in the bank but he "just can't do that to my sweet baby girl."
Winkie, I'm glad the shingles is (are?) getting better somewhat.
hikr, welcome back!
Gbug, that cold front is headed toward us. Saturday's high will be in 30s with a 60% chance of rain and snow.
Jean, did you get your car washed? I'm like you--why pay money when I can do it myself.
Tine, hope all is going well at school.
CH, my favorite vegetable salad is baby spinach, lots of thinly-sliced red onion, mandarin oranges, coarsely chopped pecans, and raspberry vinegrette, which I think I misspelled. I can't eat cooked spinach but raw spinach is awesome.
ermadunk, sorry about your water bill. Our cable bill went up $5 this month, and the last three months of last year it went up a couple of dollars a month. We're looking at alternatives. We love our internet through them but the cable stinks.
Sorry about anyone I missed.
Yesterday I went to Dollar Tree, Kroger, and library. I now have three frozen turkeys in the freezer, each bought for 79 cents a pound, plus I got two pounds of Smithfield bacon for 2.99 each. I also made restaurant reservations for our retired group's luncheon later this month and sent out a reminder email to everyone. Got my hair cut and colored this morning and we've got church tonight. I've emptied/reloaded the dishwasher, done some dishes by hand, changed the litter box, and done some decluttering. For supper we're having leftovers from the past few nights.
1) Aldi and Walmart
2) Do laundry
3) Keep an eye on The Weather Channel
4) Keep up with Bible study homework
01-04-2017, 04:11 PM
All 3 done today
1- do some baking cake and probably bananas muffins
2-clean in guest bed room it got to been a catch all.
3-recopy my freezer and pantry list
01-04-2017, 04:52 PM
ILC, lol, I never thought about reading,, the mind kept going to someone being sick,, gotta think positive!!
your cats are the same way!!
Yep, put the money back in the bank. sounds like someone needs to learn theres circumstances to things..
FW, I'm sorry, I would be so disappointed...Wow, I know we use to do that in the 70's but thought these kids had learned from it... maybe they got married so she can pay his bills, since his checks will go right to her now?
CH, like these? this is 2 of the 4 babies from this year.
FW2--This could be a blessing in disguise. Get to know your DIL and things may change.
Pinetree--Thanks for the encouragement. I hate taking meds. Walked another 1.68 this evening. It was invigorating. I did wear a hat and gloves.
01-04-2017, 09:03 PM
pinetree-IDK he has no CC bill from before as I just paid $579. at Christmas to help him out as he was deploying and i knew he had a low limit and he needed a storage unit. His bills are set on auto so?? She isnt preggers, they knew each other a month and he convinced her to do this according to her "he asked". I guess her family is furious too. He shut his facebook off to anything but texts. She runs a housekeeping business according to her and has a big cute dog.She was sporting a pretty nice ring. When I facebook friended her she called me ma'am and apologised a bunch of times. Idk where or how they met,or her maiden name or much. DD has been chatting back and forth as positively as possible to gain info. Idk if this is a catfish con or as real as it gets after a month. This impusive stuff can be my DS. He drove seperate to his graduation and left directly after it as we stood stupidly waiting for him to come out after for pictures, DH said he could drive seperate and i should have yelled no louder. It seems the Army didnt mature him as much as i"d hoped. I need some time to sort this one out.
ILC.-picked up DD where she is living and had lunch at KFC. Drve back and shes cleanig out her stuff from the bathroom. And had paties w/ us and is now working on the room. We are getting along ok but I am not just interested in a visit this time. We need big progress on her mess.
Got nothing done today for obvious reasons.
-put away 3 loads of laundry I just washed
-call for Mackey to get meds and an appt. for HW and tail check
-work more on hand washing some dishes
-run into the wall head first until I pass out-JK mostly.
I still have to call dmom=yuck.
01-04-2017, 09:05 PM
GB-always the nice spin. So shocked right now. When he went to college he left me his dog,The Army another dog.OK this is a bit much. lol
01-04-2017, 09:08 PM
FW- I can only imagine your dissappointment. Hang in there. Hope your visit with your DD went ok.
Pinetree, you need to get well!
Everyone is so busy, I need to take notes to keep up with everyone. CH, maybe you can get different backs for those earrings.
I got my list done. Ran dishwasher, load of clothes, took out compost, cleaned fridge. Made soup. The soup did not get done. Soaking the beans 24 hours, then cooking in crockpot all day & they were still hard. Put it all in the pressure cooker. For 40 minutes & they got done! They need a little more seasoning, not sure what. Worked on clearing closet in bathroom. Man do I have a lot of crap! I have enough shampoo & lotion, etc for the entire county. Threw some away, some is getting donated to the police department. So tomorrow I need more work on BR, contractors will be here Monday. Need to unload & reload DW.
01-04-2017, 10:02 PM
Winkie-DD will be here a few days She needs to clean out her room. And visit her animals.
In a more whimsical bent-Mackey has gathered all the Christmas toys and stuffed them under the cushion of his couch, I got home and he had krunckle face. Which ususally means he thinks he's in trouble. Hunter has been breaking them all and even got 1 outside pat Dh. I just had to laugh because we are talking 20 or more toys. and he waas trying to get the cushion back on. Smart dog/dumb dog.
01-05-2017, 03:25 AM
I haven't read your posts since I posted.
I'm on my way to an 8 hour outdoor field trip to the nature area we're working on in our asignments. It's cold, windy, and snowing today, so I hope I can keep warm.
The Eastern and Southern coasts of Denmark had up to 6 ft floods yesterday and it's still causing truble this morning. The storm last week pushed a lot of sea water into the Baltic Sea, and it is on it's way back to the North Sea now. As far as I know none of my family is affected of the flood. The vacation home at the sea is on a Western score.
Have a nice day.
01-05-2017, 09:42 AM
wow, my head is spinning from all the stuff that happened. I hope some things get resolved anyway.
Furnace not working this morning. I think this is the first time it has been really cold for a while. The humidifier leaked before Christmas and got stuff wet but we thought we had dealt w/ it. The repair guy is supposed to be there this morning.
Tonight make something with leftover pumpkin - prob sugar-free tapioca. Do exercise DVD. I am throwing Christmas goodies in the freezer so I won't eat them.
01-05-2017, 11:01 AM
Some of you will laugh, I know, but we got an inch of snow last night and today all the schools and many businesses are closed. I'm told there's a lot of ice and slick spots on the roads and that is why. It is 9F this morning, going below 0 tonight. We're supposed to be back to 50F by Monday. DH is "working" from home today.
I think I am going to get out the stock pots and the chicken bones, that will help warm up the house too.
01-05-2017, 11:14 AM
CH-yeah sorry gotta. We got an inch too and its barely worth mentioning here except to say we sure are getting off easy so far.
Going to go make breakfast. I have 2 loads of laundry to put away and a few blankets to throw in
call the vet
01-05-2017, 12:46 PM
Walked again 1.68 miles yesterday. Plan on doing it agin today even though it is very cold. We are suppose to get a little snow tomorrow. We will have a dusting as opposed to the rest of you. I spent the morning finishing a paperback and doing a load of laundry.
Sewing on quilt
Making spinach fettucini alfredo for dinner
01-05-2017, 01:12 PM
CH we have maybe 8 inches, I thought your weather was a lot like ours, but an inch wont shut anything down here, we just drop down a gear and plow thru!! lol. we are going to get down to -14, but that's wind chill.. its plenty cold tho the furnace wont shut down.. yea Monday 50* yippee..
Tine, Thanks for the link, its beautiful there, I hope you enjoy your field trip, even if it is cold..
dircpa, lol, that's a good place for things you don't want to eat, my problem is I found out I love frozen chocolate! lol
I hope you furnace gets fixed right away.. seems we are all having heat problems this year.
Gbug, I am so green with envy, my gosh, didn't the Dr. tell you to strengthen your legs? and you are walking that much in 2 days? wow my hero!! WTG!! keep it up!! Sure wish I could walk with you!!
ILC, did you get snow? I her Atlanta might get some, I'm hoping for ya.. even if its just flurries...
FW, You will never guess what was on the news last night... yep you son,,, here it is. on the news they showed a bunch of guys, but I can't find that part. hugs
I'm getting my heated throw, and shopping for a giant real looking pig, that's is a bank. I need one for DB birthday. he broke mine I gave him in 1973! so I need to replace. Only thing is.. I got it in Mexico, so don't know it I can find one here.. thinking maybe a ceramic shop might have something?
I'm sneezing and nose is running so hoping this is just a cold with a sore throat?
I made a huge batch of Cornish game hen soup to last me, maybe 3 weeks!! So I'm all set. my meal planning sure is easy right now! hahaha.....
today another big goose egg.
stay warm and have a great day.
01-05-2017, 02:28 PM
Pinetree, we do sometimes get a lot more snow than this. I think it is the icy roads that had people concerned this morning. Our winter comes late, so people haven't driven much yet this season.
We get snow, blizzards, wind, horrendous ice storms, below freezing temps in winter, and high heat, high humidity, months without rain and then tornadoes in the summer. It's the best of both worlds, really.
It does sound like you are getting a cold. Take care of yourself.
Pinetree-thats the bunch. Poor Dh is trying to deal w/ all this. He is so angry but all over the place too. Let pray that the little bleep hole stays safe.
Ch-I can smell it!
Got a huge migraine from the stress. We were all just getting over the events of Christmas. DD is here and working on the giant mess. She has got 3.5 barrels full. A small hole has appreared in teh chaos of clutter,I'll take it as a start.
Ravioli w/ garlic bread for dinner. Frozen of course. Gotta get dh lunch.
Then call the vet. DD has the wash for bedding.
01-05-2017, 04:50 PM

01-05-2017, 07:21 PM
Now we're being told NOT to count on any snow, that it's going to be north of here. We are going to get more rain after the 6.79 inches we got last weekend. And the temps will be low 20s at night to low 40s for the daytime till Tuesday or Wednesday.
CH, your weather sounds as crazy as ours.
I hope everyone's broken heat systems get fixed quickly.
pinetree, are you feeling better?
Today I did a little more decluttering, some laundry, cleaned out the fridge, took out the trash and recycling, and did some financial stuff with DH. It was a beautiful sunny day, 61 degrees, and too nice to do too much inside. Since the next few days will be rainy and cold I decided to catch up on Bible study homework during the weekend since I plan on going nowhere till Sunday.
1) Bible study homework
2) Finish laundry---sofa slipcover, throw rugs, sheets
3) Work in our bedroom and my closet
4) Plan menus
5) Vacuum downstairs
01-05-2017, 09:13 PM
D-cpa-hope its fixed.
ILC-tomorrow is declutter and VACCUMNING day. I got Dh to lose the tree. Mackey is sad. He hates when "his CHRITMASS tree leaves. I mean he seriously get glum. He like a permanent 4 yr ols. BUT I cant breathe better. I hope the headaches vacate now.
01-06-2017, 09:10 AM
Very cold here with a chance of snow dusting. Today I am going to brace the cold and: work at soup kitchen, mail pkgs., get my freebies at Kroger. Don't forget to download your free tortilla chips today. Tonight DH and I will go to Outback Steakhouse with a GC and celebrate 39 year anniversary.
01-06-2017, 09:21 AM
We have heat although the system needs a part to work entirely correctly. We have a yearly service contract so it's nice, we are always top of the list if there's a problem and no charge for minor parts or the service call.
Tonight: make lasagne
01-06-2017, 09:56 AM
It was 0F this morning. Dh went in to work an hour late.
I confirmed yesterday that two of the packages I mailed back in December failed to arrive at their destinations, one to Australia, one to North Carolina. I have tracking numbers and receipts but since the USPS doesn't guarantee delivery, that means diddly squat to them. I am just SOL. So I'm planning to go out today and do a little replacement shopping. Feeling frustrated and angry.
Evening engagement with friends tomorrow and I need to look at the pantry and find something for potluck dinner. Another potluck Sunday, but I already know what to make for that crowd.
Chicken stock sat overnight and today it needs to get skimmed and strained and put in the freezer.
No grocery ads again this week. I looked at them online and didn't see a whole lot. I need to get milk if I go out today. I have most of next week's menu planned from the pantry and freezer already.
Happy Anniversary GB! Enjoy your night out.
Dlrcpa, I hope your heat gets fixed soon!
Everyone else, stay warm!
01-06-2017, 10:02 AM
chilly here again. I think it was 19 forcast? Yesterday it hit below zero after sundown w/ windchill. All the snow is in the westerm part of the state. Definately a factor to remember for retirement. My new bestie is my space heater.
Promised DH french toast. DD is still here but is the room sleeping. I'll feed her and see if she can get moving.
move couch and clean in and under,Mackey will not like this!lol
vaccumn stairs,kitchen and breakfast area
Clean down old coffeemaker
01-06-2017, 10:32 AM
CH-sorry about the packages. DD is getting bad ratings on her sewing business from the post office losing several around Christmas. IK they finally found them but social media can sink a business in a minute now.
DH got his business reimb. and of course they shorted us. He worked shut down week but of course he wasnt paid. Nor was he paid for his passport renewal. The frist of the year is just 1 big shakedown! Krogers ad is rap this week too.
01-06-2017, 12:03 PM
Just putting this out there, I am a slob & a procrastinator! There. Does admitting it start the healing process, like in AA?......
01-06-2017, 04:44 PM
Winkie, let's start a group called SPA---Slobs and Procrastinators Anonymous! I bet tons of folks would find it helpful. I would.
dlrcpa, glad you have some heat.
Gbug, congrats on your anniversary.
fw, bummer about the short paycheck. Glad DD is actually getting something done in her room.
CH, maybe from now on you should ship FedEx or UPS. I've always had good luck with USPS but that's all it is----luck.
ermadunk, stay warm.
pinetree, I sure hope your throat etc. feels better.
I know I missed some people---hi, stay warm.
Our forecast now says no snow, just rain and cold. Atlanta, just 80 miles up the interstate, is supposed to get up to 5 inches plus ice.
We went to Sam's for a $1.70 hot dog/large drink lunch, then ran into Aldi and Walmart since I didn't make it to either one the other day. Aldi's produce section was pretty pitiful----bought nothing. Found 2 spiral-sliced hams marked down so they're now in our freezer. The checker at Walmart said they had sold lots of milk today. I saw a number of people with lots of beer in their buggies. The Atlanta 4:00 news is showing empty shelves in area grocery stores.
For the rest of today I plan to put away everything we got today, cook a good supper, and work on menus (from yesterday). Tomorrow I plan to do the rest of yesterday's list.
01-06-2017, 05:04 PM
winkie i am a big procrastinator and i have said it several times and no it never healed me.Matter of fact i am a procrastionaation to day i just told some people i was taking a snow day and i don't get them any more have been retired several years.
ilove chocklate guess we got your snow i haven't been out but they say the roads are bad some people got killed just few miles from here and another young man truck stalled on a bridge his uncle got there to help him and some one came off hill hit his truck ran over him he in sugary they think he will make but may be crippled.
Haven't got much done on today to do list.Got towels folded put away, cleaned both bath room went in the bed room to start cleaning turned came out said if there is no tomorrow it want need cleaning. Was sick last night never got much sleep so just in a don't care mood.Going try get some things done tomorrow not sure what it will be.Everone have a good night and keep warm

ILC & ermadunk, sounds like we can get something going! I really hoped that confessing would get me on the road to recovery! I am proud to say I FINALLY got that bathroom stripped out. I took a long road around it, but now I am done. Instead of just getting in there, I found myself going through an old accordion file with 10 year old credit card receipts!!!! Why??? Next I was in my bed room, sorting through SUMMER clothes still left out! FINALLY I got in there. Threw out several curling irons, plugged in an old hair dryer that threw sparks! AND stridex... My kids haven't lived here in ten years, that stuff was OLD! So I have filled up a trash can, have two donate boxes, packed up everything & stored in spare bed room. This is the year I reclaim my house. I worked a demanding job for many years & did not take time to weed stuff out regularly. I have a big house so I just filled it up. Every closet & drawer is/was stuffed. Plus I do save stuff for "possibilities". I think I get that from being raised by depression era parents. Either that or I am just a pack rat. So now I work 32 hours a week from home.( I don't get snow days anymore either, ermadunk) . I do not need so many clothes. I am going to make myself pick out 5 or six daytime outfits, and 4-5 church/ good outfits & get rid of the rest. Shoes are going too. Don't need twelve pairs of heels to sit in my basement working on the computer. A few weeks ago I went through all the towels & passed them on. Today I packed up comforter & pillows I will give to one of my kids friends that just got an apartment. Then I am attacking my kitchen. Don't need all those cutsey containers to pack my lunch. If I can just keep up the enthusiasm!
It is cold here & snowy enough that I don't think I can get my car out of the steep drive, so I am making homemade pizza & feeling accomplished!
Have a great evening & stay warm.

CH, wow that pot looks great, I could just start picking up something out of there and start eating!
We found out years ago, that if we ship anything over sea's it is not covered as soon as it leaves United States Land. Even the business cannot ship. Insurance does you no good.

Spent the day talking and looking up things in vegas, cutting his hair, the kids leave in the morning, for 9 days..so They are going to have a blast, even tho they go back almost every year, they have fun. They are having dinner with our old fishing buddies, he has known them since he was 3, and loves spending time with them.
I have for sure caught a cold.. I'm watching it closely.. so far everything is ok. tho I do have alittle trouble breathing when my nose plugs up, so we have turned the oxygen up for awhile. I will go in if I get any worse..
