Piney I think... and I say think... if you two were married at least 10 years and you haven't remarried since him then you can collect on his. You're over full retirement age so you should be able to collect 100% of whatever he received when he died. At least this is how it used to be.

ermadunk--You sound a lot like me.

Got the hallway, bathroom, 3 bedrooms done today. Tomorrow I will finish the kitchen, clean the bedroom and bathroom, and deep clean the living room. At least all my curtains are clean. Got to start early, so DH and I can go to the high school girls basketball playoff game.

Grammarbug & Ermadunk, you are making me tired! It took me three days to just get all the floors swept!

Had a pretty good day. Worked 8 hours, washed a load of clothes and washed up some throw blankets. Then I made three pans of scalloped potatoes & ham. I always make such a mess when I make that so I do it in bulk. Got most of those dishes done, but have a few waiting for another load.

    Tomorrow
    Clean out garage fridge
    Take out compost
    Make jello

Grammarbug, do you have someone on the team, or do you just like basketball?

Winkie--I live in a small town and I use to teach at the high school. Sports in Texas is top dog. DH works at the school now in maintenance. It is basketball. Our high school has won the state championship 4 years in a row and is suppose to win again. Our school is exception to the rule. We win in band, academics and all sports. That is why our district is growing so quickly. People want to move here to put their kids in school.

Day 3 of cleaning. I have used muscles I didn't even know that I had.

New day, new week, and I need to make a plan.

    - strip the bed so DH can put clean sheets on
    - find my phone charger
    - pay bills
    - try to tidy up so a friend can visit tomorrow
    - water house plants

Winkie and GB, I am amazed at your energy level. I get one room clean and I am DONE.
Stop trying to organize all of your family’s crap. If organization worked for you, you’d have rocked it by now. It’s time to ditch stuff and de-crapify your world.

If you're not using the stuff in your home, get rid of it. You're not going to start using it more by shoving it into a closet.

Use it up, Wear it out,
Make it do, Or do without. ~unknown

fw, it is what it is with your DD. Mine too.
    Glad you got some sleep.

    For Tuesday I MUST:

    1) Clean screened porch
    2) Do some laundry
    3) Call for reservations for retired teachers' luncheon

    If time/energy hold out: raking.

Supper is easy---a smorgasbord of leftovers.

Ermadunk when I was in my 20's I was super girl. The house was immaculate and I painted walls and ripped out carpets, mowed lawns, hauled trash, did the bills, groc, etc.
in my 30's I still did all that w/ a kid in the porta crib while I mowed,in the high chair while I showered, under my arm while I changed wash over. No help ever.
in my 40's I made dinner while the kids got to school, had tons of animals I solely took care of,worked, took care of DH during his accident.
NOW I'm in my 50's I have conditions, lots of meds, the kids are gone and I move very slow, still lots of animals and Dh is still always gone. SO IDK if the house is immaculate. Life has stages and I cant and wont worry about it.
