Yesterday I moved all the plants out of the garage & on to the driveway. I moved them in when we went away for our little trip. Last night I left them out all night without the cold frame. No varmit damage!! Also yesterday I planted three baskets with impatiens I got cheap. I painted the baskets last week. One for me & one for each of my DD- late Mother's Day gift. Got both tillers started & both DH & I worked on garden until time to get ready to go to dinner with my friend. Ran into Aldi when I was in town.
Today- unloaded DW. Steamed some eggs. Working 6:00 am- 2:30 pm. Having hamburgers & steak fries for dinner. Will work more in garden this afternoon & then have church meeting @ 7:30. Then will watch basketball on tv.
Second warm day in a row!

Today: dog to vet after work. Hubby is assigned cooking duty - I bought ingredients yesterday. Maybe I can get to the garden after supper. There are some vines growing on the shared fences that need to be taken down before they turn into monsters. More laundry.
Have a good day.

Good morning. The sun is shining, but we are in for some bad storms tonight. Guess I better find out where the safest place to be in the theatre might be. DH tilled up my spent kale and spinach yesterday and going to plant okra and more zucchini probably tomorrow. Today I have to go to the costumer and pick up some things on hold, pick up show t-shirts, and then finish the crow and marmot costumes and fix elastic on a few masks. I'm definitely ready for this to all be done.

Got a lot done yesterday. Moved some pots around on the deck and cleaned it up. Put the grill back in place and moved some of the furniture. Shook out some small rugs and beat on them with a stick. Need to ask DH to put them in the wash, but they are better for now. Got some fabric cut, too. Did not get into the yard, had a storm blow through and they issued a tornado watch and I figured I better stay in.
Sore this morning. It set in last night around dinner time. Guess it shows how out of shape I am. I may try 15 minutes in the yard today, it is much calmer today and not as hot as it has been. Taking it easy today, will do a little housework and try not to stiffen up.
Everyone have a good day. GB, hope the storms aren't severe. We are on the other end of the same risk area as you. Could use some rain, but not hail.

I spent over an hour working outside. I too, have to pace myself. I can't stay out for hours on end, even though I wish I could. I used the weed eater until I ran through the three charged batteries. I used the small tiller until I ran it out of gas, then I used the big tiller until the belt came off. After that I just pulled weeds. DH came to rescue me. Showed me where the two cycle gas is, figured out the belt situation. The garden is still not totally tilled. I could start planting, but I have mixed feelings. We are going away over Memorial weekend & I don't know if I want to leave new plants. I usually water every day the first week or two...
I have to work tomorrow since I was off Monday. I appreciate my work being flexible on when I take my days off. By taking Friday & Monday I had a four day weekend. Won't get anything done tomorrow, DD1 & DGD will be here when I get done with work. Not sure what we will do.
We have storm warnings & I can hear the thunder from the basement, so we must be getting hit.
Everyone have a great evening.

Dog vet visit turned out to be a benign cyst (she aspriated clear fluid to confirm). So that was a relief, but goodbye $$$. I need to visit the chiropractor again this afternoon - goodbye more $$$. Need to be able to move and accomplish house and yard chores though. He is near the library. I will return 2 books and pick up 2 on hold for me.
Supper is meatloaf, carrots, mashed potatoes. I should bake some treats or muffins since the oven will be on. I am finishing the stir-fry chard and rice for lunch. Completed 2 loads of laundry last night so that is under control. I have cucumbers to transplant and seeds to plant Saturday. Told my brother I could stay w/ parents Sunday so he can have some free time.

Yesterday was a rest day. Spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying the great day. A friend came over and ran me to the grocery for a few things. While there I spotted a manager special on bagged shredded cheese, just 99c! I was nearly out and hadn't seen a sale in months so I bought 10 bags!
Having a cookout at a friend's house tomorrow. Survey of the pantry tells me I can make a pan of baked nachos (with extra cheese!) and take a vanilla pound cake, without spending any extra money. I could also do a macaroni salad, but since DH won't eat it, probably not.
I told DH I wanted to go to the garden center for more flowers this weekend, and to get a new piece of lattice for the deck. We use one of those giant 8ft panels to shade the deck and give us some privacy, but it got destroyed in the wind storm last month. So that is our big project.
- sweep kitchen
- cut/sew more quilt blocks
- 15 minutes of yard work
Walking is getting easier, my balance is coming back but, but it is still tiring. I had hoped the last of the wound would close over by now but it has not. It is very close though.
Dlrcpa, I am glad your dog turned out to be ok.

I went directly to the garden after breakfast and worked for 3 hours. Picked a bag of salad greens and larger bag of chard. Pulled weeds and planted seeds and 4 of 6 cucumber transplants. Held 2 smaller cukes here, will see how the first set does. I came home, dumped greens in cold water and went to grocery store. Came home, had lunch and washed greens. 1 load of laundry. Tried to nap but dog wanted to go out. Walked the dog and then started bread in the machine and beef stew to take to my parents tomorrow.
New neighbor is moving in next door. He has lots of people helping him, so glad I do not feel obligated to go over and offer. Not enough hours in the day already.

DD changed plans so no company yesterday, so I trimmed bushes right in front of the front porch. Looks so much better, the bushes were closing in the walk way. Need to keep going all around the house, but got interrupted by rain. Today I went out shopping. At Volunteers of America I got new with tags/ or in package: black Capri pants, swim skirt, swim shorts, child's sippy cup, silicone cupcake pan, iPad case. Also got a curtain rod- still messing around with the bow window. Krogers I only bought stuff that was on clearance, or special & I had a coupon. Ground pork for 74 cents a pound, American cheese $1.24, Oscar Mayer hot dogs 74 cents, ice cream $1.50, good buy on TP. Hit discount drug mart for ERA detergent for $1.99, and Tresseme shampoo $2.00 for 32 oz. Also went to Aldi for salad fixings, milk & eggs.
I had fun getting bargains. I want to make Italian sausage with the ground pork, but I just searched my cupboard & have everything but fennel. I really think I have it, but where? Expected to have hot dogs over a camp fire, but it poured down rain, so made fish, oven fries & green beans. Cleaned up kitchen, unloaded, loaded DW. Just watched the Preakness. Not sure what is going on the rest of the day.
CH, dlrcpa, GB, you ladies have been busy. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Everyone else must be too busy working to post. Will FW ever be back? ILC hasn't been around much either.

Was up until midnight at a party last night, and then could not sleep at home. Not sure how long I will last today.
Went to the garden center as planned yesterday morning but DH forgot the trellis panel so we have to go back today. Have some flowers to plant today, maybe tomatoes and cucumbers too. Spring is back, not supposed to get over 70 all week.
Put shoes (plural) on yesterday and drove myself down to Aldi. Will take a while to get used to how the clutch and gas feels now, but not long. Going to limit it to surface streets (40mph) this week.
Thinking of going back to the gym this week. Getting down on the floor for yoga is a real challenge, but I can start using the weight machines to build up strength.
DH wants to make up a bunch of low carb egg muffins for breakfast this week. That will take some coordination.

Ch- way to go on driving! Was today the first time? Do you feel like you just got released from prison? Also cool that you drive manual. I still drive a stick & it surprises so many people. (Especially young guys at service shops.)
Today I went to church, came home read the paper, fixed DH lunch, then went back to church for a ladies day out, which was fun.
Went to Meijers, got 11# of $1.87 ground beef, and fennel. Came home, made 22 hamburger patties & browned 5 plus pounds, bagged up for freezer. Then I made my Italian sausage. Went a little heavy on the garlic, but all in all quite good. It is so lean that I needed to spray the pan to make a little sample patty. Wish I would have gotten more of the ground pork yesterday. I know I will make more when I am done with this. Got dishes done, packed car with stuff I am taking to DD tomorrow. Will get nothing done tomorrow except what I can do on break or lunch. Leaving the minute I get off work. DD wants to attack her garage. They moved in this house in the fall & deposited a bunch of stuff in there & now with two little kids, she hasn't been able to sort it out. I probably will just play with the kids while she does all the work.
Watching the basketball play offs. Our team has been doing super until about 2 minutes ago & now DH is yelling at the TV like they can hear him all the way in Cleveland!
Have a great evening!

Well, four months ago today I had my foot surgery. It was a long and often difficult road, but today I declare myself healed. The last of the surgical wounds closed over the weekend. I can wear a normal shoe and walk without falling over. Stairs are still a challenge, but getting easier. Next week I see the doctor for what is hopefully the final time, until I go back this fall to do the other foot.
Yes, Winkie, I feel like a bird that has just been let out of a cage. I miss being able to just go OUT and do my thing. I embarrassed a guy at an oil change place once, he came out to get the old lady's car and couldn't drive it. His buddies gave him such a hard time. I learned to drive manual in high school, figured it was something I needed to know, and just somehow ended up getting cars with stick shifts since. How's this for cool, one of my friends is 70 and drives a Mustang!
We went out to the big home store yesterday and got two trellis panels and then realized they won't fit in the car. DH got mad and we had to return them. Not much else happened after that because he was tired. DH has been skipping the gym and doesn't like being reminded.
Spent 15 minutes weeding the garden. Saw that DH had been helpful the day before by weeding dandelions out of the raised bed. Explained to him the difference between dandelion leaves and spinach. Not a great loss, there was barely enough to make one salad.
Have a long list of things to do this week. It's time for one of the cats to get her annual checkup, the other one has been sneezing and needs to be seen, too, plus we ordered food in bulk from the vet. Will get a workout there.
Have to get groceries at some point. Have 2 days of fresh vegetables and then Wed we are going to be out, and then I could use frozen veg for a night or two if I have to. Need to figure out what is for dinner. I know what we have in the house, just need to plan it out.
One of the cars is due for license renewal, I have to get it inspected by the end of the month. It's a manual, too.
I want my dining table back, so I'm going to start moving hobby stuff downstairs. Stairs are still a pain, but the hobby clutter is attracting other crap and making it hard to keep the kitchen clean. Sometime in the next week or two we are expecting a large order of craft stuff and I don't want any excuse to keep it from going straight to the basement.
-- menu plan
-- kitchen table
-- grocery run?
Hope those of you who have been quiet are doing well.

I was at my parents all day Sunday. Today after work I got a haircut (it was too long, I told her cut off 3" and it looks much better now.) Used a coupon saved $4. Mailed sis's birthday package after finally getting the weight below 13 oz. I had to take the card out. Otherwise priority mail is several $$ more. So mail card separately for a stamp. (Too much time spent on that, but saved $2-3.) Pulled clothing to donate, trashed 2 blouses, cut up 1 top for quilting fabric. Fixed elastic-waist skirt that I made too full, took 9" of width out and resewed the seam. Need to press and re-hem a few inches. I have other ironing to do in the next few days. I need to limit sewing machine time because it's awkward on my back. Did some surveys. Dishwasher just finished so maybe it can be unloaded before bed time. Tired!

We went to the local animal shelter on Sunday and found us the cutest four years old female cat. We'll get her next week.
On our way home we went to a pet store with -20% on everything. The cat food the shelter recommends was on sale and with the extra discount it was less than half of the retail price. I bought some cat supplies on eBay from China and will get some things from IKEA instead of the pet store.
I spend a lot of time watching cat behavior videos on YouTube yesterday.

Been so busy that my head is spinning. Not only am I getting ready to open a show on Friday, but spent the weekend at a soccer tournament, Jason Witten football camp, and movies with the Gsons. Just trying to make it through the week.
