Tomorrow is the big day. I am thoroughly convinced the surgery will be postponed until march or April, but we are going in early tomorrow anyway. I have a fridge full of healthy healing veggies that we will eat anyway, I made a menu plan this morning.
Trying to keep busy today. I did alright yesterday until about 3pm when the anxiety hit and I spent the rest of the day just trying not to throw up.
Sorry to hear everyone else is under the weather. Hope folks are feeling better soon.
01-22-2017, 02:16 PM
Sorry for all who are sick. My back is bothering me but it is always muscular and I know what needs to be done to deal with it. Took hubby to the airport this morning. House is quiet. I will do small household chores and tidying over time. Not pushing too hard. No cooking and therefore no dishes to wash at least!
01-22-2017, 03:43 PM
CH-best of luck. I hope they just get on w/ it and stop driving you nuts but they should have called from the hosp. by now and filled out paperwork w/ you??
D-cpa-a little quiet os good. I still have another week and have mixed feelings. Getting more done?
01-22-2017, 06:28 PM
CH - best of luck for your surgery & wishes for swift recovery.
01-22-2017, 07:03 PM
Winkie, so sorry you've been so sick!
I bet you're happy about the house coming together.
Gbug and dlrcpa, hope your backache gets better quickly. Mine was hurting yesterday but today it's better. I think I just slept funny the night before.
CH, good luck with the surgery. How frustrating it's all been for you.
erma, sounds like you're keeping up with getting things done.
fw, way to go on getting some of the junk thrown out.
pinetree?????? You okay?
No damage here from rain and storms yesterday and today. The tornadoes hit way south of here today but so far no injuries. Last night 11 people died in our state because of tornadoes. Prayers, please.
This morning we went to church and breakfast and Walmart and then DH took his nap while I caught up on paperwork and watched the Falcons beat the Packers. We also had signed up to switch from cable to Direct TV but when the installer came, he couldn't get a clear angle to put the dish except in the front yard so we cancelled.
1) Finish Bible study homework; class 6:30
2) Put away clean laundry
4) Clean bathrooms
5) Maybe take DD and her fiance to lunch for his birthday
6) Reschedule dental appointment
01-23-2017, 06:38 AM

Gb-used to be for me too then health wise I just had no choice Whether its feet crramping, diabetic neuropathy, dizzyness from this meds, breathing issue I have to.So what i do is do a short job, sit,do a little more,go on the computer. All day all the time. Mostly I've come to accept something is better than nothing. I do have energy burst days and ususally pay teh next 2. But again acceptance.
Sorted more of the cleaning chemicals, giving several bottles of Tide free and Purex to Dd for the house she's living at. HE washers are a PITA and cant handle non HE detergents. So that and the Christmas stuff is sorted and donated. I have a stack of games and a few other things that need to be donated. I need to sort my housewares shelves. DH has a few mystery tubs I'm shoving back in his office-he'll be so happy. HIS stuff in HIS office is an ongoing theme. I imagine its books that need to go.
DD is here tossing things in her room. 1 bag has left. She is staying a few days to work. This is it though. I go in next. I need it empty by spring to redo it.

01-24-2017, 12:45 AM
So DH handled the sewer snake out to the street $275. but the guy didnt do the snake from the middle drain the the line outside. DD did 1 wash and the whole bsmt in wet after i just got it dry. Its coming up thru the floor and such because it has no where to go. More $$. Because they GUARANTEE only the part they did but we are definately discussing the service charge fee. DH hung up on me because I woke him up. IK hes under stress but does he want his laptop in the water? Cuz it can happen. I thought laast year was a battle, huh! thanks for the vent.
CH waiting to hear a peep from ya. YOu been on my mind.
DD got 2 bags out and has 4 more to go out. The issue is so much more to do. Shes supposed to stay until Fri. so maybe it'll be better??
Wish i could drink some days?? nah.
01-24-2017, 09:58 AM
Good morning. It is suppose to be near 80 here today and back in the 50s tomorrow. Had to cancel working at the clothing room since Im still coughing. I do have to go to a meeting at the theatre this afternoon to go over budget and plans for my next show.
01-24-2017, 01:51 PM
I'm Dawn's husband. She asked me to post a message here letting her friends know her surgery went well. She's in bed getting grapes peeled for her, eating bon bons, and watching cooking shows.
01-24-2017, 02:20 PM
We're glad to know everything went as planned. She spent a lot of time and thought preparing. Best wishes for speedy recovery.
01-24-2017, 03:53 PM
Thanks for the update on CH. Glad to know it went well.
Let the healing begin.
01-24-2017, 07:15 PM
Glad to hear the update on CH
What a dang long day. The sewer line to the street was clogged and i learned a lot about things. I opted for the hydo blow out and the camera $975. I called Dh and said we are doing it. We opted out last time and paid the stress this time. So in for $1250. and they found i have 75' of cast iron original pipe they used to connect to the sewer. 25' of that is cracked. To replace the 25' that is 10'down is $5200. and to replace the 75' is $12,000. So I called up Dh and told him to get used to the ideas. I cant keep sucking up water into old age and I just plain wont. What they did is guaranteed for a year and thats 1 visit to hydro it again. It took over an hr. to get the truck there and then 1 1/2 more screwing around. Dogs barked,I had to stand watching the door and still havent seen 3 cats. DH started in w/ his unrelated facts gathering and disbelief of the facts given. I'm like you werent here,I havent slept or eaten for stress/worry. Plus all that suctioning and bailing. I told hubby be warned i am not too charming right now. I treated DD and I to a French dip and seasoned fries. Now I need sleep so i can resanitize everything. Hopefully,we can flush and shower and wash clothes.
01-25-2017, 08:54 AM

01-25-2017, 09:49 AM
Glad CH is doing well. It is suppose to get cold again here. What fun! Now I'm not only coughing, but my I can't breathe through my nose. DH tilled the garden spot again yesterday. It is looking good. I got good news from my neurologist that I don't have to be on blood thinners anymore. I hate taking medicine. Today is busy: Doing laundry, making dinner for my BIL and Sil to take them since my BIL came home from the hospital. Need to hit CVS, Sprouts, and Kroger, but don't know if that will happen today. Also have to go to the post office to mail some packages. Making some sugar scrub for a friend for her birthday tomorrow. If I have a chance, maybe a nap.
01-25-2017, 11:59 AM
GB-congrats. I finally reached the 4 pills a day level he wanted on the 2nd BP. Hopefully,it will show in the BP numbers next time. You sound busy as always. DD is swearing by the pineapple juice for the decongestant (bromelaid??) I am literally sniffing a Dollar general decongestant every so often because ID think I need any more meds in me.
The water is still seeping in the front but the drain seems better and she washed a coat last night. I need to shower so that will be another test. And w/ all this I'm behind 3 loads of dishes again!
continue to sort and wrap glassware cabinet. Making anothe S.A. load by Fri. (it is def. helping me to set a day)
mop just about everywhere the guys machine went.
hit the groc. for milk and meds.
Hugs to everyone.
BBL so tired
01-25-2017, 01:35 PM
Wonderful news about CH!
Gbug, congratulations on the no meds. Hope your coughing stops and you begin to feel better.
fw, sorry about all the pipe mess and you having to handle it all on your own.
So DD is actually doing some cleaning/throwing out? Fantastic!
erma, hope your back is feeling better.
Everybody else, hi, hope things are well with you.
Had a great checkup with my periodontist (gum doctor). No new issues, no new "mobility issues" (loose teeth), everything okay.
Eventually some teeth will be lost, she feels, but not yet.
DH and I went to Chick-Fil-A this a.m. for their free breakfast promotion. He got a sausage/cheese/egg biscuit and I got a chicken/egg/cheese biscuit. Gotta love free food.
For the rest of Wednesday:
1) Work on Bible study homework
2) Figure out supper
3) Bake peanut butter cookies
4) Church 6:30
01-25-2017, 04:00 PM
ILC-too great. ID even want to go in.
So all but Pixie cat are accounted for w/ the door being propped open yesterday. She is extra shy/skittish so if I dont see her by late today I will be a little worried.
So far the drain seems to be ok. Cross plumber off my list for sure!
And yes DD is working and I can visually see it.All 6 cans are full and we have extra. She went into a huge anxiety attack last night over about everything. I just quietly stood my ground and today it seems better. I wanted to fix everything but thats how we got here. You can only gain confidence thru successes-usually small over big. I told her we will continue to provide food where she lives. I gave her $80 last time to help pay her cell and hygiene incidentals. She has no money for the registration so I just said let it ride. Her ins. will most likely be covered by us too. Just not offering just yet. I want to buy her jeans because she only has 1 pair but every time we go in it gets carried away. I feel bad they just took feminine services away from her ins. And i feel bad she got sent a dental card by mistake. She needs a job but it will be very hard to get one w/ no car. And no one to drive her.
01-25-2017, 04:12 PM
Never went to walmart today before i got coffee drunk i was hurting again so i haven't done anything except empty dw and put some dishes in not even fixed my bed.
01-26-2017, 05:07 AM
I have an exam in three hours and I'm working on the last preparations.
Trip to IKEA
01-26-2017, 09:10 AM
Tine--Good luck on exam.
Feeling a bit better today. Today I am going to work in the afternoon at the food pantry. I hope to get some sewing done and making DH loaded bake potato soup for dinner. I tallied up my grocery expenses last night for January and I have spent just a little over $150. We did eat a few meals out this month using gift cards. Money is so tight. I don't see much relief in sight until late spring or early summer.
01-26-2017, 09:10 AM
Ermadunk-Walmart is onliine w/ free shipping over $50? I refuse to go unless well it's Christmas?
So Hunty knocked the computer plug out trying to get in this room. Good thing he's so cute. I finally got the computer back up this morning. If the sewer and dumb things would just stop breaking i would buy something new.
We got a dusting of snow. DD is supposed to work outside this Sunday at the Renaissance Fest. teardown in costume-brr!
dishes and more dishes.
P.U. prescriptions and a few groc.
spot clean and vaccumn
01-26-2017, 12:46 PM
I am getting around little better today doing some laundry.Haven't seen pinetree on here lately hope she is well sunshine here and turned colder.Everyone have a good day
01-27-2017, 09:12 AM
Good morning. 26 here today and in the 70s in a few days. Crazy winter here. Going to the soup kitchen today. I desperately need to get out. My depression is kicking in again. I don't want to be on any meds, so I go help others to get my mind off of it. Don't know what the rest of the day will bring.
01-27-2017, 09:46 AM
GB-me too on the depression. Between Dh traveling, the sewer and the general weather of drabness. I am going to take DD and buy her another pair of jeans today and put together the rest of the care pkg. for the family.
So today was paycheck day. DH made a lot of overtime which entirely paid the sewer flush bill-yeah!! I also found I had $35.15 in the CC points. And was able to put (at least for the time being) $1500. more towards the new vehicle project. Which is good because its rusting out from under me.
hit the groc and get pills/a few groc.
DD leaves around 4 pm.
01-27-2017, 12:09 PM
I am going to try & get some stuff done today. I have not been well for weeks & have such low energy. Still have the cough. It is snowing here today, but not much accumulation.
I had the construction crew save the scraps of vinyl flooring & I will line the bottom of the cupboards with it. Then I can start putting stuff away.
I need to paint two different patched places on the walls.
Need to paint the closet in the bed room while it is still empty.
Paint in bathroom closet where they ran out of baseboard.
Need to return towels & floor mats that do not match new room.
Hope everyone is feeling better.
01-27-2017, 01:45 PM
winkie-feel better. I ususally get that all winter too. W/ DD gone most of the time and not going out as often its less.
DD is going in 2 hrs. and mixed feelings. Part of me says stay but ID want to ruin our new better getting along. I am diappointed we wont have time to go to S.A. or burgers. But I am thrillled she made good progress on the mess.
01-27-2017, 07:15 PM
I hope everyone is feeling better too. My back is improving. I take for granted being able to physically do everything I want to, hate having to decide A versus B because I only have enough stamina for one thing. Usually I run out of time, not energy. Hubby returned home last night, lack of sleep due to his midnight arrival and later snoring.
This weekend: bring in fire wood, work on club newsletter, bake bread, laundry, start taxes.
01-27-2017, 07:39 PM
I went got a hair cut today was going do some cleaning after i got back and before i got started a friend i haven't seen in awhile came by we had a good visit and nothing got done today but that ok.
01-27-2017, 09:13 PM
Winkie, glad you're back! Send pics of the home improvements if you can.
dlrcpa, glad your back is better.
Tine, hope you did well on your test.
erma, do you like your haircut?
Gbug, winter is hard for those of us with depression issues, even with meds. We're having a cold spell and I just want to huddle next to the fireplace. Way to go on your grocery spending.
fw, good that the paycheck covered those expenses.
DD showed up this a.m. and we had a nice visit. Today is my best friend's birthday and she had requested that I make her a chocolate pie so that's what I did for her. I also made one for us and we're enjoying it immensely. Did some cleaning so things look better. Belle, our tortie kitty, didn't show up last night and by the time it got dark tonight I was really getting upset but she appeared on the porch about 8:00, very hungry and cold. She's eaten and is now sitting on the hearth enjoying the fireplace.
1) Possibly visit a friend who's supposed to be in town at her mom's this weekend
2) Catch up on Bible study homework
4) Plan menus for next week
5) Change sheets
01-27-2017, 10:49 PM
Ilovechocklate yes i like my hair cut i can't stand for my hair to get very long.chocklate pie sound good i us't make a lot of them when my kids was at home.

01-28-2017, 10:03 AM
FW2--Glad to hear the news about you and DD.
It is cold here. I need to clean my house, but that's not happening. I am getting laundry done.
01-28-2017, 11:23 AM
GB-we are cutting a new path. I liked having her visit and we are more honest w/ each other now. I told her I did freak out when she said she was staying all week and she said she was surprised she made it thru Wed.. We just laughed. I'm holding tight to the fact that at a certain point the "kids" decisions good are bad are theirs.
D-cpa-glad the backs on the mend. I had it do that to me a few times. DH had left for work and it went out. I'm thinking gotta get up eventually and its GONNA hurt!
well DD left me her sick. I have a headache, the shakes in the "belly",weak and had to get up several times last night. My body just generally aches so I think flu and resting day. IF I feel better I will vaccumn and that. If not, not. Knocked the louvered door off the track of the pantry last night and I blocked it w/ a storage tub. DH can fix it tomorrow because I am crawling back to bed soon. Whine.
01-28-2017, 04:10 PM
frugalwarrior2 hope you are felling better real soon and everone else is having a good day.I slept in today unloaded dw put more dishes in washed sheets made bed swept floors never made it to grocery store going have to go in few days almost out of milk. Everyone have a good night.
01-28-2017, 08:48 PM
Did a light groc shop and picked up my meds.DH came home early so I just nuked us some potpies. I bought a little choc. cake to celebrate Ddads bday. He would have been 89 today. We got anotehr light snow and the temp dropped a lot but its ok for the season.
The boys (mackie,Mikey and Hunty) were so delighted they ran all over the house. Mike was out w/ in 10 min. of dinner. Greeting is hard work. Macley was so sad when DD left because I think he thought she moved back. Now he is so happy DH is back. All of them were glued to me after I went groc. shopping. I guess they dont know if they will ever see you again??
DH announced he goes again this week Sun-Fri again. So much for working out of the house.
01-28-2017, 08:51 PM
ILC - good news on the perio- I had to have a ton of work done a few years ago & it was expensive & time consuming. Nice of you to make your friend pie.
GB - I like your style- when you feel down, you do for others. That is a great strategy. Hope you are feeling better.
ED - nice you had a visit with your friend
FW- sorry you are having all the water issues, but nice you had a good visit w/ DD. Glad she is making progress. Sorry she brought you the flu.
I got my list done, but it took two days. Like dircpa said,I am used to being able to do everything I want with out running out of steam. This slow motion is for the birds. So I got everything painted that I needed. I cut the vinyl to fit the bottom cupboards. I had to keep resting... I also went on a three hour shopping trip yesterday that ended up very successful. I went to Ollie's ( had 10% coupon), got my darker towels, found living room drapes that I have been looking for for two years. I think these are keepers. I also hit Aldi's & got a cart full of food for $38.00. Popped in to Volunteers of America & found a couple do-dads for the new bathroom. Ran into dollar general for contact paper & found a cute little basket for $1.00 for the new bathroom. I hung the new drapes on all the windows but the bow window which needs news a new rod. I tore apart the drawing part out of the rods , the new drapes are the grommet type. I will be taking them all down & spray painting them grey/ silver. They are a bronze/ gold color now. I saw a little scratch on the hutch, maybe the guys did it when they moved it? So I got out the old English then that turned into a little side project of cleaning up two stands/ tables. Cooked supper each night & kept dishes done. Today I washed sheets & towels- confessions- DH washes sheets & towels 40 weeks out of the year. Has since we got married 18 years ago. The twelve weeks of tax season he works Saturday's, so I do them.
So I got quite a bit of the non normal chores done, but need to get back on the regular chores of vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, etc.
Tomorrow we will put the bed back up in the spare room & will wash up the bedding. Can't put anything in the closet, because the construction crew needs to get into the attic one more time. We are still waiting on a special order baseboard heater. They will take care of the roof vent when the heater comes in.
Hope everyone gets to feeling better!!!
Making a roast chicken & stuffing for dinner tomorrow. Yum...
01-28-2017, 10:02 PM
winkie-um wow,I want whatever breakfast cereal your having. I got my burgandy drapes w/ grommets from Ollies and have been super happy. They look nicer than they cost and block the light and cold well. If you would add a bit of vinegar to the wash the dk. towels color will set better. I used to work in a linen store and customers were always complaining the the red or burgundy towels kept losing color after 2 washes.
Dh asked me earlier how his travel works best for me and i answered him only to find he will most likely be going every other week now. He is annoyed I said we would prob. end up spending more on outside people to repair things then. IDK what he was thinking but he cant so it if he's not here? And no I have no abilities that way try as I might. Un believably this year seems more annoying then last???
