about 15 old, chunky, and/or ugly dried up nail polishes
a bunch of hair glitters, body lotions, etc. that were dried up or smelled bad
another bag of clothes from the basement
Whew! Still got a long way to go, but I'm taking baby steps!

Also tossed a wicker bench from the porch. My intention was to have it look cute with pillows and all, but it became a dumping ground for DH junk and it wasn't very comfy to sit on. I got it at a yard sale, and so I put it on the curb.
A very polite trashpicker rang my doorbell to see if he could have it. I have the most polite trashpickers here. That is not the first time that has happened, lol.

One old phone book
Lots of old *used scratch paper, don't know why i hung on to those!
One old bikini from the 80's that doesn't fit me anyways
Two Belts, one is ugly color, and one is way too big that came with a pair of shorts
Half of a plastic easter egg

Yesterday (7-9) we tossed (sold) an old lawn mower to DH friend. It was my dad's, but since my parents moved to a retirement community 4 years ago, they don't need it anymore. We've been keeping it here, never using it. We sold it for $25.00, but I'm going to give the money to my dad.
Today I'll be tossing stuff from the basement to the porch to prepare for my yardsale. I think my sewing machine is buried under all of that junk! lol I'll be able to walk through my basement! :dancing:

I'm doing great. I've been on a huge decluttering kick. I'm through in the living room - set out a box of things for donating, and threw a huge stack of magazines. I've done two drawers in the bedroom - threw out a small bag full of stuff. I've gone through my baking cupboards in the kitchen and threw a whole box of outdated things! Last night and today I'll be working on my box of books/notes from college. I've already listed several for sale on Amazon, and the rest will go to Goodwill!

Me again! Are all of you done tossing????
Today i tossed:
2 pairs of shoes
handle to a mop I haven't used in 10 years or more
some buttons that were all over the floor
My yard sale pile is HUGE! My porch is filled and I haven't brought up the drum set or the changing table yet!
The van is still here....

Today after my much-awaited, very successful yard sale, I donated the rest of my stuff, further decluttering my house!
Donated 4 boxes and 2 bags to Goodwill
Donated 4 boxes of books to the library (thanks CJ for this idea!!) They are having their annual used book sale next week and were tickled to get my donations! The proceeds benefit the library!
The only thing I had to bring home was my infant car seat. Goodwill wouldn't take that. I wish I knew someone that could use it.....
Anyway! Happy dances for me today! :mdance:
We also sold our minivan, DD's drumset, lots of baby equipment, and more! We are so thrilled! Now I can walk in my basement!

*old travel alarm clock
*torn sweaters (5, thought i could fix, but can't)

*old cardbard box (gave the dogs a new one)

over the weekend i've tossed a lot! :)
*scooter bike toddler type of car thing
*bag full of junk from ayla's toy box~went to trash
*bag full omy f clothes to either donate or let a friend look through
*that darn 20 lb bag of flour! I just will never use it and it took up so much space...not frugal but space in our place really is worth a lot too...
Reading some of these gives me ideas, I also need to toss lids that don't go and containers that have no lids...I should also toss a few food items we just never use.

I just filled 2 small bags of clothes and 2 boxes of old toys and things to give to the church. I am so proud of myself.:D But Pierre better quickly take it there this evening, or else I can start changing my mind about the stuff I am giving...lol I always do that!

Am I too late?
Big :hugz: for Ellise. and another :hugz:
Today I FINALLY started!
I threw out FIVE bin liners!!! Full of clothes that I dyed horrible colours in the washing machine, or haven't fitted the kids for ages!
Odd socks that I've NEVER found a partner for
Bits of paper????
A baby's cup that DD painted with nail varnish!
All the nail varnishes!! We had LOADS ~ I used to be a nail artist and I never wear varnish anymore, some was sticky, and DD has started painting EVERYTHING with it!!!!!
A bush we cut down weeks ago!
A broken baby's car seat.
A broken lawn trimmer thing. (I seem to like broken things???)
And lots of 'just junk!'
Oh and a BIG pile of magazines.
The sad part is LOTS of things I could have done without buying in the first place! So I could have saved myself carrying them all home and moving them around and stressing over them and just thrown the MONEY straight in the bin!!!!
07-23-2003, 08:31 PM
I also threw out 3 shoe boxes yesterday!
Today I took an old robe of DH from the closet. It hasn't fit him for ages, but would be a great robe for me to keep in the camper, so in the camper it went!
I have tossed 2 bags of trash from the camper so far :yippee:
Tossed some trash from the minivan leftover from our trip to Gettysburg.

Bev, good for you. I know what your saying about wasting the $$ to purchase the stuff, but once we get this decluttering in our blood, we soon begin to thing about what comes in the house and what we spend our $$ on. It takes time, but I promise you that will happen.
Danielle, I took the K'Nex and gave them to our grandson!!!
I forgot, while dd was here, I gave her a new housecoat to take home with her, one I had never worn.
Everyone is doing a great job - keep it up!!
