I decided to get rid of my wreath craft stuff and my daughter wants it so will drop off at her house. I will never get around to using it. One more thing out of my house. Lots to go but I got to start somewhere.....hoping to clean pantry today. I usually do it at the end of the year but I figure the holidays are coming up so this might be a good time to do it....

Today I'm going to start shredding papers. While we were cleaning house for an appraisal, I found bags of papers. Time to shred. I found a few items that will be donated. Now that the house is cleaner and we can see more of the junk laying around, we are motivated to get rid of a lot of it. If the boys don't want it, we'll try to sell it first and then we'll donate the rest. The boys will thank us years down the road. We can either clean up and get rid of stuff now or the boys can do it when we are gone. I really don't want to leave that burden on them.

yes seems never ending w family lol I get rid of stuff and it comes back. still have to get stuff to value village maybe this weekend. since my car died in the parking lot the day I was supposed to go. the educational stuff is wanted and will see if friend wants ds outgrown clothes for his charity sending stuff overseas.

plus still more boxes to go up north. one place is asking for scrapbook stuff and I went nuts at a store closing years ago. of course didn't use it so will go though that craft stuff and donate. need to get the prepaid boxes because cheaper to ship that way.

It's funny how stuff just creeps into our homes. Dh said this week that nothing else comes into this house. I need quilt batting for a quilt and I'm not going to buy it until the quilt top is finished, unless I find a really good price on it. I'm afraid I won't get the top done and then there sits the batting and an unfinished top. No, I do plan to get the quilt done for Christmas and hope to do a second one, thus getting rid of more fabric.

I know, right? I swear we don't buy nearly as much crap as what goes into our trash and recycling bins. I confess to having a couple quilt batts laying around, but I have a top ready to go to the longarm, and one I am assembling now, so they will be gone "soon".
Stop trying to organize all of your family’s crap. If organization worked for you, you’d have rocked it by now. It’s time to ditch stuff and de-crapify your world.

If you're not using the stuff in your home, get rid of it. You're not going to start using it more by shoving it into a closet.

Use it up, Wear it out,
Make it do, Or do without. ~unknown

A clean house is a sign of a wasted life. ~unknown

My husband found six totes of fall décor in the garage.....I condensed and got it down to three keep and giving one huge tote away. I love fall....I know three totes is too many but I use everything when I decorate for luncheons and dinners for organizations I volunteer at. The one tote I am giving away is to a young Mom who bought a home last year and she is having Thanksgiving dinner this year and I offered to stage her home. I will just give her everything I use. My husband is thrilled with this decision....

lol I have all my seasonal decor and they bitch and I say fine I will not do anything for any bdays or holidays then. like no it isn't that much just don't like helping clean up. halloween and xmas is the big one. and since I do everything for holidays and parties..are you really going to complain about a bag of birthday decor and plates. or I say fine who is giving up their room..I don't have my own room and extra room so .... they get quiet fast. dh doesn't say anything anymore because he has a overflowing garage and office and would fill the rest of the house if he could. but now that mil is gone we will have lots more free time so we can work on our life.

Solution: buy the quilt batting but leave it in the car until next week.

My husband hates holidays....he's very unsocialable so he would be happy if we just stayed home and did nothing........he has lots of stuff but it is very organized.....when we got married 23 years ago you could eat off the garage floor and park two cars in the garage....LOL....those days are long gone.....LOL

Peg, that's so nice of you to stage your friend's home and then gift her the items. I'm sure her home will look beautiful because of your thoughtfulness.

    We're antisocial too.

SD thank you.....I find I am getting older and I really don't entertain like I use to....I don't need all that stuff....was suppose to do her house today but she cancelled so will have to do it next week. My daughter is coming one day and will take one or two totes...she is cooking Thanksgiving after all....I usually do it but my house is too small so we are going to the casino instead and may stop at daughters for dessert.....
My husband is very quiet and I am just the opposite....he is always teasing me when we go to buffet places to eat....seems I always end up talking to everyone in the line....LOL

I am looking at 2 boxes of hubby's technical computer books from 20 years ago. Pretty sure totally irrelevant now. If I ask him he will object. So I quietly make things disappear. Today he noticed the bird feeder empty (I filled it several weeks ago) and asked me if we had bird seed. Yes, a big sack in the garage. He has no idea what is here.... I was the one who had to point out the dead mouse in the utility/furnace room. Yuck. Stuff needs to leave.

yes sometimes that is the best..dh wouldn't get rid of old computer books but a water leak in garage took care of it. he gets to work on his areas now that we have some free weekends.

Amazingly while I was out for 3 hours today, hubby decided the clean out the workshop area where the cat boxes are, he said it smelled bad. Moved a lot of the storage units out and filled 2 trash cans with junk, mopped floors and moved storage units back in. Amazing - 2 trash cans of junk will leave tomorrow. A nice big surprise.
