I start at the top and work down.

Ceiling corners and fan and lights and top of door frames
    Curtains and windows
    pictures and wall fixtures
    baseboards and crevices

After the dust settles i go back and wipe off the other surfaces and then finish with vacuum and mirrors.

I used to clean by a check list but figure that if I just work from top down I usually get everything that needs to be gotten.

I also do op to bottom. I also do one room at a time till it's done.
It works pretty well for me.

Default Spring Cleaning, Room By Room

At Clean Home Journal they have a plan for getting spring cleaning done. There are downloadable lists there, by room. Hope this is helpful to someone. I am so excited that spring is on the way!!

I didn't use a list but I'm almost finished with my room-to-room deep clean.

I'm sure the list is helpful. I'm just afraid to look and see what I might've missed since I'm just about done! I just pretty well started at the ceiling and worked my way down, dusting and cleaning the whole way.

I think the check lists are great. I need to start mine next weekend and I hope to be finished by the end of April. I only have one day a week to really devote to big cleaning jobs. I hope to get started soon though, so that I can be finished before May, when I will want to be outside enjoying the great weather.

I was such in a mood to spring clean yesterday. It was a sunny day and I was full of energy. I took apart the fridge and cleaned it, a few kitchen cabinets, china cabinet, bathroom closet, and did deep cleaning around the house. I sure was tired by the end of the night. I love that feeling when you feel like you acomplished something.

More to do... Next is the closets.

I got this check list in an e-mail. Very helpful and I like the room by room format. I'm just using my own homemade cleaner instead of the brand name ones they suggest.

I've found vinegar and hot water to be one of the best multi-purpose cleaners.
