    Default Spring Fling Mission 1-Kitchens

I pride myself in a neat and orderly kitchen. That is until my entire routine was tossed out the window.

My kitchen is currently upside down. It's not dirty, but it's disorganized. I have STUFF just shoved in cabinets. I have recipes I've printed off the internet shoved next to my microwave. My counter has a stack of papers I need to go through. The list goes on and on.

Mission 1 is to spring clean your kitchen.

This means the WHOLE kitchen. I'm talking top shelves, cabinets, stove, oven, small appliances, pantry, fridge, counters, floors, windows, drawers, etc.

I've got my work cut out for me.

Luckily, it's close to my monthly grocery shopping trip, so my pantry isn't stuffed full like it normally is. Makes things a bit easier.

After I complete a kitchen task, I'll post about it throughout the day.

Just saying the word "fling" makes me happy.

Sounds easy enough.....I've been wanting to clean the kitchen for a while now....its about the only thing that didn't get as organized as I would have liked while I was "nesting" so to speak. I'll try to start on it tomorrow, but I may have to wait until Tuesday while Joe is at work so I can really have at it (I tend to clean better when I am alone).

I may have to wait on some things until Tuesday too. Zachary doesn't have school tomorrow.

I'll be printing off Woman's Day printables.
I'm sure I'll have more than these lists, but it's a good outline.

I'm shooting for up to a week on major missions. I'll toss in some mini missions in between the larger missions.

I will be working on it in the evenings after work. It will be nice for the whole house to be clean for the new owners!

I'm in! I'll be doing a little bit each night this week, but I'll be doing it! My kitchen is actually in pretty good shape, but there are some spots in it that need major work.

    Thanks, Sara!

The kitchen is a good place to start with me. It's not really dirty but I need to ant proof it, they come in for a brief time in the spring and don't stay around if there aren't places for them to hang. That means cleaning and bagging some things like the sugar bowl, canisters, pudding mixes all that kind of stuff. I like to use a vinegar water solution, seems to work well. Doing that & keeping counters & appliances free of crumbs & such keep those pesky ants at bay.

    I'll be back when I've made a dent, toodles~

Ok, I have been working hard for almost 3 hours. I am taking a break.

I did the broom closet - organized all the cleaning supplies, fridge, on top the fridge (YUK), all the upper cabinets, rearranged groceries (we have alot)!, rearranged appliances, tossed stuff out like you wouldn't believe, tossed expireds, I have a box of stuff to take out that we don't use, did the medicine cabinet, washed the upper cabinets and the range hood, cleaned under the sink good (yuk)
    .
I have left to do: the lower cabinets, the range top, I just did the stove last week and my drawers not long ago from a decluttering spree so they are done, but that leaves the floor and washing the rugs. I am gonna use a green scrubby and bleach on the floor- It really needs it.

I am gonna take a break, I worked through the children's lunch time and feed them and myself and then go and finish up. Thank goodness we have a little kitchen! (first time I have ever said that)

Ok, I'm in on this one BUT I won't be washing down the cabinets since we are just going to be ripping them out as part of our remodel. I'm actually afraid to touch them too much or they might fall apart even more!

I do plan to go through all the cabinets and drawers though and organize and toss/donate anything we no longer need. I did this at the end of last year, but I'm going to take an even harder look this go round.
