The Aaack! My House! Challenge
Well, I've been working 7-5:30 the past two weeks, and then coming home to take care of 3 kids and a dh. Needless to say, my home has suffered a bit.
So...it is time for a major clean-up!
My challenge to myself this week is to toss a grocery bag of garbage every single day this week. EVERY DAY. I'm hoping this will alleviate the initial problem of the stuff that's piled up, and then by weeks end, it will force me to do some de-cluttering in order to fill up the bags.
I'd love to have some of you join me in this challenge! It's always more fun when you are working with someone! Sign in here and keep us up to date!
We can do it!Blog: http://amysreallife.com

You've got a great idea there. Good luck on your journey. I can relate. I often work overtime during the week and quite a few weekends. This past week, I have put myself on a schedule. A room an evening when I get home from work. I'm really tired of having to spend my home time during the weekends cleaning. I used to do this years ago and got out of the habit of doing it. It will be nice to have my weekends to do fun things or no things at all!!!

I think I really need to join you on this challenge, Amy. Since returning to work, my house is beginning to suffer too.

I'm in on this because I've already been doing it!
Since I went back to work three weeks ago, my house is a disaster! I can't take all this stuff, so I started going through everything. Now, I have 3 rubbermaid totes stacked up in the living room full of stuff for a yard sale. There is one that is still being filled up.
Also, I came across some arts and crafts junk that was stored in a closet. I got all of it out (it's all now on my kitchen table and messing up my dining room) and I've spent some of what little free time I have making stuff.
Most of the stuff I've made for my daughter. The fifty-something canvases I have will be painted for my dh to give to his students at Christmas.
Also, I hung up all my clothes from my wardrobe, bought a slide-under-the-bed-drawer for my lingerie and I'm going to sell that chunky wardrobe that takes up space.
My apartment feels sort of disorganized, but I know that once I complete all my projects it will be functional and less cluttered. For me, the less stuff I have, the better. -

Yeah! I'm glad I have some takers and I'm not alone! My first area to tackle will be the top of the bar in the basement. We don't use it, so I wind up piling things there. No more! Today, my grocery bag gets filled from the bar!

Well, so far this week I've already trashed two yard bags full of junk.... yes, big black trash bags full.
Most of that was from the garage- I'm in the tossing mood, and a lot of stuff I've been saving for "some day" (crafts, papers, etc) got tossed. I've also got a kitchen trash bag full of stuff to go to Goodwill. So, my 3 big bags would average out to a small bag a day, right?
But I'm still decluttering.... so I'll join in and promise to do at least a grocery sack each day for the rest of the week. -

Our basement is a dissaster! Help, it seems overwhelming to just think about it. Our living areas are in great shape, so thats a plus.
I would like to start by filling 5 rubbish bags to dump...tomorrow is pick up..so that is an insetive!
Good luck to all, I'll report back later. -

OK, it's 11am on Tuesday and I've got my grocery bag filled already, just from my computer room.
I'll be flinging more junk today- I'm aiming to fill another black trash bag by the end of the day! -

Whoo-hoo! Sounds great, everyone! I've not gotten to my bag yet. I don't want to make crinkling noises while the boys are sleeping. I'm hitting the office after they wake up!

I have to join too, the house has exploded with junk and dissarray while i was away. So today I have:
given things to 2 people at Freecycle (one box, 1 garbage bag, and one wall decoration.)
moved around my craft stuff to look more accessable and less in the way as well. Looks neater too.
thrown out a walmart bag of stuff. -
