Yup, count me in!!!!!!!! I've put my 2007 christmas bonus money from work aside for next Christmas and am off to a great start!!! I did this last year and wow, it sure helped out big time!!! I've also shopped the sales after Christmas and got some great gifts, wrapping (I don't need much as I've sewed up a ton of gift bags with clearance wire ribbon) stocking stuffers ETC. so I'm doing well. I've got to decide what I'll be making so I can start way ahead of time. Katy

Well, anothe family paid, so I transferred another25 nice start for the year. I'll be hitting the rock bottom sales this weekend. I'll have to pick thru things, but I should find so super cheap gifts and/or b'day gifts for the coming year.

I decided to up the ante a bit for myself, since I want to do a get away next Christmas, i'm taking $25 from each family payment, not 25 per pay. I'm giving up my coffees out, I'll buy a nice mug and make my coffee instead. That'll add up fast as I'm at the rinks up to 6 ot 7 times a week.

I'm think that $25/check is going to be an easy thing to transfer. We can easily waste $25 and not notice it, so why not slip it into savings instead?

I've currently $100 in my Christmas account~! Plus some wrap and cards for next year. This is great!!

I'll be able to buy all my GC for the extended family in February/March. Very simple, and easy and DONE.

I decided that is the easiest thing to do. Then come November, all I'll have is my kids, MIL, FIL and my parents! And we'll see how that goes! This is already looking SO much easier than the last couple years.

    WOOHOO

I was planning to "rob" my tax return this year to pay for what I am hoping will be next Christmas budget. ($20 per person, total of $220 per year) I spotted a "had to have" birthday present for my niece so have bumped what was going to be her birthday present to next Christmas. (both items were within previously budgeted amount) It is nice knowing I already have one person done!

This previous year I scored tons of free or cheap items. I thought that would help suppress the urge to splurge but I still had to fight that urge the closer it got to Christmas. It was as if I didn't feel my free or cheap items were good enough to be the only gifts. (they were!) I hope I don't save and scrimp all year only to splurge again.

I didn't use the credit card but I did still spend more than the above budgeted amount I told myself I would stay within. Bah humbug to that.

I'm in on this one also. My plan is to put away a total of $20 week but won't be able to start until Feb. due to land taxes and repair on truck.

I'm in on the Christmas 2008 Chanllenge but I've decided that most of my gifts will be homemade. The only way I can do this is to stop making things and giving them away as soon as I make them, lol. Actual cash needed will be for shipping only so i'll plan on saving atleast $100.00 for shipping.

    I'll be making.........
    quilts
    quilted wallhangings
    afghans
    snowman & angel Christmas ornaments
    potholders and dishtowel sets
    aprons
    hair scrunchies
    insulated popcan/beer holders
    quilted table runners
    quilted table cloths
    quilted coasters
    clothes pin bags
fancy w/lace and christmas throw pillows
    quilted Christmas fireplace mantel scarves
    sewing machine covers
quilted dog bed pillow cases for all the dogs, lol.

    Gift list is:
    DH
    DS
    Mom
    5 Sisters
    1 Brother
    3 BIL's
    MIL
    countless nephews & neices, lol
    1 real life friend
atleast 5 dogs, 2 are mine, 3 for others...

The list goes on and on, lol. I can't think of anything that I've listed that I will have to actually buy the supplies for. I'm blessed to have so much, partly due to my MIL's old craft business and partly due to my being a good scavenger. I predict this will be a very frugal year for gift giving for many of us.......
