I recently bought a Anchor glass loafpan for $3, 3 recipe cd-roms for $1 each and a small container for $1. I also got slippers ($1) and gloves (originally $14-15, paid $3 each) for several people. I just keep looking at clearance items and if I see something for someone I grab it.

I worked on my quilts that I plan to give.
I have no extra cash to add to the kitty though.

I did it! I got tickets to see the Rockettes! We are going the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I kept watching their website so I would know when the tickets went on sale. Before, I've only thought about it later in the year and all the good seats were sold. We are going to be real close to the front just off center. I'm so excited. It's in Nashville at the Opry House. About a 6 hour drive for us. We are planning to drive up on Friday, spend the night, see the show on Saturday and come home.

I also have $200 put up for Christmas.

I've got $175 saved for Christmas so far. Last week I bought a Spongebob monopoly game for $5 for a nephew, some plates, bowls & mugs with bears/pine trees for my mom & stepdad to use in their camper when they go on vacation... service set for 2 people ... $3. In the past was nothing for hubs and I to spend $1,500 for gift giving... am hoping to do less than $1000 this year... (have 6 kids, 1 grandbaby (will have 3 by Christmas), 3 of the kids have significant others.) Not to mention my folks, brothers, nephews.... Husband's family doesn't exchange gifts... we play fun gift giving game... Am planning some hand crafted gifts as well....

Added wrought iron reindeer and candle from GW: $1 for DS teacher (good gift for male or female teacher)

    So far that makes:
3 videos @$5 each for DGreat nephews and nieces
    1 reindeer candle holder

Working on knitting tote bags for close friends

Not giving to people I'm not close to anymore. (such as school secretaries, bus drivers)

Oh...nearly forgot! DD went to FBLA Competition (she got 1st place in Business Letters) and came home with a pocket full of coins.

    She said:

"Some random girl was asking who wanted her change because she didn't want to carry it. I told her, 'We have a change jar at home, I'll take it.'" LOL! I'm getting DD14 in the habit of thinking frugally!

The $.89 goes in the change jar for Christmas spending!

I really stink at doing Christmas stuff so early in the year, but I need to this year. I spend every year looking at what I get the kids/inlaws and feel like I didn't spend enough (my inlaws spend an insane amount of money on everyone), so this year I'm saving up! It makes me wish I can open a second savings account.

With property taxes in June/July, and school shopping for two boys in August, it might be good to start saving now.

I added a little to my Christmas account. I need to pick up the pace a little bit I think.

Still plugging away with the savings, but no shopping over the last 2 months. Really need to get some shopping done, but with gas so high I'm keeping extra trips, stops & such to a minimum. Maybe time to do a little online shopping or some crafts to at least get myself focused on gifts!

My husband is 50 and I am 41. We don't exchange gifts anymore with any adults. It is so much less stressful. After all Christmas is for kids. We give our 2 grandchildren $50.00 each and our daughter a little more in cash. Other than that it should just be about sharing time together.
If you want to give something give your time or your help. That is usually the most appreciated thing you can give to someone.
I would much rather have someone teach me something I'm interested in learning than stress out trying to buy me a gift that I really don't need.

I like to have extra Christmas money set aside because there are always charities or someone who I find might be in need.

Our kids are younger and we do buy for them. There are a few small kids in our family, but the adults just pick names and that's worked out well for us.
