didn't intend to, but tossed 3 new mugs my ds gave me for christmas. I really liked them, and intended to keep them and get rid of other older ones, then they fell off the counter and shattered. Bummer.

Ooh, Michelle...thanks for reminding me! I got rid of my 2007 calendar. Sounds like a no-brainer, but I used to keep all of my old calendars. Why? I have no idea, but I had, like, 10 years worth of old calendars. Last year, I decided that was insane and so I tossed them all. January 1, 2008 - I copied all the important dates into my new calendar (which was free, by the way...it was a calendar that Matthew's daycare made as a Christmas gift with his handprints) and then I chucked the old calendar. Better update my total!

I took 10 Christmas "things" that I did not need to Goodwill.

Trashed 1 pair of yucky socks.

Added 1 pair of jeans, 3 t-shirts, and some candle holder thing I never use to my bag (charity truck comes tomorrow). Threw out a greeting card that had been sitting on my mantle forever, and a box from my photo printer.

Tomorrow I am going through my server in my kitchen and dumping several of the "too many" serving platters and trays I have. I will donate them to a hospital thrift store. I also plan on going through my laundry room closet and tossing old items. I'm sure there are a few that are no longer any good.

I just noticed this thread. What a great idea. 7 items a week sounds amazingly easy (since I'm not a saver it does to me not sure if it does to everyone else) but consistant enough to keep the clutter thought about.

Yesterdat I talked DH into parting with
    1 collectible bottle
    1 collectible box
    1 ugly shot glass

I guess I'll consiously pay attention to what I part with over the weekend.

I got rid of a few outfits of dd's that she out grew. Gave them to one of the families that I provide daycare for, they are kind of poor. The little girl was so excited!

I just listed a lot of 30 pc. of clothing for $30 on Craigslist, as well as a zip-up jacket I only wore once. If they don't sell by the end of the weekend, I will find a place to donate them because I just want it all gone!! I also listed my old cell phone (pink razr) because I recently switched carriers.

Today I shipped out 3 items from eBay. I also tossed a bag of bags, if that makes any sense. We used to save plastic bags to wrap up poopie diapers in. Since Ds2 has been potty trained, there is only one in diapers which means we need less bags.

Well yesterday I was in a purging mood and packed up 50 items for goodwill. I also have some for Freecycle, listed a few books on Amazon and Bookmooch (one got mooched right away!), and have maybe 7 items of clothing to try to sell to Plato's Closet.

I am joining this challenge! My #1 goal for 2008 is to declutter my house. Last Sunday, I packed up 2 boxes of books and 2 boxes of household items and took them to Goodwill. Now I am so motivated!

So, for 2008, this week I got rid of:

6 bags of dog treats (free with coupons) that I gave to a co-worker with 2 dogs
Gave a perfectly good George Foreman grill to DH's cousin. (We kept the larger model.)
I have 2 metal tins to go to recycling. (Once they show any sign of rust inside, I get rid of them.)
    Sold a book on half.com
    Sold 2 items on ebay
