This week I have gotten rid of

    1. boots
    2. some clothes
    3. loads and loads of travel pamphlets
    4. magazines
    5. books
    6.coupons
7.recipe booklets that I can look up the recipes online instead of keeping the paper clutter in my home

Today I cleaned out the top shelf of my linen closet. I got rid of so much stuff. I filled a supermarket bag of recycling. The top shelf is used for phone books, favorite recipe books, restaurant menus and flyers for the week. Now it is nice and neat. While I was decluttering I found an envelope with a part in it that I did not know what it was. I put it aside for DH and when he got home he told me it was a switch for the fan above the stove. The funny thing was we were going to order this part within the next couple of weeks. The switch on the fan broke about a month ago and I have wanted to order the part. Usually these parts can get expensive with shipping and everything. I am so glad I found this envelope. DH must have ordered 2 switches the last time we had to replace the switch so that we would have an extra one just in case. The just in case time came but because of the paper clutter we would have spent money on another one...but now we don't have to. I am patting myself on the back and typing this at the same time. LOL

I got rid of more than seven things. I didn't take the time to count but I took a whole trunkload to the thrift store. I also sold two books on half.ebay.com . While at the thrift shop I didn't buy anything.

Okay, I'm taking a PDA that we sold on eBay to the Post Office, so that's one.

I'm getting rid of 3 little books that have been sitting on the shelf for quite some time. They are those little inspriational books. I'm just counting them as one.

Toss a bunch of receipts... those really get out of hand! Took a "truck load" of plastic shopping bags to the thrift shop. I reuse some at home, but only need so many & I know they will use them. On a side note I bought one of those "green" reuseable shopping bags from Target. Not sure how well it will holded up, but for $1.49 we'll see. Hope I use it a lot... may get another if I see its working out. Also dropped off a bag of stuff at the thrift store & didn't buy anything. Of couse they were closed, but at least I'm not "trading" stuff with them!

Dd is having twin friends over tomorrow to play, so we thought it might be a good idea to clean her room. She and I filled a grocery bag (not all her fault...her brothers play in her room frequently and make quite a mess) of pieces and parts and broken things. Since it's a whole bag of stuff I'm getting rid of, I'm counting it as two things. Compromise...I'm not counting each item, but it's definitely bigger than one thing.
