    Default Tomato Supports overhead strings

28 May 2014 Tomato Supports overhead strings. 28 May 2014 Tomato Supports overhead strings
Support strings were attached for all the tomato plants. Additional strings will be instated as required as the plants get larger. I find this the best way to support tomato plants without hindering their growth.

Default Applying mulch to tomato bed

30 May 2014 Applying mulch to tomato bed. 30 May 2014 Applying mulch to tomato bed
Wood chip mulch was applied to the tomato bed. This is to retain moisture during the season. The chips are readily available at $10.00 per cubic yard, and I pick them up as needed. Transport is in my van with a half yard box installed. My whole garden is mulched and renewed each year as required.
