I usually NEVER leave the house that Friday if I can at ALL help it (although, I may actually head out this year, the used bookstore is having kids books for .29 and I am trying to get the home-school thing together)
I am buying what I need to online. If I can't get it online, I didn't need it that much to begin with

we will be making x-mas ornaments and other fun things out of modeling clay and misc decor, drinking hot cider & hot chocolate... in a front of a roaring fire in a cabin in the middle of the woods overlooking a lake....

I'd rather be tarred and feathered in the middle of downtown Portland than to get up at the @$$ crack of dawn to fight the Black Friday crowds....not happening, not happening, so not happening.

I think that the only shopping I am doing for the rest of the week is at Walgreens - their special on green beans is perfect for me, my budget and the pantry!!

I am with YOU LB!!! There is NOTHING........absolutely NOTHING I need bad enough to fight the crowd!!
I even try to stay OFF THE STREETS as the idiots are driving so fast and crazy to get to the next store!!!
And the article said some have "5 per store"..........WHAT? My life is not worth getting beat to death by a 'sumo wrestler' to get one of the five!!!!

I saw a sign at Starbucks yesterday saying they'd be open at 2 AM on Black Friday. I feel sorry for those workers. 2 freaking AM!

......AND THEN THERE'S ME.
I actually don't need much else for Christmas, so I don't have to be up for black friday.....but I like to. That;s right, you heard me. I LOVE TO!
Being up at 4 AM for Black Friday ushers in "the Christmas shopping season" for me. The only time in my whole life (even as a kid) that I cannot remember being out shopping on black Friday was when we were in China 3 years ago adopting our daughter. And it felt weird.
Anyway, if youo happen to wake up at 4AM, you can think of me. The crazy lady. Out there.

I'm right there with you IntlMom, I'll be out there too! It's a tradition of my oldest son and I. We have a great bonding time while we find those last gifts on our list. I'm totally into the Christmas music being piped throughout the mall, the people, the excitement. Really gets me in the spirit!
I had even thought of going to IKEAS Black Friday sale. free breakfast and coffee till 10:30 am and then 11 pm till closing a plate of Sweedish meatballs $1. They have good baby gifts and I need a baby girl gift that won't break the bank.

I will also be out there... but I dont go till about 8am. I generally get all I want and where I live the stores are not to bad at that time... you beat the early birds and the late shoppers that make there way back from the larger malls that are not to far away from me... ( I would never go to a huge mall to much madness)

My husband and I are going. Our DD is going to stay with my mom on Thursday night so we can get up and go. We still have a few gifts to get and the ones we need are some we could get great deals on. It may just be Kohl's this year, but I'll wait until I have the ads in hand before deciding.
