What did you learn from your frugal notebook for the first week of January?

    Me.........

    - I saved $22.46 by purchasing items on sale.

    - I used $3.85 in coupons.

    - We used $381.34 worth of materials from the library.

    - $40.31 went into our EF.

    - $.18 was saved up for the penny challenge.

Kim I'm going to answer this tomorrow. I have to add my totals up tonight or first thing in the morning. Can't wait to see how much I actually saved.

    Here is mine:

    I saved $4.84 in coupons/Sobey's coupons

I saved $6.90 by shopping 10% off Tues.

    I saved $26.04 by purchasing 2 devotional books at 70 & 60% off

We saved $75.00 by using a gc (we used it for gas for the van and boots for me. I waited until the boots came on sale at 50% off as well.

I saved $9.00 on a baking pan by using $9.00 in Canadian Tire money to purchase it.

I saved $15.00 by shopping sale items.

I didn't do the library books yet - I'll add those up at the end of Jan.

I had a few awesome bargain finds this week. (I sort of feel like a butt-inski because I don't post much, but I just have to share these!)

I needed (not wanted, NEEDED) a winter coat. I had my eye on on from Lands' End, because the one that was giving up the ghost lasted me more than 10 years. So, I was at St. Vincent's the other day, and I found a nearly identical one to what I wanted for $8.98, versus the $90.00 I was going to spend. $81.02 saved!

I also found some new barn boots to wear in the chicken coop. Those were only $4.75, so I easily saved myself $15.25 there.

Best bargain was a whole gallon of cream paint, plus the exact shade of green trim I wanted to re-do my home office. $1.50 for both! Amazing. I'll just take them to my local hardware guy for a good shake-up and I'll get painting next week. Easily saved $30.00 there.

It was a great bargain week! Over $125.00 not spent!
