My son is having a birthday party today.
My younger son (30 days younger, but still younger!) is 10 today. He's my "special needs" son. We are having a birthday party for him today at 11:00-12:30 Central time at our town park. It has a water park area as well, so the kids will hopefully play in the water and at the park and call it a party. I got Uncrustables (no frugal at all!!), capri suns, cheetos, fruit snacks and cookies for the party. (he doesn;t like cake, it';s a texture thing).
Oh, but here's the punchline..........
there are 5 kids coming.....ALL GIRLS!!!
The girls LOVE him.....he's very very sweet, they all want to be the one to help him, and be near him. So anyway, it should be interesting! I am not a birthday party mom, so I threw this together a few days ago. They just play, eat, and open presents, hopefully they'll have fun and I'll survive!

Sounds like fun!! I have never really been a huge birthday party Mom neither. My DS birthday is 30 AUG - so before school comes back in and usually around the holiday as well. For my DD first birthday we had a nice adult get together with all of our friends to celebrate making it through that first year! Second one - we had cake at home and took a couple of pictures! It sounds like fun - hope the weather corporates.

Oh, that will be so much fun. It should be a stress free time for you as the kids will all entertain themselves in the water. Happy Birthday to your ds.

Well, it's over, and yep, he had a blast! I had to deal with a bit of "girl politics". You know the kind "Traci, I want to play with Drew, but so and so won;t let me play with him".......... I'm not used to girl politics. Forturtunately, we made it most of the time with no problems. They thought the food was great!
Whew! Done for another year!!
