Question about kids' birthday parties?
Kathryn is having her first friend-only birthday party in a few weeks. For those of you who have thrown these parties, generally how long do you have them? Is 2-4 too little time? Would 2-5 be better?
Thanks!

Michelle, 2-4 is fine. If this is your first one , you will be ready to have them leave after 2 hours. LOL Really though we usually have them about 2 hours. If your chicld is 3 or so it will be plenty long enough.

Thanks slowtypinwoman. This party is for my older dd who will be turning 6. We are inviting 6 kids, and I have my SIL coming to help me and dh (and she is AWESOME with kids
), so I'm not too worried about having them here and wanting them to leave LOL

I find 2 hours works best. They always buzz through the games so fast it seems. I bet she is very excited! It's not long until you'll be braving the slumber parties.

I just had Delaney's a few weeks ago for her 6th birthday and it was from 2-4. It worked out perfect!! If I could have guaranteed a beautiful day I maybe would have had it an hour longer. We went outside to blow bubbles, skip, draw with chalk etc...and they were having so much fun!
Good luck with your party!

I can't wait for the sleepovers...though I must admit it's partly because I saw this sleepover cake that I'm dying to make for them.

2-4 is usually the best I think for kids parties..... they can come and have fun and really 2 hours is usually enough..
Sleep-overs what a nightmare we did one last year and I don't know why they called it a sleep over no-one slept :~)
I used to have them and remeber then as fun but now as a parent nightmare...
