Frugal Birthday Party - Yay!
I had been agonizing about what to do for my daughter's 4th birthday. Last year I shelled out $150 for a party through the local rec department, and of the dozen or so invited, only three showed up! Yet I didn't want to invite a dozen kids to the house this year, and have everyone come and the house full. I was thinking about paying to have the party somewhere like a fast food place or the YMCA. I kind of settled on the Y - $45 for up to ten kids, and they get to play soccer, then have cake & ice cream.
Well, my daughter said no to that - she just wants 3-4 friends to come to the house, watch her Toy Story dvd, and run around in the back yard. And she doesn't want lunch, so we're doing it from 2-5, with (homemade) cake, ice cream, and (per request) donuts.
This morning we made invitations with printer paper, markers, glue, glitter, and pictures cut from a magazine.
I tell you, this is going to be practically free. Probably less than $20 for the cake ingredients, ice cream, and donuts.

Happy 4th birthday to your precious little daughter. Now, if only she will want something just as simple for her 16th birthday, LOL.
Make sure to take pictures and share with us.

good for you. It always feels great to do something for less and get really great results at the same time.

WTG! She'll probably have more fun at this party than if you'd have spent $100 or more. Good for you both!
