...and thus ends Birthday Season
Ahhhh...
8 7-year old girls just left my house, thus ending the two-week period in my house known as Birthday Season.
Last Monday, Matthew turned 2. Last Friday, Patrick turned 4. And today, Julia turned 7.
We combined the boys birthdays into a Cars-themed family party with their cousins that are around their ages last Saturday. Easy, no fuss, fun.
Then, today Julia had 8 of her friends come over for a Mystery Party. We played "Pin the Magnifying Glass on the Detective" and I made up an Alphabet Code and then accompanying clues and we hid each girls goodie bag somewhere different throughout the house and the clues led each different girl to her different bag. We had other games, but they started making up their own stuff, like having shows for each other, where in teams they would perform songs and so forth and the others would sit in the audience until it was their turn. Very cute. Very loud. Very giggly.
And now, they are all gone. Ahhhh... They actually were all very good little girls and they had a great time. It's just a lot of girls at once.
So, with the exception of my Mother's birthday on Monday (my brother-in-law's b-day was the 13th and his wife's was the 9th) Birthday season is officially over.
Time to relax.

~That mystery party sounds fun! I'm dreading the party years with my kids, they're 2 days apart and opposite genders and at Christmastime. Everyone is so stressed in December to begin with. Luckily, they're too small to care right now. I know it's worth it for older kids though. I loved the creative parties my mom put together when I was a kid.~

Glad it's over for you! My boys have b-days within two weeks of each other. Back when they were younger, I swore that I would NEVER combine their parties--I thought each one deserved his own party. Ummm....cancel that!!! This year they're sharing a party. I'm so glad I never shared my original theory with them.

That sounds like a blast - I am trying to figure out a CSI themed party for DD12 this year.
I love having birthday parties for my girls but I especially love when their over!
Hop in a bubble bath and relax - you've earned it!

That sounds like a lot of fun, a mystery party. Fun idea that the girls had to find their own goodie bag. I might have to use that idea in the near future.
