1st Bday party
OK, so dd will be turning one in June. I am starting to plan now because we have so much going on May-Aug. This is how I feel but I want to know what you would think. I am not having goody bags for other kids, there will not be hardly any at all maybe 3 between the ages 2-8. Is that rude. I am not gloing to play any games she is only going to be one. So my questions are.........
Is it rude to not have anything for the other kids that attend?
What did you do for your child's 1st birthday party?

Well you know, when my oldest turned 5 we decided to not organize any special games or activities because all the kids want to do is play. Nothing forced, but just to play with my son's toys. They (6 kids plus my 2 boys) had a blast because they didn't HAVE to do anything. They did get goody bags though (nothing BIG) because I think that kids expect that kinda. I think for all the kids together the goody bags cost 2 couple euros.

I do think goody bags are kind of expected. For young kids, they don't understand why they aren't the center of attention. The goody bags help with that. You don't have to spend a lot... go to the $1 store and just get a little.
I never did organize games.

Thanks for the advice, I'll check out the Dollar Tree in the next 2 weeks to see what I can get.

i always do goodie bags (DS is 4) but we almost never have planned activities. i spend very little the dollar store has a pack of 2 board books and then i get a sheet of stickers or temp tattoos and divide them up then maybe some crayons or the tiny party sized play doh which often comes in a multi pack that i split up. i usually spend $2-3 per kid.
for my son's first bday it was all adults and i made them a little magnet that was my son's first initial with a party hat on it LOL i made i them from scrap fun foam i had in my craft box...free
