Question looking for recipes using dried chickpeas, dried lentils and tvp

to save money I am going to start cooking more with dried chickpeas, lentils and tvp. So what are some of your recipes using chickpeas, lentils or tvp?

Google chickpea mock tuna for an easy, fast and delicious tuna-like spread. I use canned chickpeas, but you could cook the dry chickpeas in a crockpot or pressure cooker and use them instead of the canned ones. There are several recipes that have slightly different ingredients. I make it with the same ingredients I like for real tuna salad. Also, chickpeas make awesome "cutlets" that remind me of porkchops. The recipe for chickpea cutlets is on the Post Punk Kitchen website. There is also an excellent lentil soup with grilled pineapple recipe on the PPK website. Now I'm getting hungry... I may have to make some homemade crackers and some mock tuna!

Chickpeas are one of my favorite foods!

Some of my favorite ways to use dried chickpeas are in falafel, hummus, tacos, and chickpea crouquettes.

I have recipes for these, as well as TVP sloppy joes, TVP "meatballs", and curried lentils on my blog: Sage & Simple: recipes

My fav use for chickpeas is in 3 bean salad. I just love them in there with french sliced green beans and kidney beans.

Thanks for the thread, my goal is to stop buying so much meat and switch to more dried beans and legumes. I will be watching this thread closely.
