Default Who is the better cook.... you or your spouse?

I have to confess... husband is the better cook. He was single to the age of 42, cooked for himself most of that time and did not use a lot of convience foods.

I was born and raised on boxes of this and cans of that, so when we got married.. "cooking" to me was hamburger helper and a can of green beans

He likes to experiment, add different spices or things.... and must have had a few "oops" cooking experiences because he can fix things if I goof them up

I do the majority of cooking here, but dh is the better cook. I cook simple and traditional type meals. He makes anything that requires any type of cooking skills. *LOL*

He worked in a few restaurants, as well as his family owning one, so is definitely more knowledgeable.

**Are you reading this Gabe? Make me some soup! *LOL* **

We had a little bake off here a couple months ago. His cookies were not too good. muwhaha.

Dh makes a great omlet, but otherwise makes nothing but a mess so my kitchen is off limits.

Here Here! My DH is definitely the better cook. He can cook anything and make it taste like Mom's, but he is such a slob in the kitchen that I refuse to clean if he cooks...so guess who gets to do all the cooking!

Gregg (aka Hubby) couldn't find the kitchen with a map and directions. Need I say more?

Me hands down. When we met dh didn't know how to cook anything. Now he can make mac and cheese and open cans.

I would say we're equal--though he is more creative and adventurous. I prefer to stick to recipes, which he hates to do. This is why I am the baker of the family, and he can't bake to save his life

We are also pretty equal. He hasn't poisoned me yet, and he has survived my cooking LOL!! Honestly, he does awesome with the grill, so in the summer, he gets to do pretty much all the cooking. He also does a great job with making breakfasts- like omlettes, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, eggs with sausage or bacon. I'm not a horrible cook, but I'll let him cook for me any day!!

I am getting better but he has done more cooking in his life so he is the better cook.

Me, definitely. There are very few things in which I'd toot my own horn like this, but DH will openly admit the same.

In the 8 years we've ben married, DH has cooked me one meal - for our first married Valentines day. He made me box lasagna, mac and cheese, and carrots. So, I'm the better cook.

Our 12 year old son. He is the best cook in the house. He can make absolutely anything and everything is always so good.

DH and I are pretty much tied. We both cook equal amount of meals and we each have our specialties.

Dh was a better cook when we married. I learned a lot from him.

Then I became the cook, but he's still good. When I'm too sick or busy, he's right at home in the kitchen.
