Hi!
I was just wondering what your favorite frugal meal or recipe is?

I'm trying to build up my personal cookbook (a 3 ring binder filled with recipes from the Net)

I think mine is homemade soup! I love soup and its a great way to use up leftover veggies and meat. yummy!

Whats yours?

I serve this with a salad & garlic bread. Cheap, quick, easy and tasty.:) I usually double the recipe to have leftovers for lunch. My kids have always enjoyed this dish.

TOMATOED MACARONI

1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. dried oregano leaves
8 oz. uncooked elbow macaroni
Grated Parmesan cheese

Cook macaroni as directed. While macaoni is cooking~Heat tomatoes with liquid (can squish the tomatoes a bit), butter, teaspoon salt, and the oregano to boiling. Reduce heat. Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, 10 to 12 minutes. Arrange in serving dish, pour sauce on hot macaroni. Serve with parmesian cheese.

Spagetti is a favorite here, and I stretch jarred sauce with frozen tomatos from the garden.

Also eggs, scrambled, sandwiches, fried, omlettes, etc.

And toasted cheese sandwiches and tomato soup or ramen noodles
