I typically only use 1/2 lb at a time.

I make spaghetti, tacos, hamburger helper, etc.

I also like to brown my hamburger with some fajita seasoning, some slivers of green and red pepper and diced onion. At the same time, I am make a poouch of 4 cheese mashed potatos. Drain it, then put it in a casserole dish. Put shredded mozzarella cheese over it and then layer the mashed potatoes over them and bake for about 10=15 minutes. It's yummy.

    You could make stuffed peppers.

I like making Enchiladas using Old El Paso's 28-ounce Enchilada Sauce - Mild Red. All you need is 1 lb. meat, 1 pack of tortillas, and cheese.

I would use half to make spaghetti, brown it and add in a can of spaghetti sauce, sometimes I also add a can of diced tomatoes.

Then I would use the other half for chili. To the meat add, 1 can of diced tomatoes, 1-2 cans of kidney beans, and a packet of chili seasoning (or use your own, but I find the store brands at about .50 are cheap and easy).

I just cut up a green pepper, onion, garlic, instant brown rice (any will do) can of diced tomatoes, left over spagetti sauce (hanging all alone in the fridge) and the hamburger mixed it all together.. almost like a stuffed pepper just all cut up. I am cooking it now. Ten minutes before ready, I will slather it with either bq sauce, ketchup or more tomatoe paste.

    My kids love it..
sneaky way to get rid of the green peppers...

Everyone had such good ideas. One thing my Mom used to make for us when she had no money was to take a pound of hamburger and season it with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Then she would roll the hamburger into meatballs and drop them into a pot of boiling water. She would also add in quartered peeled potatoes, cut carrots and quartered onions. She would let it simmer until the vegetables were done. The meatballs take on a spicy flavor that is really tasty.

Porcupines! I'd have to look up a recipe, but basically they are a kind of meatball with rice (which sticks out and makes them look like porcupines).

taco bake..Brown hamburger add taco mix as directed place in bakeing dish mix up a box of corn bread mix according to package..drop around the outside of the top of the hamburger mix and bake until corn bread is done and brown..If you have lettice, tomato, onion chopped, anything that you put on a taco if not it is still good by its self..

You can add rolled oats too make hamburger go farther in sloppy joes..

also bell pepper, onion, garlic, and rice added with soy sauce is good too...you have to add a little water to cook the rice...with bread and butter. don't take much of this to fill a hungery person up...

Brown the burger with some onion and garlic, throw in some cream soup and put in crockpot with some slice potatoes. The amount of soup you use depends on how soupy you like it.
