Soap help needed
Quite a while back dh picked up a 40 lb bucket of powdered laundry soap. I do the majority of our wash in cold water. We also have well water. I want to use this soap up but it doesn't disolve in cold water.
I tried boiling water, mixing the soap in and putting it in an empty liquid soap bottle. However I later got clumps of it on my darker laundry. Any ideas how to use this up???

Try adding some washing soda to a test load I have hard water and sometimes that helps. (Also try using less soap and more water.)
Arm & Hammer makes the washing soda. Check the label and see if it has any in it? Or, you could try getting ahold of the manufacturer and see what they say?

Can you use a lg measuring cup full of hot water and dissolve the detergent in there then add it into a warm/hot filling machine, swish the agitator around a bit and then flip the switch to cold water for the remainder of the tub fill up?
I had to do that with the remainder of the powdered Tide we had before I became allergic to it. Since then we've switched over to liquid laundry detergent.
