    Default Putting Away the Laundry

Okay, I'm sitting on my bed with dh's laptop going through the village here, but my eyes keep straying to the right of my bed where two laundry baskets, full of clean clothes, sit. They are calling out to me to get off the computer and put them away, but I can't do it right now. It's been a long night. I realize that if I had put them away right when I brought them up, I wouldn't have to be fighting with them right now.

So, this situation begs the question...what do you do with your laundry? Do you put it away as soon as it is dry? Do you leave it in the laundry room and put it away later? Do you take it to it's eventual location and wait until it starts yelling at you to put it away? Maybe you are REALLY bad (as I have been known to be) and just live out of the clean laundry basket. (Shame on you.)

    So, which is it?

I try to put it away right away or at least when I am done all my loads for the day. Try is the operative word here. But If i leave a stack of folded laundry in the laundry room one of three things will happen. My horrible stinky (female) cat will mark it, or dh will dig through it and unflod everything leaving it all over the floor, or i will ignore it and it'll get worse. So I try to put it away pretty promptly.

Well my kids clothes get put right away but dh and I, our room is upstairs so it tends to accumulate at the top of the stairs. One day a week I go through and put it all away!

I put it away as soon as it's done. I don't have a laundry room in the house so I don't have anywhere to leave it.

Whoever is laundry helper for the week helps me sort, wash, and fold. He'll put the towles and rags away as well. The rest of the clothes are left folded and piled on my bed... everybody is responsible for getting their own clothes hung and put away.

Depends on my mood and whatever else is going on at the time. I try to put it away as soon as I take it out of the dryer and fold it, but I have been known to let it sit for quite some time in the clothes basket ~ usually in our bedroom. If I leave clean laundry in a basket in the laundryroom, DH may mistake it for dirty laundry and stick his dirty clothes on top.

A combination of all of the above, unfortunately. I HATE putting away laundry. Don't know why, I just do.

I do a combination of all of the above, too.

I'm bad about folding it and then living out of the laundry basket, but, sometimes I am on top of things and put it all away as soon as it's folded.

It seems like there is frequently someone in the bedroom sleeping and the clothes get piled on to of the washer/dryer. Space is limited though, so they get put away within a day or 2.

    Yep that's me too!

I am getting better though since I cleaned out my closets and dressers, I now have room for everything. Jack does his own clothes most of the time so I don't have to worry about those.

If I hang the clothes out on the line, I am so much better at putting them away maybe because it is done all at once and not as each load is done.

I put each load away immediately after taking it out of the dryer.

I *usually* fold my laundry as soon as it's ready, but I sometimes leave the clothes in the baskets....
