I just read this thread - it's very good! I have to admit that I don't have much self-control when it comes to sweets, and my dh - when it comes to snacks (like chips, etc.) So now we no longer buy any dessert for the house, and buy snacks only occasionally. If it's not in the house - I can't eat it, no matter how much I want it I find that it's the only way to keep myself from overindulging in them. On the other hand, I do have dessert on special occasions and can enjoy it then guilt free!

If I have it ing the house I will eat as well. I find that I can be lazy but if there is already fruit peeled and veggies cut I will eat those instead.
