Well I booked all my medical tests yesterday after seeing this list! Double checked my next dental exam date too. Good thing. I'd forgotten to put it in my daytimer! Had my annual physical yesterday and went to the lab and xray right away this morning. Nothing like getting it out of the way!

    6. Renovate kitchen?
    - DH and I did a lot of Net research and had a good discussion about this. I was somewhat dismayed by the cost of everything. We decided in the end that the goal was to get a decent kitchen in here to sell the house, not a top notch kitchen. We are not moving appliances or buying new ones. We are simply going to add a dishwasher for resale value...and go with melamine cupboards and a regular countertop...no fancy granite etc. DH thinks we can save up the money for that kind of kitchen by mid-summer. We'll see.

    12. Read a creative/craft/art book a month. - reading several chapters of "Vein of Gold". I'm in the sound section now. Not so many difficult projects. Just humming and listening to music at the moment. I already do a lot of what she has for tasks in this section of the book.

That's all I can remember for yesterday.

TheRN, that's a good idea about putting the word out; we do that too. We bought a pressure canner years ago when we first got married. Then about 6 years ago, some friends were moving to AZ and had a yard sale. They let us come first and told us about all the canning stuff they had. We bought 2 pressure canners, a pressure cooker, 3 water bath canners, a propane turkey cooker and a lot of quart jars.

FF, just think how glad you'll be to have it over with!

MrsMcD, sounds like you're making progress!

Wow Peanut, you don't fool around, do you!

Nope Daylily. I don't. I gotta strike when the iron is hot because I'm over 40 and my brain cells are dying off and I might forget if I don't do it right away!

    2. Knit through "The Knitter's Almanac" by Elizabeth Zimmerman. - I'm almost done spinning the yarn for the Aran hat. One more spindle to go. I plied another skein today. Still have more to ply.

    14. Hook 2 more rugs by July 1st. And another 2 by Dec. 31st.
    - embroidered the rug binding today...next to sew it on the rug to finish the edge.

I haven't got the results from the woman's exam yet but the blood pressure was 120/80. I also got the referral for the Mammogram. I just need to pick my old results from the last HMO to bring to the new place. I will do my lab work in 2 months to see if the exercise has any effect on the cholesterol-My blood work last year was pretty good. I will also schedule an appointment with a dermatologist to burn an AK off. I love going to the dentist so no problem there.

Sounds like a fun themed night before the redo of the room .... maybe a Tarzan and Jane weekend... thinking loincloth and furry blankets... maybe drum or rainforest music....or you could just have fun and pretend to be chimps

marjorie: that's good progress! It can be challenging at times when there are other distractions around. I envy you your homemade cards. I have to sort through mine. I need some special ones for my daughters soon. I like to send them a little something so they don't forget me!

FF: I booked my mammogram yesterday too. I had a letter since October telling me to come in for one. I was ignoring it because there's no history of breast cancer in the family at all, and my family doctor hadn't told me to go. In Canada the letter comes directly from the outfit doing the breast cancer screening. You go when you're called apparently. Hmmm...

Mrs. McD: could be interesting times in that room!

    2. Knit through "The Knitter's Almanac" by Elizabeth Zimmerman.

Spent time winding a skein, washing and hang drying another skein of yarn for the hat. Started spinning more wool for it. Hopefully I'll have enough wool!

    13. Set up a blog that generates 100 regular repeat visitors a week.

Spent time editing my blog today.

    I did pretty well yesterday
12.learn 100 Spanish words or phrases

    Lo siento = I'm sorry

2.spend at least two, two to three day mini-vacations away with DH (very frugally of coarse)
I pulled up a few possibilities for actual dates (2/18-2/20 & 2/25-2/27) and places for our first mini- trip and began discussing these with DH. Also had DH update me on how many vacation days he has to use up and by when.

3.be able to jog 4 to 5 miles routinely without breaking to walk for a minute
Went jogging outside for the first time in a few weeks. I went at least 3 times a week routinely for most of the year but then come the first week of Dec. it got too cold and hectic for me to stay motivated. I tried the inside thing a couple of times but it was really boring running around my house which is not a large home. Anyhow I am off more than I'd like from where I was a few weeks a go but managed 2.4 miles with only 3 2 minute walks.

Not sure which ones I'll work on today. Gotta see how it plays out.

It's www.hs2o.livejournal.com. A lot of it is a repeat of what I post on FV. But I sometimes go on tangents or into more detail.

Hmmm...I discovered I can't sew the binding on my run just now. I need to wait till my serger comes back from the shop so I can serge edges first. So I'll concentrate on the Aran hat...and maybe starting a new rug...
