Hit Sprouts for a 2 lb. bag cuties on sale for $1.88 and used 50 cents off coupon and ground beef at $1.99 lb. Then bought two jugs of detergent at 99 cents each with my rewards card at Walgreens. Salmon, roasted okra, and broccoli salad for tonight’s dinner. Grew the okra, salad fixings free from soup kitchen and got the salmon on sale earlier in the month.

SD the dresses are going to make beautiful baby gowns.....

Not so frugal today.....friend and her son came into town from La. so I took them to lunch at Olive Garden. Haven't seen her in about 25 years at her wedding. She was my mission youth pastor to teens when my son was in 11th grade....he will be 46 next week so it's been many many years ago.

Tomorrow is my daughter's 49th birthday.....I found her an old doll size high chair which we repainted white (she had one when she was small)….will put a small potted plant on the seat....and will tie a balloon on the back of it...

My glasses are ready....picking up tomorrow...I ended up using my old titanium frames which I really loved....they are so light I forget I have them on. And they are in excellent condition. Saved a few bucks....

GB- So glad you're taking time to work out. I enjoy it too.

SD- I like your thinking. Getting the brakes done is way cheaper than a accident. And less stressful.

I went to the gym and work. Have things planned this week to get done and must call the claims person. I'll probably forget that one and I know DH will forget....So, I emailed myself that note.....

I got Puffins cereal for $1.99/box. DS2 has a good supply of that and corn flakes now. And bananas. He eats 3 bananas a day.

I have a meeting today and then I'm going to the optican store to pick out new glasses. My sight have changed -0.5 since my last glasses three years ago. When I had my test last week the optican recommended an e-reader to help my eyes. I read a lot of e-books.

I have too much food in my pantry and freezer, so I want to more of what I already have. Going to make granola and cookies today or tomorrow.

My cat have started biting the corners of my phone/tablet/laptop, when I use it. It's annoying, and I think she might be bored.

Going to a luncheon at the Women’s Club. It is a presentation by a friend of mine on Dolly Parton. I don’t like the uppity ladies that usually attend, but I will have lunch and then listen to the review since my friend is doing it.

I spent $30 on a wool coat, a wool jumper, and two skirts from a thrift store today.

I got some groceries at CVS using a $5 off $15 coupon, $3 off CVS product coupon and $1 Extrbucks from prior purchase. Spent $13.
Weather is finally warming up. My winter coats & other clothing really need washing/cleaning. Ugh.

I started some mung bean sprouts to avoid buying the canned ones. They're almost ready to put in jahb chae. We love that stuff and should eat it more often.

We checked over the garden situation to figure out what we already have to use for projects. Shouldn't have to buy much except various forms of dirt.

GB- So nice that you're going to see a former student play!

Trying to sell DH's car online. It's not running and so far, he has a offer of $240. I just put it on Craigslist so we'll see. It's taking up a parking spot in front of the house so it must go...…

Driving to the condo to visit some repairmen and the insurance agent who wanted to see it. We told her that the repairs are being done but the police report has photos, so we will order that report. Originally, a agent said that maybe it was "hard living" and not damage done to malicious intent. I don't know where these insurance people come up with these terms.....

Rain, fog and a high of 49 today. I hope to get our stuff done and get back home in one piece.

We're going to a fish fry at a friend's church tonight. Donations only. It should be good..I like supporting his church.
Tomorrow I have a baby shower to go to. OMG~bought a package of disposable diapers for a game, and I was SHOCKED at how much they are. When my kids were babies, you could get a good size package for $10. Now they're $24~! Talk about inflation, huh?

maybe spring fever with the cats. I know that is happening here. don't want to come in. kitten being a stinker getting on the counter. in teen stage..all full of bravo until he has to prove it like going outside on the leash..freaks and wants back in within minutes. girls took him out in the backyard.

taking advantage of the last days of $3 movies so kids went yesterday and dd and friend today. went to aquaman..so many toddlers..pg 13 movie..like stay home with your kid time and place and 16mth old kids are not suppose to be there. at least the movie was loud enough to cover the noise and attendant told parent to keep kid in the seat ..was just going to move away. they had come down to where I was sitting. after waiting for the girls so many little kids and only one kid movie playing. strollers etc. guess I am from a different era.

stopped at safeway there and got some groceries. had a cake urge got a boston cream pie...haven' t had one for ages. threw away rotten fruit. kids friends over. thinking chinese for dinner will see. dh is out.

usually housework.. sunny bringing out the smell of ds smelly feet on the couch pillows so took covers off to wash. working this weekend so will get any housework done that is needed. need to vacuum too.

Ran to DT to pick up two balloons for my middle grandson's birthday....was going to put on mail box....ran into Walmart (ugh) and picked up a dozen cupcakes and a HUGE bottle of Arm and Hammer detergent (complained about a bottle leaking in my car and they sent me a coupon for one free A&H up to $19.99....wanted the pods but they did not have them and Family Dollar which had a big bag of 92 pods for $10 wouldn't accept my coupon....I had to brake suddenly....the cupcakes flipped over on floor and the A&H landed on top of them....I opened my door and opened the back door to fix this mess and the balloons flew out the window....I didn't notice till I was about 8 houses down.....went back and one balloon was stuck on the stop sign...of course I couldn't reach it but had my cane in the car and a pair of scissors so was able to retrieve....went back on put on the mailbox for grandson...what a day....

Peg- Wow. what a day for you. I'm glad you retrieved a balloon and any cupcakes too?

Cher- Diapers are very expensive. I was so happy when the kids grew out of them. I tried cloths but it was a mess. Even plastic pants over them didn't help.

We went to the condo and the furnace people told us that the ex-tenants pulled the wires from the furnace. Which is quite dangerous as it is a gas furnace... If a repair was made, they couldn't guarantee it would even work and suggested a new furnace. I had to pay $3800 out of pocket. NOT frugal today but there isn't any heat in the condo and I just need it to work. We need to get a new tenant in there soon.

We got home late and took a nap. I slept 3 hours..DH got cheese pizza & garlic knots for dinner. Kids liked it. I had a slice of cheese on a bagel this morning and eat very little cheese due to cholesterol issues.

not very frugal again - forgot about a rotisserie chicken I have been eating off, left it on the counter for 3.5 hours at least after I ate. I was thinking of making soup from it, but I think I will just toss it. I live alone and being sick is not something I want to risk.

Gotta add to my mental checklist before I leave the house - back door locked, stove off, no food left out.
