Managed to get to Kroger yesterday and get chicken thighs for 77 cents a pound. Got a doll dress finished for mr GD. Went to church and ate out at Red Lobster since it was our 41st anniversary. We both brought home lo for tonight. Got coupons clipped and going to start on another doll dress. Going to memorial service this afternoon for homeless lady. Big article on front page of paper about her. Both parents had been killed when she was young. She and her ex husband were about to go back together and take their daughter and her husband to Alaska to start over. Really very sad. If you have a smartphone, download fetch rewards app and put in my code ND9XC. Every time you go to the grocery or pharmacy, scan your receipts and earn points. Then cash in points for gift certificates. I’ve done it twice and already earned 1600 points. Doesn’t cost anything. I’m going to scan every receipt I get and see if it works on other kinds. I think the cheapest reward is 3000, but no deadline to use them.

dircpa Do you have a special recipe for your biscuits to freeze if so would you care to share it? Thanks in advance.

No, I did not use a special recipe. I think it would be worth while to look for one. I thought that the frozen biscuits did not rise as high as they normally would if not frozen first. But the convenience was nice.

Cut open my bottle of facial moisturizer to get the last bit. Did the same on the baby's tube of Desitin. I have a big list for my next Walmart shopping trip but I'm trying to put it off as long as possible. Just like last year I'm making a conscious effort to use up leftovers plus I plan on eating out of the freezer and pantry for at least two months this year.

threw out the leftover ham from xmas eve for the crows. was lots of extra ones today. looked and smelled good but nope. couple of slices. a squash is moldy so in compost. moms bday so don't know if she wants to go out. her line is busy. need to sign up kids for sat course. so couple hundred out for that. still working on the house and xmas decor. that never ends. going though the taped hallmark movies. most can go though in less then an hour. laundry to put on and defrosting a meatloaf. decided to quit a volunteer position at then end of june when year ends. will do something else. just been a long line of lies, cliques etc. so why I am bothering lots I can do somewhere else. part of my self care goal this year.

marthamfi, that is very nice of you to stick out your volunteer position until June. Volunteering should be fun and something you look forward to doing, I agree that a volunteer position somewhere else would be better for you. Good luck on your search.
Same old, same old here. Nothing newsworthy to report.

I cut up the last salvaged large pumpkin. Cooking most of it in the microwave. I can finish cooking it tomorrow. Glad that is done. I cut up some more fabric scraps for quilt blocks. Hubby is not home tonight so I just had some leftovers. It turned very cold and unpleasant. Maybe snow this weekend. There were snow flurries today but no accumulation. Brrrr.
