After work went to the dentist for a cleaning and then dropped up donations at the rescue for their annual garage sale. I wished I would have had time to walk a few of their dogs but had to get home and get to the vet. Beastie needed an annual vaccination, heartworm test, nails clipped and a fecal test. I swear the dog sucks the attention right out of a room. She attracts people like a magnet. A lot of pitties are friendly but Beastie is also a VERY happy dog. People can't get over how happy she is. I told DH, she has more friends than we do!

DH was working on finishing up cutting the lawn when I got home. I am getting very spoiled with him off work and taking care of it. I know soon it will end and I'll be yard boss again but I am enjoying this break.

josantoro, beautiful amaryllis! I had one a couple of years ago at Christmas time and now I wish I had kept it.

We went today to various nurseries to buy vegetable plants. Found most at the first one we went to but never did find collard. I don't know why it's so hard to find collard plants. Since I eat collard with breakfast most mornings I like to grow it in the summer months. Also picked up two Begonia hanging plants that I dump in the planters on the front porch, it seems to be the only plant that I can keep alive there. We came home and I was all ready to go out and weed flowerbeds and do some work in the garden, got about an hour in and it started to rain. It was 70 degrees out when I went out and now it's about 60. I was really hoping to be able to get some stuff done outside today.

I did get the wind chimes out on the back porch, so nice to hear them today. I think I have decided to skip doing the planters on the back porch this year. I really like them but I am trying to downsize a few things this year due to medical bills. I think this weekend I will empty them out and take them downstairs until next year. DH also got my clothesline up.

85 today. I just finished some yard work. Got more branches for DH to run through the chipper, and the big hanging branch from the maple tree is down and ready to be cut for firewood.

Going through the grocery ads. No cherries here yet, but blueberries, blackberries, green beans, avocados, grapes, and spinach all .99. Guess what we're eating next week.

Kibbe, cucumber salad, and summer squash for dinner.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

thanks rujerro ...it is just the same old thing and since I am not doing demos and standing has gotten better. you know we are all starting to fall apart as we get older. just had to redo tests I hadn't done for while. I just wanted to go on the pill to see if my periods would get better. my friend who is the same age did that. but I had a fibroid once so had to have another test. I just want to see a specialist for my spine so I know what is ahead of me. physio I know to do, my first step with so many things they seem to help more then anything else. why I started going to fitness classes again.

rabbit pitties have a bad rap but they are just love bugs. met a few who didn't realize they weren't lapdogs.

last moms group today so was the tea party. made a lemon dessert for it, did a stirfry for dinner and a couple batches of no bake oatmeal balls for the teens over and my kids later. I had defrosted soup the other day so that is dinner tomorrow. sorted the laundry. usual housework of course. will do some bookkeeping tomorrow too. at least the wind is coming up and blowing out all the heat in the house. lots of dvds to watch from library too. and books! love libraries. I hid some cheese and nuts snack boxes from the kids so have them for eating during work.

GB, thanks. Rebate was the word I was searching for, but didn’t know.

I’m cleaning my kitchen today. I don’t have plans for the Eurovision Song Contest semifinal tonight. I might go to a LGBT bar to watch it. Eurovision is very popular among gay men, so I think they know how to throw a party.

Free lunch at work tomorrow, they are making us all drive to the new HQ for training ALL DAY. It's a long drive and extra gas so not really happy.

Went with DH to his doctor appointment this morning and then dropped the recliner off at my moms. Ended up doing some weeding for her and she gave me some violets for my flowerbeds. Since we were down in the city we stopped at a resale store and found a sweatshirt for Devil Dog and some new light bulbs. This is the second time we have found new boxes of light bulbs at a resale store. DH is making breakfast for dinner tonight, this is a treat for us because we never eat a full breakfast like that. I am reading Meet the Frugalwoods and want to finish that tonight. DH saw some yellow finches in the yard so I guess it's time to put the sock feeders out.

Got my little tail-less chipmunk to eat out of my hand today. He loves walnuts. Found out my local grocery store sells individual stalks of celery (they are too small to have a salad bar). Bought 4 for tuna salad and my next soup.

Been a long week working 12-14 hour days. Tomorrow will be my only day off this weekend.

We will eat our first squash from the garden tomorrow and we have been eating squash blossoms for a couple of weeks.

Been taking my lunch to work, no eating out, no extra driving. Hubby almost has the chicken run completed to so we can let the chicks out when they get a little bigger.

Not much else is going on.

Did some running around this morning. Had to get gas, too. Stopped at grocery and found cherries on unadvertised sale for $2.99! Bought some bread to take to a potluck tomorrow, not much else we needed this week. Fridge is still full. Went to the community garden for their free cooking class on greens. Learned a few new recipes to use this summer.

Checked the garden seedlings. One cucumber is finally up. Saw a couple tiny tomato sprouts. One of the herbs, I forget which, is starting to sprout. Everything is just really slow this year. If stuff doesn't grow soon I'm going to miss the window.

DH and I did some yard work out front this evening. It's starting to shape up.

Dog club event is done - it was hot. There was a tent so we were in the shade but felt sorry for a lot of the dogs - they were definitely hot! No money spent except for gas. I worked on the windows & yard this morning Leftovers for supper.

Sunday - more yard work and washed more windows. Hubby will BBQ chicken. I made potato salad and a cake. Not sure I have enough powdered sugar for the frosting. May have to search for an alternative. Opened a jar of cherry preserves that were marked down - I think because they did not quite gel - sort of runny, but could be fine on the cake.

Grocery shopped this morning and then prepped food for dinner. Worked on flowerbeds a bit and then helped DH cut the back lawn. It goes much faster with two of us. Had a little scare this afternoon, I was looking out the window and remarked "it looks like tornado weather" and instantly our phones went off with an alert to take cover. Our dogs are not allowed downstairs so trying to get them to go down was challenging. We had to stay downstairs for about 40 minutes which I then realized that I need to have things to do down there if this happens again. DH saw a hummingbird tonight so I am making up some sugar water for them. I hung the finch sock up but so far haven't seen any today. DH has been cleared by his doctor to go back to work tomorrow so after him being home for 2 months, I am looking forward to checks coming in again!
