The entire kitchen floor is clean, except for a few corner spots. I was running out of steam and couldn't get down on the floor one more time. Two of the three area rugs are washed and hanging on the porch. They are good quality heavy (if small) rugs and had to be done by hand.
Had to move the table and chairs and discovered that the leg on one is broken. A piece of reinforcing wood that the screws go through had split, so it's all wobbly now. Put that one back in the corner where it won't get used. I could repair it with the right shop tools... but not right now.
Quilt show tomorrow. I'm looking forward to some "me" time.

Thanks Rujerro! can't believe how old he is now a baby when on the old forum. That is a lot of work CH. you deserve the break. hope all are feeling better.
here we only have one insurance company so yes screwed. but if you have good record you have accident forgiveness for one usually at least. we have lots of things that are only one in the province. at least we have more options for phones etc now. though the main co owes all the lines and is just renting them to the others.
raining and vegging. just getting ready for camp..will shop tomorrow for camp and place order for mils tea at bakery. puttering.. basic cleaning. packed up crochet items yarn etc for shipping. made french onion soup. ..found yesterday that veggies froze and defrosted in veggie bin so slimey so garbage. easy button tonight.. frozen fish and fries and frozen carrots. still eating bday cake. shopped again yesterday for sales prime rib was 6.97 a lb so got a couple small ones for special times. cheap here normally like $18 a lb.
cat peeing on ds stuff that falls off the bed at night last couple of days like pillow crocheted blanket today so all that getting washed and since teen boy can't say room doesn't stink up fast if stuff isn't washed every week. of course since I gave in and got pee pads and put them in the places she normally pees of course she won't do it.

The last time a car claim was filed in our house was when hail storms attacked and dented the cars. Unfortunately with our insurers, a claim is a claim. It didn't matter if it was a collision or act of Mother Nature. Insurance went up $200.
Contrary- Hope that furnace is a easy fix! Ours went out in the dead of winter and DH didn't want to pay the overtime cost for a repairman. The cold temps in the house cracked a window pane and we waited nearly a week before someone could come out.
Gonna get DS2's hair cut today and bloodwork done. I was exhausted yesterday and slept about 13 hours before getting up to go to work. No idea why that happened. Maybe bloodwork will reveal something.

Worked from home, nice and quiet. I can probably do another hour or 2 after supper. $$$
Threw chicken in the microwave for chicken salad to take to dad's Saturday. I'll make some macaroni to add also. Low on milk & bananas for hubby, he was in the store Thursday, I don't know why he doesn't get stuff when he is there. Too many brain cells required I guess.

Another exhausting day. Not sure what's going on. I sleep a long time and then my back is so stiff and won't bend.
DH and I were in the yard. He had to paint the inside of the fence and I put tarps on the ground and held up a tarp while he sprayed. The wood fence is so dry that a gallon was gone in no time and we only got 24 slats painted. Then, I started pulling weeds and thatch around the trees and fence. The walnut tree is loaded and DH got on a ladder to shake some loose. We collected 250 of them. I'll peel them and dry them. I hope to sell them but not sure for how much. They're black walnuts.
DS2 was upset while doing homework as he spent hours working on it but didn't understand how to get the correct answers. There's a website that helps decipher the problem and show everything step-by-step. Not sure why he didn't want to use the website, but it could be that it costs $ and he hates to ask for money for stuff. Anyways, he got signed up for it and was able to do problems without pulling his hair out. I told DH that we have never told DS2 that we wouldn't pay for books or websites, so why would he frustrate himself like that and feel like he's gonna fail when all he had to do was ask us to sign him up? UGH. We need to work smarter, not harder!

3 loads of laundry to do today. Much from mom & dad's house. Some will go out for donation Tuesday. I kept 2 large Rubbermaid containers (donating the stuff inside). Raisin bread is in the bread machine for breakfasts. I watered some bushes in the yard at 8 am and got bitten by mosquitoes anyway.
Need to work at home for a while but I don't really want to. So many other things need doing.
Really annoyed by my mother for buying so much "stuff" and now my job to get rid of it. For example lace covered throw pillows still in bag with tags, the receipt said purchased in 1992. What if she had just kept that $16 in her bank account instead? Ugh.

Please don't be upset dlrcpa…...maybe it brought her joy.....maybe she had a purpose for those pillows and it just never materialize....I'm slowly getting rid of stuff cause I know my kids will be upset with me too....I'm giving stuff away right and left...some I never used and finally realizing I'll never have time to use it all.....time is getting away from me....
Today it rained some more.....we don't need it.....thankfully we were not affected by the flooding all over the city.
Picked up a small 18" bike I won in an auction....brand new for $14. Will give to great grandson for Christmas. Doesn't have a kickstand so may have to get one. He's 7 and small so I hope this works for him....it looks small to me....will see what my grandson says. If not, will sell it or give it to a needy kid at Christmas.
Middle grandson coming over in an hour to have dinner with us. Husband just ran out to pick up subs. I have been fighting an infection for the past week and not up to cooking or doing much of anything.....
Trying to get ready to go on vacation in three weeks. Not making much progress.....I do one thing and have to rest....not getting much done.....

Dad received a privacy notice about a Sears credit card. I did not realize he still had one, so I just called and canceled it. One less thing to worry about. Hot today but supposed to cool off again. Neighbor has several dead oak trees due to some sort of insect problem. Hubby has tagged some trees in our yard for our tree service to look at. Better to treat now than have them die. Need to get to CVS w/in a few days, have a prescription ready and use up the ExtraBucks on groceries or household stuff. Donation pickup tomorrow, 2 bags and several boxes going out. :vs_box:

DH likes to not pay bills until the last possible moment. So, he got a final notice about a medical bill that will go to collections. He will pay it now, but I was never one to wait like that. I pay mine ASAP. Why put stress on yourself and get a bad credit rating over $60? I'll never understand it.
DS2 wants stuffed cabbage for dinner. I asked DH to pick up some things at the market. If he doesn't, then we'll have noodles in a meat sauce with HM focaccia.
Taking some staycation time this week. Will finish hulling the walnuts and drying them. Put stuff on ebay. Make dinner. Possibly wash the car. And wash the garage floor. I'll have DS2 fill out more scholarships. I'm sure he'll love me for it. LOL

Have to drive into the city for a Dr appt, will treat myself to lunch after. Pulled out chicken and bones for stock. Plan to have that simmering this afternoon, and then will use it in a large batch of chicken pot pie filling. Some for dinner, some for the freezer.
Digging around for bones I found a container of grilled chicken, and something that is either pulled pork, or pot roast. It's in gravy/juice, hard to tell and it has no smell, being frozen. Whatever, two items to add to menu planning.

I've been up very early as I had to take DS2 to the bus stop. I got home and started stuffed cabbage. I may have added too much rice. I'm reading a few things online and then will rest before getting up to go to the gym. Then I'll clean more walnuts and finally, vacuum, wash laundry and put DS2's books on ebay.
I've lost a ton of hair. When my sis saw me last month, she commented. Maybe between my thyroid and parathyroid issues, it fell out. I hope it grows back. Doc said it should grow back 6-9 months after the surgery. Well, it's been a month so far. Eight more to go...… He thinks my kidneys will come back to full function. I hope so.
I'll be able to see my labwork tomorrow. Good. Doc is supposed to call me to come in and go over the results but if I can see them online, I'll decide if I want to come in again or not. I've seen him about 10 times in 6 months.
Better get back to bed. I have less than 3 hours of sleep and a lot to do today!

Ruj, sorry about your hair. Maybe pretty scarves and earrings? I had a nice knitted hat pattern I used years ago during chemo, soft and just tied a patterned scarf around the crown to match my outfit. I was glad it was winter because too hot for summer!
Beautiful weather today, took dog and sat around outside. Wish I had more free time instead of work. We ate leftovers for supper and I made cocoa tapioca. Still need to stop at CVS to use my coupons. Hubby picked up the prescription for me since he had one ready also.
09-26-2019, 04:05 AM
My labs came back. Not too bad. My kidneys came back to function. One test wasn't done but it was ordered. I have to see if they charged me for it or not. I hope not.
I have lots of black walnuts as the tree is full. I have hulled a lot and left hulls on others. I put some on ebay as people are buying them. See what happens. We may be able to get a agricultural designation if we sell them. I'll apply for it after a sale.
I'll be on vacay this week. I'll do more painting of the fence, cleaning the yard, hulling walnuts, cleaning house and volunteer work. Not really relaxing, but oh well. It has to get done.
09-26-2019, 11:18 AM
Ru, that is great news about your kidney! I hope the black walnuts sell well. I know some people really like those. Not a fan myself. Schedule in some relaxing time along with your other chores.
I have to go poke cvs about a prescription, too. It is on autofill but for some reason they never do this one. And because it is a controlled drug they never let me go get it early, I have to wait until I am out of pills. So annoying.

I’m finally back. Finished the two weekend run of the show and broke all records for ticket sales of an opening show. Been trying to catch up and rest too. Errands today and then DH and I are going to Doobie Brothers concert tonight. Not much else going on. It is hot and I’m done with my garden for the season. I’m ready for fall weather, which we may not see until December.
