I have heard it is 2-6 months after getting the first shot. The shots are identical. Once you have the first one, you are priority for getting the second one in the recommended time frame.

We went from 90s to 70s in a matter of minutes. That’s Texas weather. Another cool front coming in tomorrow night. Cleaned my big flower bed and hope it will be the last as weather gets cooler. Doing laundry and going to decorate for fall when DH gets home. Thawed a pork loin. Going to cut chops for dinner and put the rest in the crockpot for pulled pork tomorrow night.

It's been a pretty good week. I've stayed home every day. Except last night, we to dgd home and got her something to eat on the way home. Then stopped at walmart market to pick up a few things. Of course can't get out for under $50. It's cheaper to buy the ensure by the case, since I'm drinking more over the next day or two (mouth sores) I had to get some. Picked up a few other things so I don't have to get out again. Got dgd some grapes. She loves them and they ran out. Who knows when they'll get her some grapes. She was so cute carrying her little bag of grapes in. We haven't eaten out since last Friday, which was our planned annual dinner with dh's cousin. I didn't buy much at the store either. I seem to shop and then we end up eating out too much and there sits all this food. We're using up what we have and we haven't eaten out. Started piecing dgd's quilt. Hopefully I'll get it done for this Christmas. It was supposed to be last Christmas, but we got busy working on inlaws house. Now I need to clear some space in the room so I can start sewing. That room has become the dumping room. Whenever we clean one room, all the stuff goes in that one. We just have too much stuff. We are throwing things out as we go through it.

Gumbo for supper - it made a LOT. Maybe freeze some. I froze chicken-corn soup a few weeks ago. It will be nice to pull out later. I think I'll mix cookie dough so I can bake it Friday or Saturday. May bake at dad's house and store in that freezer for
a while since mine is very full (fridge freezer only.) I'm planning to try pumpkin-spinach lasagne Friday night.

Made the two chicken dinners for DH, he had some for dinner and I packed up and froze the rest. Did a lot of little chores around the house that needed to be done. Some mending, ironing, put the patio furniture cushions away in storage bags and took downstairs, a load of wash, load of dog blankets and filled in some holes in the backyard that little Devil Dog eats. He doesn't dig holes, he eats holes. Picked more cherry tomatoes from the garden, pretty soon it's supposed to get colder and we won't have them anymore. Beautiful day so I took the dogs to the park for a hike in the woods, afterwards took them to the vet to weigh them. They are both on a diet so I wanted to see the progress. Little one lost a lb. and the big one gained two lbs.! How does that happen? Need to work on my library book tonight.

Rabbit- I agree, how does that happen with the dogs? Hmmm.
Jett- The quilt sounds beautiful. I'd love to see a pic!

The weather was gorgeous today. We ran errands and got water from Costco. They didn't have any a few days ago....

I tried to get oil stains out of the garage floor. I attempted CLR. Nope. I mixed dishwashing detergent and hot water. Meh. I noticed that the garage floor is getting pock marked from the dissolving agents in the magnesium chloride when it snows. They use that liquid on the roads and it gets on my tires and when I pull into the garage, it eats the concrete floor! I showed it to DH and said that next summer, we have to get the floor epoxy to save it! Between the cooking oils and mag chloride, it needs to get a hard shell on it. I don't want to re-pour a garage floor.

Speaking of snow.....It was the warm before the storm. We're expecting temps in the teens and snow today. So, I have stew in the crockpot. I have carrots/onion/garlic powder/beef stock/V8 juice/stew meat/spices and will add barley in 10 hours. I used to put potatoes in it but the family prefers barley now.

One grocery store has beef (ground, roast, stew) on sale this week, another has whole or chicken parts for 99 cents/lb. It sounds like another big shopping/cooking weekend. Weather is supposed to be nice next several days, I should do some yard work. Sorry some are getting snow! We have barely started fall weather here.

Winter is coming. Today is supposed to be reasonably nice, but rain and cold moving in tonight, getting colder, possibly a freeze on Saturday morning. Yesterday I picked a big bowl of tomatoes and was planning to dry them, only to find our dehydrator is dead. It was a cheap one with electronic parts sealed in a plastic block so it can't be fixed. Will see if Aldi has any. Meanwhile trying the oven again with more patience. I tried to dry some last week and they all burned.

Making green beans with kielbasa and potatoes all in one pot for dinner. Comfort food for a cold and wet night.

Time to make the basil pesto. If it freezes the plants won't survive. I have all the ingredients, so no big expense there. Also time to get the lap quilts out of storage. We will want them this weekend for tv watching.

Josantoro, I had the original shingle shot, but not taking the new one. Heard the second in the series hurts and makes you run fever and feel like the flu. Going to take my chances.

We have rain and suppose to be in the upper 30s in the morning. Very refreshing since we have been in the 90s and very humid.

I cannot seem to wear the right weight clothing to be comfortable. Right now shorts & T-shirt and a bit chilly. Earlier today heavy cotton sweater and too hot. Made 2 kinds of cookie dough and plan to bake tomorrow at dad's house.

It is going to drop to freezing tonight. I am already wearing 2 pair of socks and 2 layered shirts. The house is going to cool off tonight, too. Good for sleeping, but we will have to decide at what point the heat will be turned on. I got the couch quilts out earlier this week.

Cookie dough sounds nice. Could just bake a few at a time. I am going to make DH finish the ice cream in the freezer first, though.

Planning a stay-at-home long weekend. Going to be too cold and windy to go out to the festival. I can't risk getting sick. Already picked up milk, vegs, and cat food for the week. Sunday we have a potluck dinner with friends, I made pesto from the garden and bought a loaf of bread to share. Should be a nice evening.

Our heat has been on due to temps in the teens....We're supposed to have weather in the 60's but who knows. The snow is still on the ground!

I will make chicken lasagna today. DH smoked chicken but I dunno if I'll have enough. So I threw a whole chicken in the crockpot. The whole chickens were marked down to 50 cents a pound! I'll try to make lasagna in the crockpot as well. I found great recipes on fresh family meals dot com. I'll try chicken parm in the crock one time.

I put items for sale on ebay and craigslist and items for barter on craigslist. One lady had items for barter. She's an artist and likes to sculpt, carve and do leather things. She didn't say what she wanted for barter so I offered lots of things ( a lot are new) if she could make a pillow or leather doll. She said she couldn't and wanted to sell her stuff...….Bummer.

I have the same problem. Somewhere I picked up a scrub jacket, like a nurse would wear. Cotton, long sleeve, snaps in front. Perfect for when a sweater would be too hot. I also have a bunch of Pashmina type shawls that are perfect for when I get chilly sitting in the LR at night.

Well, we went from summer to winter in one day. I love it though and will be good for our electric bill. Don’t know what today will bring. Going to the casino later to get a free Ronco grill. They have been giving copper cookware away every Thursday. Getting my Christmas shopping done.
