rujerro - your horse story brought up a memory of mine. I have always been a bit leery of horses after seeing my sister, as a young child, bit by one. A friend and I were going to a Farm Sanctuary open house where they were celebrating a new horse barn. We were all standing in the new barn where they had apples hanging from the ceiling and after someone gave a speech they opened the barn doors and a bunch of HUGE draft horses came running in. I was petrified that I was going to be trampled to death!

dlrcpa, what a fun thing to be part of. I would have loved to see the Sheltie jumping over ducks! Ha,ha.

    Same old, same old here.

Not much happening today. Donation (parents' stuff) picked up. Eating leftovers. Copied a bacon-split pea soup recipe to try tomorrow. Have some coupons that may be worth using. Have a $35 gift card at the organic grocery, probably use for Thanksgiving. I feel fortunate the weather has not turned really cold yet, just chilly.

Still misty here. Going to hit Kroger today and go to the post office. Not sure what I’m cooking for dinner. Need to hit the dollar store to get things for a charity event tomorrow.

I did a load of darks this morning and discovered that I had left a Kleenex in a pocket, what a mess. I shook out all the clothes before putting them in the dryer and my laundry room looked like it had snowed in there. Washed kitchen, laundry room and both bathroom floors. About 2 years ago I had made a spring cleaning list, now I don't spring clean because there is too much outside work to do then but I had divided the 9 rooms in our house up so that one would get deep cleaned every month, with summers off. Never did it but found the list today and decided to give it a try. November is clean the office, so today I started with cleaning the fan, light fixture and washed the floor molding. I think this will work for me because I have a whole month to do one room. We'll see.......... I have a bunch of eggs to eat up so for dinner it will be a spinach, mushroom and mozzarella frittata.

Today the sun is shining and it's beautiful....but, they say a cold front is coming in.....we have been back from vacation for a week...I did get all unpacked and suitcases back in attic but my clothes are on the guest room bed. I am waiting patiently for Operation Christmas Child drop off week which is week before Thanksgiving. I have my 38 shoeboxes packed and they, along with six or seven boxes of fillers are sitting in the corner of the living room. I want them gone.
Both kids will be working Thanksgiving and grandkids are all going to their girlfriend's home so we decided we would go to casino for the day. Not sure how I feel about this but things change and sometimes there is nothing you can do about it. Will save me lots less stress....
I have vertigo so not doing too much. I think I'm better and BOOM just the slightest motion of my head and it hits me again. This needs to go away...
Don't know what we will have for dinner....I don't cook much anymore. Getting very lazy.

Kohl's sent another $5 off $5 coupon so I will think of something useful to get. Everyone at work is coughing like they have colds. Jeez - stay home! Taking vacation Friday so just 1 more day of work to get through. I hope to work on the yard and leaves this weekend. Invited sis-in-law and her husband for Thanksgiving, waiting to hear if they will accept, not really much extra work.

Temps dropped within minutes as a front moves in. Freezing rain and fog .

Made gravy for leftovers today. DS2 is quite hungry when he gets home, so maybe he'll have turkey or oven chicken.

DH wanted to rake leaves but it's too cold. Tomorrow, I'll take DS2 to Target before driving him to the train to get to school. If the weather is uncooperative, I'll have to get him to Target on Friday.

Oops, hubby also invited sis-in-law's step-daughter and 2 kids. So that would 7 people - with 2 picky kids and one person requiring gluten-free. Now I have a headache.....

Dlrcpa- Just when you thought that Thanksgiving was gonna be easy peasy….

High of 48 today. The heating blanket is doing good so far. Usually, I burn them out and DH has to get me a new one.

I think I'll make pasta for dinner today with turkey thrown in. Maybe some baguettes too. We have to meet people today and I'll need something easy and fast before I get to work. DS2 said he wants that for dinner so there we go. Thawing out chicken for enchiladas and breaded chicken this week.

I put ornaments up on ebay. I've collected through the years but the kids have no interest in them. So, off to new homes they go.

snow supposedly coming today, just made an appt. to get my snow tires on next Tuesday. I should be able to get through this event, usually the ground is warm enough to melt it at this time of year and I don't have to go out til 11AM Friday. I'm lucky that I have a mechanic who is semi-retired, someone told me there were 30 cars lined up yesterday morning at the local big tire store. I'll get my oil changed and a new air filter at the same time. He is very reasonably priced, we used to be neighbors.

It’s raining and suppose to get cold again. My sewing room will be finished today. I am going to the casino this afternoon for my free serving dish and then to a local restaurant for free margaritas and fajitas with a donation of food for a local charity.

guess depends how much I like someone is how much I will deal w food issues. real allergies yes of course. picky kids well been there still have some. my dd just decided at almost 17 she likes scalloped potatoes because she made them at school. did she eat them all these years her nana made them..nope would even try. I wasn't going though the work if I was the only one eating them. at least all you have to do is cook the stuffing in a separate dish from the turkey. plenty of sides and turkey to eat..picky kids will find something. my dh lived off buns and corn and small slice of turkey each year because he is picky. my brothers girlfriend decided she is gluten free and vegan..no allergies..my mom cooked it once and said no way again. not into cooking much and is a good cook..even the raccoons and crows wouldn't eat the leftovers. she is into trendy..like they are engaged for years but she doesn't want to get married or live together... so nice enough but seriously.

ds was out at friends last night without letting me know before so had stirfry plans of things his sister doesn't eat but she isn't home for dinner on wed so why I planned it. so since I went though the downstairs freezer and made meal plans pork chops w stirfry veggies because the bok choy needs using up. tomorrow will use crockpot to make a huge batch of taco meat. carrot soup and leek and potato in the works too. have winter csa to use up. the stirfry pork was freezer burned so cooked for crows and old bacon cooked..so yummy. hidden for soup.

working today..delivery was over a week late so got 2 but not all will be done in one day. so no delivery next week. takes a couple of weeks for orders. been decluttering , cat got his stitches out..dh took him so he can be the bad guy. got free shipping so hit michaels for halloween clearance and sending stuff to cousin. need to get more coffee and basics too. because ds went though the milk but will see since I just got a gallon wed. not a need since he went though it in 16hrs.

Black ice on the roads this morning so many spinouts and accidents, it took me forever to get to work. On top of it, Dh forgot his wallet so I had to stop at his work and drop that off. LO soup for dinner tonight. Probably work on my puzzle for a bit and have to finish a library book.
