Working from home tomorrow, nice and quiet. I got a lot done in the office over last several days so don't feel bad about being home. replacements.com emailed me the silver dishes were acceptable and check is in the mail, that's good.

I have 1 lb candied fruit in the freezer, maybe should thaw that and make fruitcake, usually make around Thanksgiving. Or fruitcake cookies. I am one of those people that actually like fruitcake.

I defrosted the freezer yesterday....unfortunately I had to throw away quite a bit....things seem to get lost. I just shut my eyes and threw things out and tried not to think about the $$$$…..I'm going to be better in 2020.....

My daughter came over yesterday and she took everything I had picked out for her plus more....
Tomorrow I will go and stage my friends house....she is really excited..

Had doctor's appointment this morning....doctor gave me a script for my vertigo. Was really cheap....$1.10....
Grammarbug I also have severe arthritis . I've been on lots of meds and Humira is working for me...been on it for almost ten years......very expensive but it has kept me out of the wheel chair and walking.....The cold is hard on the joints....

Got frozen veggies at Target for .89 cents a package....doing a luncheon in Dec. for the homeless and I have signed up
for the veggie...will be taking corn and a salad.

Work at home today, I can get laundry done. Defrosting chicken for supper, probably make the Jiffy spoon-bread recipe to go with it and some bar choc chip cookies to take to dad's Saturday.

It’s raining here today and getting colder. I’m going to the casino later to pick up my last porcelain serving dish. I have 4 that I got in November. My closet is full of Christmas gifts. Not doing anything else today. Probably make soup when I get home.

OK, well, it's my day off and I decided to see what exactly was going on in the men's bathroom as far as cleaning. I almost died. I won't go into details about its state of affairs. As of this moment, I spent 2 hours cleaning/grouting the shower tiles, hanging a shower liner, scrubbing the drywall and cleaning out the cabinet under the sink. At 11 pm tonight, I plan on scrubbing the excess grout from the tiles, sealing the tiles and possibly cleaning the floor and corners. Tomorrow, the counter and medicine cabinet will get scrubbed and a sink stopper will be purchased. I told DH that he will need to clean the entire toilet (outside and inside) as I refuse to touch it. I also plan on gluing a cabinet door tonight, that has been broken for 3 years and removed from the kitchen and I will also dust/clean the fake plant in the bathroom and clean up the shelf it sits on. I'll even throw in blankets in the washer and that will end my night!

I got DS1 the body wash for his stocking today as I got the GC today. I even got him a set w/cologne & wash since the company's website wanted quadruple the price versus ebay.

I've been looking for a new doctor since mine has retired and not contacted me regarding my issue. I'll assume he is done with further contact with his patients. I don't know who I'll go to right now and there are some concierge doctors in my area. Their fees range from $1650- $1800 a year. Some want to meet with the patient before taking them on. My guess is that with insurance requiring doctors to get their patients to fulfill certain requirements ( women must have mammograms, diabetics must meet certain requirements, etc) and if patients do not meet them, the docs get a financial penalty from the insurance company. Or, the doc can drop the patient! My sister just had that happen to her this week! She is as upset as I am and looking for a new doc as well. Personally, I can buy everything over the counter and go to a lab and pay for any bloodwork I want without a prescription now. However, my only prescription that I need from a doc is thyroid meds. There aren't any natural substances that I can buy that can replace my thyroid meds. I tried but no luck! My TSH went high and they didn't work at all.

Kroger had pies on sale so DH got some and baked one tonight.

Sounds like everyone is busy. I’m doing laundry and sewing today. Marking white chili for dinner. I’m dealing with an old sick dog. He wasn’t eating well and I started mixing a little wet food with dry and he would eat. I noticed this week that he was looking fat and wasn’t pooping much. Then he stopped eating much. He was getting up last night and fell over. It wasn’t a seizure, but I thought maybe a heart attack. I immediately got something and put under him in case he lost control of his bowels only to find a few pieces of poop. He got ok and I decided to relieve his anal glands. I did and then was able to get more poop out of him, but then he fell again. He did the same thing and got ok. I took him out this morning and I mixed pumpkin with a cooked egg. I hope this helps. I may try later to get him out for a walk around the yard and then try to see if we can make him poop. Sorry for the long story, but I know you guys have fur babies. Any suggestions will help.

GB, the only suggestions I have are to make sure he gets water, and take him for walks when he can manage it. Let him eat if he will. Just like with people, water, wet food and activity help move things along. Water may also help his balance, if he has vertigo from dry indoor air. Lots of love.
Stop trying to organize all of your family’s crap. If organization worked for you, you’d have rocked it by now. It’s time to ditch stuff and de-crapify your world.

If you're not using the stuff in your home, get rid of it. You're not going to start using it more by shoving it into a closet.

Thank you, CH. I walked him this morning and cooked an egg with a bit of pumpkin and he gobbled it up. He doesn’t seem in pain and I have him outside in the yard now. I did get more poop from him, so maybe it will get better.

Sorry GB I hope you and the dog feel better.
This morning I cleaned & wiped out the fridge, and made space and cleaned the front coat closet. It rained last night but I hope to get leaves raked and bagged today. I polished silver including a small silver vase (about 8" tall). I will make some sort of arrangement using that. Hubby braved the grocery store, glad it was not me. Dishwasher is running and I will do 1 load of laundry including the cleaning towels used.

GB- Not sure about animals having slow intestines. I know people do and in my case, the torso does expand due to the issue. If things don't improve, maybe take him to the vet. It's very uncomfortable. A malfunctioning thyroid can cause it as well as diabetes in people.

I will get to the hardware store to get a sink drain kit so DH can install it in the bathroom. I had no idea it was missing and DS1 said it's been gone for years. DH doesn't want to install it but if the appraiser sees that, it won't look good.

I'll do further cleaning today. I made beef soup in the crock last night and had some this morning. I think DH is smoking chickens today as well.

GB, I have good luck with using canned pumpkin and walks but that is only if they are constipated. If he doesn't get better, a vet visit may be in order. Poor little guy.

I can't believe how fast the past few days have gone by. Yesterday we got up and I cleaned the house while dh cleaned the fridge for me. He also got the last lawn tractor winter ready and then we went into town to get tires on the car. Had to kill 2.5 hours so luckily there is a strip mall with a Target, Staples and Harbor Freight, among other stores so walked around in them. Dh and I are not shoppers so we always get sticker shock when browsing around! I forgot to eat before we left so we walked over to Burger King for a bite to eat. Not frugal. Took the foster dog to the park yesterday morning (no one around) for the first time and she did great. Today I took her and Beastie to another park and there was some other people there with their dog and she flipped out. I had a heck of a time getting her back to the car. I don't know how she is going to get adopted with her fear of people. Finished a puzzle last night and flipped over pieces for a new one this morning and dh got the border done. This is going to be a hard one and all the pieces are the same shape. I have never seen a puzzle like that. Was excited to see that the author of one of my favorite books The Night Circus, has a new book out. Requested that at the library. Having leftover chili and cornbread for dinner.

Having a really beautiful fall day. Normally DH and I would put the christmas lights up, as the chances of another 60F sunny day between now and Dec are pretty slim, but neither of us are feeling up to it. We did go out and do a little light yard clean up. DH cut some more of the old redbud. All that's left now is the trunk. Had him stack the green wood under the deck so it can dry for next summer. I raked a little and picked up dry sticks I can use in the smoker.

Still feeling achy, knees and elbows are pretty bad, but walking and moving around for a while was good and I loosened up a bit.

    GB, does gentle stretching help?

Yes, animals get constipated. One of our cats did once. She was obviously not feeling well, but we could not figure out why, and after a day or so just when we were getting ready to take her to the vet she made a strange noise, went running across the room, and left behind the biggest cat turd either of us had ever seen. It was pretty funny, aside from being worried about her all day.

Finished last night's casserole for lunch, put a serving in a container for DH tomorrow or Tues. He still has to work 2 days this week.

Going to fire up the smoker and cook some kielbasa, and fry some potatoes for dinner. And maybe cook a vegetable, too. I forget what I have in the fridge.

Thinking about going out tomorrow, since it will be dry and sunny. Have a few small errands, nothing urgent. My favorite bagel place will be closed, but traffic in the shopping areas won't be as bad as the rest of the week. I can try shopping for DH while he is at work.

DH got passes from work for 4 people to see A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, so we are going to take friends tomorrow evening. That should be nice, and not mobbed by the holiday crowds yet.

Been a bust weekend. The water heater stopped heating and I found out the hard way by trying to take a shower.
