Thumbs up Frugal challenge - May 30 - June 5th

Were starting another week of our frugal challenge. I love this challenge, it really keeps me on track and I get some wonderful ideas here.

    Today I'm:

    ~no $$ spent
~saving rain water for flushing toilet. There is certainly no shortage of rain water.
    ~eating from the pantry
    ~blinds are opened
~looking at more ways to be frugal
~putting a few $$ from the paper route into the emergency fund

    Good morning!

Going to a BBQ at a friends's house tonight. Told we did not have to bring anything. FREE DINNER!!!

No plans to spend $$ today. Just staying home. May go to the pool later if it is warm enough.

School is out for summer, so I need to find new ways to be frugal!

    ~No money spent today
~No lights on, using natural light
~All electricity off unless in use by someone
~eating leftover's from BBQ yesterday..nothing will go to waste
~Getting rebates together to mail Tuesday
~Have central air set on 78 degrees (It is hot and muggy here. You have to have to survive!)

DH is home, so who knows. Yesterday he decided he wanted chips and dip, so he gave me $10 to go get us all chips and dip. Ugh.

Eating dinner at home, refried rice with cubed pork steak(shh dont dh) and bulk frozen oriental veggies from Walmart. Probably beans and franks for the kids.
Unfort the AC is on. Just gets sooo hot and stuffy in here. We need some screen doors. Too bad, soon it will be in the 80's-90's at night and even hotter in the day time

I did spend a couple $$ this morning. I had to mail out some pkgs. and I also purchased some canned salmon on sale.

    Otherwise:

~blinds are opened for some light. Its still raining here, so its dull outside.
    ~eating from pantry
~Co-op is having the large inventory sale this week. I'm going into Brandon on Wed. for double coupon days and sale days. Should save a bit there. I have to go into Brandon to deposit some money in the bank, so will wait until Wed. for that.
    ~eating from free food still
~baking bread today, rather than buying any
~baked muffins this morning rather than buying pastry at the store
    ~purchased a clotherack for $5.00.
~was given a bunch of winter clothes for Michael last night again from the thrift store.

    Happy Memorial Day!!!!
Today the boys are all doing various lawn jobs and making some money for our trip to Montana later this week. Here are the frugal doings for today around our home:
~Washing laundry in cold water with homemade laundry detergent and hanging to dry (except for whites in hot with All Free detergent due to my allergies).
~Jaysn cleaned out the refrigerator and washed it down for me. Found all kinds fo things that had to be tossed and a few things that I will need to use soon.
~Planned meals for the day and got things out to thaw using up above said items that needed used up soon.
~Making 4 loaves of WW Bread today.
~Curtains open to let in the light. Heat turned down.
    ~Short showers.
~Trimmed my bangs today and no longer feel like a sheepdog!
    ~Reheated coffee in the microwave.
~Watching the weather and praying it does not rain on my laundry!
~Will watch a video tonight from our collection for entertainment.
