DD#2's 20th birthday on the cheap!

    ~ homemade ice-cream cake
    ~ homemade spaghetti sauce
~ pasta on sale this past week
~ bought French bread (I have a headache and didn't feel like making it too) to make my own garlic bread.
~ sparklers from the Dollar Drama
~ birthday card ended up from Safeway, but it was a cute cheap one...$3.
~ birthday present bought on sale before Christmas (30% off).
~ reusing gift bag and tissue paper for wrapping.
~ DD#2 requested no alcohol, so there won't be any. We'll use homemade crabapple juice and blueberry juice instead...and water.
~ DD#2 has invited some friends over, so we'll let them play games, etc. while we older folk hide out upstairs. Gotta love big bedrooms in rambling old 2 storey houses.

Today I food shopped and used coupons etc. Did not buy some things on the list so I could come in under $400 on Jan. food budget.

Made bagels!!!! First time for me.
Worked at home for 2 hours (pd. by hour)
    Most lights off today.

I've been really bad about posting my frugailities. Today I:
~did 2 loads of laundry in cold water, 1/2 the detergent & diluted softener
    ~hung both loads
~did 1 load of whites in warm wash/cold rinse & did put in dryer
~made banana muffins before the bananas got too gross
~no heat on (we're still just using the woodstove! woo hoo)
~no lights on during the day
~no tv on most of the day
    ~computers shut down at night
    ~all meals from freezer/pantry/fridge
~washed a couple of ziploc bags
~packed dh breakfast, lunch & beverages to take to work
    ~didn't go anywhere today
    ~no money spent
~hopefully will clip all the coupons I've been avoiding later this evening and get them filed & ready to use.
~made egg salad for tomorrow's lunch
    ~drank water when done w/coffee
    ~used cloth napkins
~refilled my water bottles & put in fridge
~sprayed shower w/HM daily shower spray
    ~reused coffee grounds

    Goals this week-
*hang laundry to dry on rack
*bring lunch to work each day (did it all last week which is good for me)
*have happy hour plans Fri night with the girls as it is payday , but there is usually a big spread of free food, so that will be dinner, just spend $10 for one drink and tip
*spend $50 for groceries and stick to list
