Since I have been doing these frugal challenges I have been able to put extra money on the car. Wow........
So here I go again.........lol
Drinking more water and less pop
Doing wash once a week
Do all errands in one trip
Watching sale ads, using coupons and adding to groceries from loss leaders. (this has been a really big help)
Using up leftovers
No eating out
No buying books....go to library
work on next years xmas gifts
ok here is the really big one
cleaning out closets, know what I have and use it to my advantage
This is going to be a happy frugal week 'cause I have been liking the way the budget has been looking. lol

Had a grocery trip today, but stuck to the list, and got several things free after coupons. Other than that:
*heat on 60 for the week
*all laundry in cold - hang at least half to dry
*made tea and juice (from frozen concentrate) for the week instead of buying soda
*made muffins and pancakes for breakfast during the week
*clipped coupons
*planned out tentatively the dinner menu for the week (DH works variable hours, and when he isn't home I don't cook full meals - we use up leftovers or have sandwhiches)
For the rest of the week, I plan to stay home. The kids are at home (homeschool) and have no activities this week, and hopefully staying home will save some extra money.

Sunday, Feb. 24th...
*Got a free sample of cat food
*My parents gave us free babysitting while we went out with friends for lunch (not frugal)
*Used a lot of different free online calculators to determine how we feel about the house we saw for sale this weekend would fit in with our budget
*Sold two things on eBay (yeah!)
*Wearing the same jeans as yesterday, saving laundry
*Dinner was leftovers

Only made 1 trip to town and completed all errands.
Used library instead of bookshop
Made all my personal phonecalls from work.
Had lunch with my eldest son at my workplace, made us toasted sandwiches with leftovers in the work fridge.
Borrowed frugal lifestyle mags from the library, then photocopied articles of interest on works photocopier.
Made homemade easter eggs and hot cross buns for Easter.
Each morning before work either walk or ride horse around property instead of using the gym.
Each night in front of tele either knit or make gifts for upcoming birthdays etc.
Once a week good all my weekly meals, freeze them in single serving containers then take them to work.
Love my cappuccinos, work has a cappuccino machine, guess where I always have my daily cappuccino.
Thank god for my workplace.

Sunday 2/24
Went shopping at the craft store specifically looking for some denim fabric and/or a donut pan but couldn't find either so walked out without spending a single, solitary penny.
I printed off a coupon for $3 off 3 boxes of Raisin Bran and Pathmark had it on sale for $1.88/box this week so I got them for .88 a box.
Planned to buy big cans of diced tomatoes (WOOHOO I've been waiting for a good sale on these!!!!!) for 10/$10 but DH found them on sale cheaper at .89/can
DH wanted to go out to lunch againAND buy a bunch of food for watching the Oscars. I told him to choose one or the other so we went out to lunch and had the leftovers during the Oscars.
Kept heat at 60*.

Here I go again....
Yesterday made h/m breadmaker mix and crunch topping mix for h/m muffins (cuts down on time and money, especially with bread so expensive here)
Deep cleaned my large walk in pantry
Ate l/over chicken dinner and made a yummy applecrisp from on hand supplies
Took back some things to walmart (hate the line at customer service...oh well)
Compared prices of flour from Walmart to Ron's grocery store....Ron's is CHEAPER...ya hooo cuz I like them better
Worked on my grocery budget/challenge as well as price book updates
Came here and read for inspiration!!Katy

Sunday:
-went to Wal Mart for the 1st time in a while and quickly remembered why I shouldn't go there. I had all sorts of things in my cart and while I was in the checkout I put everything I didn't need back on the shelf. I would have added atleast $25 to my total if I hadn't done that!
-ate all meals at home even though I was tempted to get lunch while I was out
-made a butter sour cream snack cake from scratch (YUMMY)
-spent $30 at CVS for a mouth guard to keep me from grinding my teeth so bad at night. I figure this will save me on future dental bills.
-took chicken and homemade broth out of freezer to thaw for Monday's dinner
-At 10 pm I suddenly remembered to pay a bill that was due and avoided an unnecessary late fee...whew, that was a close one!
-read for entertainment
