I plan weekly based on what's on hand and sales. When things we use frequently are on sale, I stock up with (usually) enough to tide us over until the next sale. I don't generally assign each meal a day but put the list on the fridge and pick and choose as I feel like it. The exceptions are meals involving ingredients that tend to spoil quickly and those will be done near the start of the week, or crockpot/make ahead meals for the days I know our schedule won't allow time to do it all at dinner time.

I too am jealous of zakity's and some other's organization! But start small, find what works for you, expand over time.

It really is worth doing to both keep your costs down and make life hectic. It may feel daunting and seem to take forever to plan even a week's worth of dinners at first, but keep doing it, and soon you'll be a pro and surprised at how fast and easy it is!

Here is a cheap meal plan that is pretty good. It plans out 5 meals a day, 7 days a week for 4 weeks and have grocery lists included: https://shoedaman.com/product/exampl...ner-meal-plan/
