    Default Maryland here!

Just wondering if anyone is interested in keeping touch on Mid-Atlantic pals? We could give each other info on vacation/camping spots, day trips, outlet or thrift stores, grocery shopping, news, weather, etc. Let's start some threads!

I live in Calvert County so I'm smack dab in between the bay and the Patuxent River. I was born in Baltimore or Balmore, hon, and raised in nothern Anne Arundel County, Brooklyn Park to be exact. Can't get any closer to the city than that! I do love them O's, my Ravens, and steamed crabs with old bay. I read the Baltimore Sun online every day. I even catch the Baltimore news on cable. My family still lives in Brooklyn Park and Pasadena, aka The 'Dena. I must say I do love living in Maryland.

My youngest was born in Balmore. We were living in Bolton Hill back in the 70's. My sister lived in Hampton area, right on Falls Rd. I was born and raised in Western Md. I've always wanted to see the smaller towns on both sides of the Bay down in Southern Md. Looks so pretty and quiet.

We moved here because it is quiet, and pretty. Northern AACo was too fast paced for us raising kids. Don't get me wrong, some how my ds has found his share of trouble, but people seem to know each other. This county's so small you can't go any where with out running into someone you know. People aren't afraid to say,"Hey I saw Connor out at this place or that." I appreciate that information. I'm not the type to say mind your own business. I'm sure I could have forged relationships "up there" but I really like the quiet "down here".

We camp at Point Lookout State Park. It is so pretty and the campground is very nice. In October they do The Spirits of Point Lookout. It is a tour of some of the grounds with people dressed in civil war attire telling the history of Point Lookout. (Point Lookout was the largest confederate prison camp, many of the prisoners died there. Therefore they say Point Lookout is haunted.) We love it, we've been several times.

At my communities' beach we find sharks teeth, we are bay side. Calvert Cliffs State is great because you can find sharks teeth and some times whale bones. The Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons will date the bones for you.

We enjoy living in SoMd. I love visiting Deep Creek Lake and Rocky Gap State Park (Cumberland) in the pan handle. Dan's Mountain (Frostburg are) is nice too. We also camp at Cunningham Falls State Park (North of Fredrick) in the Catoctin Mountains.

You'll have to let me know some good spots to go in WVA!

We lived in Lusby, near Solomon's Island for four years... 1986 through 1990. Lived in the Ranch Club on the bay. Swam in the lake there and collected fossils at the bay. Used to be able to go crabbing off the restaurant pier at Solomon's but they put a stop to that right before we moved. Beautiful area.

We're up in Greencastle, PA now. About 15 minutes north of Hagerstown. Really beautiful here as well. Been here since 1991.

Hi I am from Maryland too! Born and raised. I was born in Montgomery County, moved to Frederick County when I was 5, and now I have been living in Carroll County for 11 years! Nice to see other Marylanders here!

Nice places to visit. I wouldn't want to live in the pan handle of Maryland unless we were forced to move. My husband is Maryland Natural Resources Police so he makes a decent salary. That's the only way we could survive, not much work up that way.

I'm right here in Upper Marlboro. My favorite summertime thing is collect shark's teeth. A friend showed me sharks teeth at Flaggs Pond many years ago, then we'd go to North Beach before you had to pay to get on it and collect teeth and also been to Calvert Cliffs. I haven't done it in a while..have to pay to get on the beaches, but maybe I'll do it this summer.
