Anyone in Battlecreek?
We've arrived here for a few days to meet the new in-laws and I have some extra time on my hands. Would love to meet other village members. Have already started scoping out your thrift stores and explored Horrocks! Great store love the fresh stuff and the variety of cheeses.

Battle Creek, Nebraska?? My sister lives very near there.
I am sure it is not there. As it is a town of about 500 people.
Does not have a Horrocks or a thrift store.

I was thinking Battle Creek, Michigan! :-)
I'm not there, but about 1.5 hours northeast.

Sorry about that. Yes, Battlecreek, Michigan.
Spent a wonderful day today on a Lake just outside Marshall, Michigan. Meet a whole mess of my new daughter-in-laws family. From Great grandma to a variety of cousins. What a nice day lots of pictures, food and family. Just wish it was warmer here. When we left Fla it was 93 its been in the 60's here and overcast. Brrrr Cold for us southern folks lol. But having a wonderful time.
Hitting the Ballon and Airfest tommorrow for the 4th fireworks.
Then heading towards home on Sat. am.

I am originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Moved to Alabama in February. It is a climate shock, isn't it...lol. But I loved rubbing it in to all family when were sitting outside in shorts and short sleeve t-shirts and they were having a snow storm....hehehe. I don't miss the snow at all, but I know I will as December 23 rolls around (Christmas just isn't Christmas without snow).
If you get a chance, drive to Lake Michigan. It's beautiful this time of year.
Enjoy your vacation.
BTW: See if Kellogg's still has tours. I've never been on one, but I'm sure it would be fun.

Not from there, but have been to Charlotte, Michigan lots of times. My grandparents lived there on a lake. Used to go to Battle Creek on the Kellogs tour when I was a kid! And, just my two cents worth.....Michigan always seemed cold to me. Beautiful, yes, but always cold when I was there!

The Cearl Museum has closed boo hoo. I was looking forward to seeing it too. Budget cuts.
But boy what a great 4th of July celebration. The Battlecreek airport had a ballon launch of over 60 ballones, live music, air force air show and a wonderful fireworks display.
Yes, its cold here when the sun goes down and I am looking forward to the trip home tommorrow.
