    Default Anyone from Chicago?

I'm a life-long Chicago resident. Just wondering how many FV there might be that have either lived here or want to live here.

Hi Nadine - I'm in Chicago. Not loving this storm we're having right now, although we do need the rain. I'm going on a camp-out this weekend.

Hope to meet more nearby-FV's here!

Nadine, I live in Waukegan, not too far from Chicago. I have been living in this area for 9 years. I don't want to live around here anymore, I want a simpler life, without a commute, high mortgage and all the other stuff.
Luckily, I have a backyard and I have the opportunity to put in a veggie garden every year. It's the bright spot of our summers.

Hubby and I use to live in Waukegan 33 years ago when hubby was stationed in the Navy. Being from Louisiana/Texas we moved there during one of their worst snow storms. We had to learn how to drive all over again.

Well, it seems like I live in Chicago! Every time I want to travel somewhere (like Penn., D.C., AL., etc.,) I have to drive through Chicago. (I live in WI.)

I'm in Wheaton on a half acre in an unincorporated area. Been here for 8 years and love it. I try to be frugal and green.

Love reading all your comments and where you are, where you've been. I would absolutely love to move to a more rural area, less stress, lower mortgage, but I feel that my roots are in Chicago and probably always will be. And like "Andrew's Mom", our vegetable garden behind the garage is our haven in the summer also. Gives us a chance to "feel" like we're not in the big city.

I'm hoping to get my garden in this weekend. We've been so busy with our girls school, girl scout camping and working on the house I haven't even tilled it up yet.

    What do you all plant?

I'm in a far west suburb. And I grew up just 1 block from Chicago's city limits.

    Hi
This is my first post on the forum.
    I live in Mount Prospect, IL {The home town of the new American Idol. }

I'm a big time cat lover.
I watch AMC and I never miss Chelsey Handler's E show.
Pepsi and pasta would be my deserted island nourishments.

I don't live in Chicago but went with my sister-in-law a couple of time when she had a conference to go to and I fell in love with Chicago. There are so many things to see and do. I couldn't live there due to the cost of living. There is so much history there!

    Hey,
I used to live in Mt. Prosperous! Right behind Randhurst Mall. Have they torn it down yet?

    Howdy Hi
The Randherst Mall was torn down about a year ago +/-.
The construction of the new development is so far coming in
below budget and on time. Now if only Mt Prospect could get
    a Sonic's drive in. LOL

    Red face

WE live in the farthest NE corner of the state a little town called Winthrop Harbor we are right between Chicago and Milwaukee which is great! Right on the lake but still somewhat relaxed country living! I love it here just not the super high tax's! I really hope to meet more people from the area here on this site!

I'm a new Chicago transplant from southern California- wow, what a change! I'm in the Rogers Park area as a grad student and am doing my best to stay within my means but relocating and exploring the new city can get costly! Anyone have any favorite blogs, resources, places to go, etc. they'd like to share?
