Good news about not needing a new prescription. Sorry to hear about the eye disease that runs in your family. Will Julia inherit it too? If I'm being too personal just tell me to hush and I'll drop it.

By the end of the year we should have $5,000. in our emergency account. I am planning on putting it in a GIC at that time. I am going to make sure it is cashable anytime with no penalties. I am not going to stop there but continue with the monthly emergency fund. What are your plans?

Can I join if I can only commit to $25-30 dollars a month to start?
I really want to do an emergency fund, but dh just doesn't seem as motivated. I figure if I do a small amount now, by the time he notices it will be rolling into more.

It doesn't matter how much you deposit. Just make sure you do it every month. Check out "emergency fund challenge-February" for some more updates.

I would like to join also. I would like to be able to put in $50 per month to start. I would like to increase that amount in a short while but for right now, that is the max that I can swing, but that will be more that I have been putting in ($0,lol). This is a great challenge. I love saving money.

    Blessings,
    Kathy
