Change jar challenge
Anyone want to join me? I'm saving for a trip to Walt Disney World. I'm hoping to save enough to buy 2-5 day passes-DH will buy the other two. I need about $450-500 for this.
Wanna join me? What are you saving for?

We don't save with ours but probably should. We use our change jar for a treat night. We throw all our change in the jar and when it's full it comes out to about $30. So we use it for a fun family night out. Since we are home most of the time. This is our treat and we usually let our ds decide what we do but he has to choose something that's fun for everyone including his little sister.

I definitely will join you in this challenge. I'm not sure what I want to save for yet, but I will put all my change in the jar.
Danielle, can we have a thread started at the beginning of each week saying what our amounts are. I know its a pain to add change, but it really keeps me motivated!!
I think I will also open up a seperate account just for this challenge.

CJ, that is a good idea to post our savings weekly. I'm in for that as well.

Great idea. DH saves his change and turns it in to the bank whenever we are "beyond broke".

I have a small change jar...I use the silver for the kids lunches on Friday "pizza-day". We pack the rest of the week, but the kids like to have a treat.
I usually cash in the rest when we REALLY need it!

I'll join you. Can I count what I already have saved in my jars or do I need to start fresh? Saving for a week vacation in a private Chalet in the Smoke Mountians in Tennesee
Saved so far $350.00 in change jars since Dec 02

You don't need to start over. Just count what you've already started. Good luck!
