    It's the journey not the destination......Well it might as well be because I haven't quite reached my destination yet. We eat from out stockpile then build it back up, that's what it's for. You are doing great and I thank you for the inspiration.

    I started out with a bang and now I continue on with a whimper. But I remind myself that ea. small addition to my stockpile helps. And we do have to rely on it at times.
    My lovely dh finally got me another shelf, now it's my job to clear out a space to put it in. I think he will help me this weekend, but our basement is crammed full and I just have to get rid of some stuff.

    I intend on making laundry detergent tomorrow. I am down to three containers in storage. I have been stockpiling that for YEARS! When I get less that about 8 I get worried. I bought the items to make the home made kind a while back, so I guess that is stockpiling as well.

    Stockpiling a years worth of food and HAB is a lofty goal for me right now, but I still like Cricketlegs original challenge and I'd like to give it a go.

    This past weekend I took my $100 in stock up for the Winter money and I bought a 25# bag flour & 25# bag of sugar at the regular grocery.

    But I found even better stock up deals at our discount store:

    * 5 bags of 2lb oatmeal for .99 cents
    * 5 bags of 1.5 lb. organic brown sugar .50 cents a bag
    * 2 cans of shortening $1.99 a can

    I also bought

    *potato starch flour
    *corn meal
    *corn starch

    Everyone is doing great. I am nowhere near a year's worth of anything. But this thread keeps me going.

    Yesterday I went to the salvage grocery store and got coffee and chocolate!!!!My favorites.
