Starting December, I am transferring $400/month to my ING account. My hope is that I will spend less than that for groceries, and I can put the remainder into my EF.

One more grocery trip tonight, and then we start on the new budget!

Spent $99.12 on groceries - well under budget! Woo hoo!!

Starting tomorrow, I am dropping my amount another $15 to $400/month. I've been coming in close to or under that the last couple of weeks, so I have high hopes that I can keep dropping it in $15 increments in 2010!!

Great job madhen! You have really made great progress in this challenge for this year.

I am sticking with $400 this month. If we would have gotten more deer meat this year, I was going to continue to drop each month but the biggest part of our budget is meat (dang DH) so I just can't see it happening until DS goes to school in August.

    Grocery...$8.93
    Total so far..$62.28

Deb, separated them and stuck in the freezer. Couldn't believe I was out of chicken and $1.79 couldn't have come at a better time.

Sorely tempted to hit Food-4-Less and get some of their chicken leg quarters at .68/lb, but I doubt I'll be able to blast myself out of the house. Too cold and too much to do here.

Still haven't spent anything, but I'll make up for it when I do Christmas dinner shopping!

Can't find my receipt, but I spent $160+ on groceries a few days ago. I am going to say $175, just in case.

    Spent 36.11 this week!

I'm officially 2 cents over. Already.

I'm not giving up on this though. If I can't get under my $125.00 goal in two months, I may raise to $150.00

This is ridiculous! I spent $8.11 yesterday at Winco then $14.31 today at Raley's.

    Winco:

    2 bulk hoagie rolls .60
    3 baker potatos .70
    broccoli crowns 1.12
    yellow onion .37
    2 tomatoes, roma .57
    1 carrot .11
    panda puffs cereal 2.72
bag lays chips 1.98 (for work)
    bag refund .6

Raleys (they are more expensive and I don't shop there much anymore. I intended only to get margarine and bread)

small round sour dough bread. 1.49
earth balance natural spread 3.99 (I usually get this a Trader Joes)
late july organic saltine crackers 3.19
peanut butter & company dark chocolate dreams peanutbutter 5.69

I can see some of where I go over. I don't like to buy regular saltines with the hydrogenated oil. I usually buy laura scudders natural peanut butter but this company's peanut butter is good. And I wanted the chocolate. *excuse*

I did cook lentils last evening with the carrot, onion and broccoli.
