    Default Grocery Challenge - December

As I type this, I absolutely cannot believe that next weekend brings in December. That is insane!!! Anyway, with November, I was only over by $9 and some change, so I'm keeping my goal at $150 for the month of December. It's gonna be tough with the holidays, but I'm gonna do my best!

    Spent: $0
Family Size: 2 adults, 1-21 month old dd, 1 98-lb dog
Live in Northern NJ where they regularly double up to .99

    Hey ladies,

I am up for the december challenge, I usually go over by twenty dollars or so every month and it drives me crazy
This coming month is the heavy baking season and my family is coming out to stay a week for the holidays. I usually spend 240.00 a month for a family of four. Two adults and two children, so I am going to try and lower it to two hundred this month. Forty five dollars a week may be possible if the companyu pitches in for food etc. Good luck,

I was over in November, and I haven't planned my meals for December yet (especially all the baking and planning for my Christmas Eve party), so I'll have to revise this later. I'm thinking I'm going to need to increase my budget to around $450 for the month.

I figured I would spend about $300.00 and thought I would be well under it since I was at $230.00 on Thursday. I bought $65.00 worth of hamburger from a friend (super lean, ogranic) so am at just under $300.00. HOWEVER, my freezer and pantries are so full I can barely get the doors shut! I figure I am not going until at least the 4th of December except for bread, milk, eggs and veggies. If I can hold off a little longer, I will!

I am going to say $300.00 for December. Let's see what happens. We host Christmas dinner, so it could be ugly. We could have 16 here (Golleeee, I hope NOT!). My budget will be shot if so!

Well I came in $2 under last month. I do not plan any extra parties or anything for Dec. ILs do it all won't let me have any fun! (For real I have a beautiful new home I would love to share!)
However, I want to stock up on things that are on sale this time of year, so I am going for $300, $200 regular and $100 for deals that may come up!

I'm going to shoot for $300 yet again. I was wayyy over in November - hopefully December will be much better. I am going to try to make a list for a whole month to shop for. Then just pick up milk and bread as needed... Wish me luck!

This will be my first challenge. My goal is $300. Family is 2 adults, 5 kids, and 1 indoor cat. Too bad the growing boy doesn't count as 2 adults the way he eats!

Okay, here's what I got for my first trip for the month:

    2 pounds cavatelli
    2 pounds frozen chopped broccoli
    6 pounds pasta
2.33 pounds of Granny Smith Apples
    1 bunch bananas
    2 pounds baby carrots
    2 cloves of garlic
    1 beef round bottom roast

We're living off our stockpile as much as we can, so I'm hopeful we'll keep our totals this low for most of the month.

    Goal: $150
    Spent: $15.61

WTG Mom23boys! I love days like that I havent really calculated how much I usually spend on groceries in a very long long time. My challenge for this month is to do that so I can be ready for a January challenge.
